    Karma system is worthless unless and until WG actually starts using in-game achievements somehow to make up for the compliments that aren't handed out. You see, folks are really fast to reach for the report button, but compliment? Not so much. And there's the whole "FU NOOB U SANK ME GOOD I REPORT U" factor.

    Don't you worry, if you don't enable it you don't actually see ARP ships with ARP skins, just the regular ship skins... which, I might sarcastically add, should utterly kill any complaining about it (that isn't based on WG spending time doing the skins). Seriously, don't like it? Don't enable it. Simple as that.

    Iona's probably just for visuals or as a special event NPC ship something. ... Plus, the Ars Nova after Takao does her thing is plenty capable of surface action. Not going to say more because spoilers.

    Nope. The range a ship can be spotted at is the same no matter what the spotter ship is. It's listed in port how far a ship of that type, with that captain and upgrades, it's detected at. Please note that air and ship detectability ranges are different, but both are similarly affected and basically work the same.

    Ok. Thus the reason why at close range underwater citadel hits are more common. (shell slows down going through water, pens underwater, explodes inside after punching through citadel armor)

    Try actually hitting the citadel first. Rounds overpenning through unimportant ship parts should rightly do little damage. I'm not 100% sure if an overpen through the citadel does full damage or not but I think it does. Really not sure, though. Does anybody know if an overpen through citadel deals full damage?
  7. From what I heard it was the way it worked early. It was dropped in favor of the current system. I think it was too OP.

  9. OP, your first failure is using the autopilot to begin with. Unless you're a carrier, try doing all the steering yourself. Seriously. Do it. Don't argue, never use autopilot again and turn collision avoidance off. Train your situational awareness instead and ship handling so that you graduate from "travelling in a straight line and constant speed while shooting" to "angling armor and even dodging incoming fire while firing back effectively". Yeah, don't argue. Just do it.

    We get it, you hate the Furutaka so much you are perfectly willing to use absolutely ridiculous arguments to push your agenda. Thanks for letting us know we can't expect a reasonable dialogue with you. And by the way? I wouldn't expect a ZAO to survive 3 tier 7 battleships focus-firing on it for long, either. No cruiser has the armor to take battleship-grade shell hits.

    No, torps are 10km and the gun turret rotation speed was buffed from 45s to 36s a few patches ago. Do you even pay attention? For 203mm guns 36s is just fine. ... and if you expect a tier _7_ cruiser's armor to stop tier 6/7 BB fire, you're delusional, much less a tier 5 cruiser. Side note, 203mm HE is also much better at hurting battleships, particularly against the most heavily armored ones. And AP is both a cruiser killer and often surprisingly effective against battleships. And finally, torps are nice weapons to have, but they're not primary weapons. Don't try to play destroyer with it, but DO use if you get a good shot. Just remember you ARE exposing your citadel in order to USE them, so think carefully about your odds of hitting before you take that risk.

    And I have 30%. While hopping around between ships a lot. Really, for some people shooting is hard. That's why we, folks who actually know how to shoot, get called out as cheaters. Sadly I'm out of negreps for the day.

    Surprisingly hard when you realise gunfire can take well over 12 seconds to impact the targeted area, torpedos take even longer and it's absolutely impossible for the game to predict where everyone will be because speed + maneuvering means everybody's future locations are at best uncertain. This is not even going into whether such handholding is necessary or even desirable. I find that in general such is not necessary in this game. Well, except torpedo noobs. But there's nothing that can be done there, we all did it when we were new, got to grow out of it by learning how to torpedo. No way around it.

    Assuming both of these happen as described... the buff to tier 6+ IJN DD torps are most welcome. However, combining it with a nerf to battleship rudder shift times? That's a bad idea. WG is running the risk of completely overnerfing battleships against destroyers. And then there's the other issue... Target Acquisition module looks like it's going to become mandatory for battleships, period, end of line. I hope battleship rudder shift times aren't touched, they don't really need an agility nerf on top of a torpedo acquisition nerf. The issue with tier 6+ IJN DDs always has been high detectability of torpedos AND crap reload times.

    If you're good (sorry, 61k damage at tier 8 in a BB isn't, come back when you can do twice that much regularly) you can make money at tier 8 without premium. It's at tier 9 and above where even being good isn't really enough to consistently make money anymore.

    In my experience, tier 8 does require good gameplay to break even. Above that, not even premium will really save you in the long run. Costs really need to go down a bit overall on the top tiers. They'll never be properly balanced if there's not enough players playing high tier ships to get the necessary metrics, not to mention the horrible matchmaker times and actual matching... past certain hours I don't even bother trying my Ibuki because I rather play lower tier and not wait and get better matching.....
  19. FFS it's an option you can enable/disable. They said so in the very post that announced the Arpeggio thing. You should improve your reading comprehension or at least not stop reading half-way in frothing rage or something and then look silly...

    Battleships benefit from super-intendent a LOT, too. One extra heal charge is nothing to sneeze at. For a DD it's a must, definitely. Go with it. Moar charges for smoke and speed boost ftw.

    This. Unless the Karlsruhe got majorly buffed, it's a hopeless ship. Bad at everything and even the torps don't save you unless you are very lucky because at the range they can shoot you've probably already been shot to pieces and sunk before you can close in... and then it's also a single twin torp launcher per side so good luck hitting anything even if you do get in range. Oh, yes. Konigsberg is sweet. Awesome firepower in a rather brittle shell. Nurnberg is more of the same and though it's perhaps a mite weaker because it has to contend with tier 8 it's still perfectly good if you're playing to the ship's strengths.
