I think the high probability for module damage is fine to be honest, for Japanese destroyers at least. After all, in a Japanese destroyer you should never be spotted unless you are careless, the enemy carrier actively hunts for you or you are on a suicide run. I would like some countermeasures against carrier aircraft, and perhaps tone the module damage for US-destroyers down, but I haven`t really had a problem with survivability. You can`t kill what you can`t see.

I think he is talking about a torpedo like this: http://www.uboataces.com/torpedo-tiiia.shtml They are quite usefull in silent hunter, vs convoys though.

Can't really comment on the higher tiers, but the maps seems to be large enough for tier 1-3.
