I think we just spotted someone who doesn't understand how the aim assist works. And from what I heard from people who were playing when there was no such thing, you really really really don't want it to go away. Everybody's average accuracy started resembling real-life shell accuracy, at best. Look, the whole "he hit map border, he isn't moving" thing? Bullcrap. He's moving, alright. Sliding across the blue line, he is. It IS a freaking pain in the butt, sometimes, to figure out which way and how fast he's going, but you can do it if you carefully look at the map and see which way his bow's pointed at. And also remember there is an engine power penalty when in contact with the map edge, so the guy's slower, too, until he moves away. Trust me, blue lining isn't a big problem right now. The game used to be a lot worse in that regard. As for the two ship example?.... just use X to change target until you're targeting whom you want to actually shoot at, problem solved. It _can_ get annoying, sometimes, to get the right one, but that's a minor problem. Suggestions for helping with that are welcome.

Here is why Detonation are so frustrating.
ScratxNeko replied to Crusherheads's topic in General Discussion
I think if you're ALSO running the incendiary flag that adds magazine detonation chance you have a non-zero chance of detonation despite having the Juliet Whisky flag... -
You might want to explain what actually happened in a bit more detail. It's very much unclear. Though if I may venture a guess, you bought the same ship twice and then made a charge-back when you realized it, and now are surprised your account got suspended?

I suppose their armor is so awesome a Scharnhorst can't citadel a Tirpitz at all. Oh, wait, did that yesterday at 15.4km range... Nevermind. Point is, german BB armor is designed for short range combat. The closer you are the better protected the citadel is. Get long range shots in and you'll see those citadels. In addition, german BBs typically have bad artillery performance as payment for trollish armor. It's not really their fault the average player doesn't know how to properly deal with them... and thanks to that, the armor makes them the most forgiving battleships in the game. You can [edited]up and still survive because odds are you won't be made to pay for your mistake.

Saddly WG doesn't take the PvE battles seriously...
ScratxNeko replied to tacomaco's topic in General Discussion
I went to PvE for Rise of the Machine. God, that was easy freaking mode... I only didn't get Kraken on the first match because I ran aground on a frakkin' island and was utterly stuck... I avoid that mode like the plague because I KNOW it will instill bad habits eventually. It's not good training, either, beyond some basic maneuvering and marksmanship. It just teaches you BAD BAD BAD tactics because the bots are absolutely no challenge and you can do pretty much whatever and it still works. -

Sub-10 FPS... AND recording video? Get something better to do that on than that toaster, it's painful to watch. -
They're Iowas, that's a smart play for them. Not every BB can pull that off well. For that matter, if they apply only that tactic, they are giving up ground and tactical control of the battle pacing to you, aren't they? Just take advantage of that.

I finally get t10 ship but get bankrupt by repairbills

The best offer I've seen was 24h premium time for.... free! No, really. Probably a lithmus test to see if people are actually reading the personal offers?

It's time to lower chance to catch on fire by 60%

Of course not, that's heretical thinking. -

Battleships being set on fire by cruisers and destroyers. Hardly new, not overpowered. In fact, if you think it is, try playing a cruiser/DD and go after battleships while using nothing but AP. Go on, tell me how that works out for you. You know, there's one thing you could try doing. It's called "dodging". I know a BB is a big fat target but unless you're at medium to close range (at which point those pesky cruisers are FOOD for your guns, so go freaking murder them already), the Tirpitz is agile enough to make it a pain in the butt to consistently hit. And, of course... if you're taking high explosive fire from a lot of ships at the same time, even being on fire in 2-3 locations doesn't mean it's a good idea to pop repair. You'll just be set on fire again if you can't disengage, with repair on cooldown and fire duration reset to maximum again. -
Very much so. 6 kilometer torpedos? They're a good stinger if you're an aggressive player who has no problems rushing into the fray, but only a fool expects to use them every match or even half of them. It's a situational weapon. And remember... lots of other ships have torpedos, too, and at that tier almost always have better range and bigger warhead. And usually also fired from ships that are smaller and more agile! I wouldn't trade the torpedos for anything else, but damn if I don't have to get to near point blank range to use them effectively against non-derps...

To be fair, IMO? I think Atago's the only real outlier that's available for sale. I don't think any of the other premium ships are clearly better than their peers. Edit : And yes, there will always be folks asking their ships to be buffed no matter how ridiculous it may be.

Solo Warrior only needs you to end up being the last player alive in your team against 4 or more enemies, and then win by any means. Unless requirements have changed last I checked. It's pretty simple. It's also one of the least meaningful "epic" achievements because if you're a good player odds are you won't let it become a 1v4 in the first place. And I have seen AFK BOTS get the [edited]award. Seriously. No joke. Nothing epic about an award that can be obtained randomly by doing absolutely [edited]nothing the entire match.

Right. The Atago's quite the citadel city and it doesn't have good gun range for tier 8. It is, however, downright and indisputably the best tier 8 heavy cruiser in the game. Here's what the Atago is. An offensive minded, stealthy ninja in the form of a heavy cruiser. It's actually got pretty good armor if you bother with angling, too. Torpedo arcs are excellent (only IJN cruiser that can fire torps at an enemy without exposing broadside excessively, really), guns turn swiftly and enough of them to really lay in the hurt with them. Coupled with good ballistics and excellent set-crap-on-fire potential, it's an excellent set of guns. They may lack rate of fire but if you are an accurate shot that doesn't matter. AA is non-existent, so load up on Hydroacoustics and surprise those destroyers who think smoke screens are any protection. And remember... since you'll often be the sneakiest cruiser in the area (only DDs can really surprise you most of the time), line yourself up for delivering devastating surprise attacks. It is not uncommon for good Atago drivers to deliver multi-citadel hits on other cruisers on their first broadside against them, from complete surprise. And finally, it's also the only tier 8 cruiser with heal packs like battleships. So, seriously? What the heck, you take a citadel hit and maybe a few more hits? Stop shooting, break off engagement (you're FAST and STEALTHY, you can do this) and heal up. Then get back in the action. Your problem, IMO, is more about general proficiency. Your sole high tier experience is Atago play... and judging by your stats you're not exactly excelling with it. You either die too fast (very aggressive play or just plain forgetting you have WASD hack) or you just plain suck at hitting anything. Or even both. Making the Atago a stronger ship isn't going to help you if you are just driving into the enemy fleet at constant speed, course and showing flat broadside..... (seriously, your hit rate with both guns and torps are bad to atrocious... you really REALLY need to work on that. How exactly is getting a range buff, for example, going to benefit you if you can't hit crap with the range you got as it is? )

[0.5.9] Butchering Of Captain Skill Tree Continues? Let's Make The Choices Matter Again! :)
ScratxNeko replied to t3h3th32's topic in General Discussion
Pretty much the only ships that barely benefit from SA are carriers. Every other ship benefit a LOT. I like the change, myself. Though I agree we need more skills. -
Add a smilie, then. It's a forum, we don't get facial or gesture clues, nor tone of voice to hint at such things. It definitely looked like a genuine "Dammit, WG, it's impossible to citadel them with that change" complaint to me, especially due to the bolding and upsizing. It gets the idea of anger across, you know.
-
Bismarck might be getting a much stronger set of secondaries and probably more AA too to balance out. (yeah, 7km base range secondaries? awesome) But if you ask me, I rather have the torps :3
-
Pro-tip : Smoke screens are 10/10 torpedo magnets, too.

It's WG's way of trolling the player base. -
<_< >_> I just scored 595k income on a Zao without premium. That I think is a bit more... impressive? Admittedly, 251k damage of which 114k damage on one Yamato and drive-by torping a TIrpitz for 50k damage were highly amusing...

ARP Tier 7 ships should not be allowed in ranked games.
ScratxNeko replied to SkybuckFlying's topic in Archive
Given an ARP Myoko behaves mechanically just like a regular tree Myoko, I can't see any reason for the complaint. Unless you think everyone who got an ARP Myoko can't possibly have played a Myoko before... but how exactly is even that worse than folks turning up in ranked battles with new or not completely upgraded ships and undertrained captains?
