    HARUGUMO

Yup, that confirms it. I mean, I developed the whole argument just below this sentence, but I guess reading is overrated. Facts are too difficult to acknowledge too, I guess. I can't spoonfeed you the truth harder than I already did. I know the truth can hurt, but it is still truth. Harugumo firepower is inferior in everyway to Des Moines. Hence if a DM can't gun down a full HP BB within 20 seconds (and it can't), Harugumo can't. Simple as that. Facts. Not impressions, just facts.

Balanced.

    HARUGUMO

*edit We're talking HE spamming. HE have only THREE relevant value : Penetration, Fire Chance, Alpha damage. With IFHE on Harugumo, both Des Moines and Harugumo got the same HE penetration of 32mm, meaning they can penetrate most plating in the game, apart for Yamato', Musashi and Izumo deck (57mm), German BB deck in general (50mm), Moskva's deck, Khabarovsk side armor, and some part of US BBs (38mm). So they are on equal footing. - In term of alpha damage, Harugumo got 5x2 guns with 20 shots/min (3s base reload), 1200 max HE damage, 5% fire chance. (1700 AP damage btw) - By comparison, Des Moines got 3x3 guns with 10.91 shots min (5.5s base reload), 2800 max HE damage, 14% fire chance. (5000 AP Damage) You can find those values on Wiki. That means, with base values, DM gets 10.91 * 2800 * 9 = 274.932 HE damage per minutes, potentially. Harugumo gets 240.000 HE DPM. Even if you add BFT on Harugumo, you still are lower with 240k*1.10 = 264.000. And not even accounting that DM can also mount the 12% DPM module. While we're at it, DM gets theorically 13.7 fires per minutes, while Harugumo gets 10. Basically, if a DM can't kill a BB under 20 seconds with HE, there's no way Harugumo can. And don't get me started on the AP DPM, because you'll lose face pretty quickly considering the impressive penetration power of DM's 203s, which can actually citadel BB at closer ranges. Or at least make them regret being born with 15-20k salvo every 5.5s seconds. - Harugumo balistic at range is even worse than DM. At 14.5 km, Harugumo gets around 13 seconds shell flight time, even DM isn't that bad. - IFHE only even the field between Harugumo and DM. DM gets base 33.8mm HE penetration, while Harugumo with IFHE gets 100/4 * 1.3 = 32.5. Learn the mechanics and try again. TL;DR : you're wrong. Next time provide a replay instead of making completely fantasy claim, so that we can at least tell you what happened.

    HARUGUMO

It's still not possible. Can a DM destroy a tier 8 BB within 20 seconds of HE spamming ? Of course not. And Harugumo gets a lower DPM than DM. If you got killed in 20 seconds flat, that means you at least got several torps or a devastating AP salvo from a BB.

    HARUGUMO

It's not broken and if you can't land good salvoes on the SLOWEST, BIGGEST, with the BIGGEST turning circle DD in the game, it's certainly not the DD fault. Or what ? Next time you won't kill a Shimakaze within three salvoes you're gonna say it's broken too ? After all Shimakaze with SE got more than 21k HP. Harugumo armor is just as bad as other IJN DDs. But it is an easier target due to it being huuuuuuge. Also I read english very well thank you. Maybe you should explain yourself better. What's your issue with the ship ? The DPM ? The stealth ? The smoke ? Just a tip, remove any of them and the ship is dead. It's actually a well balanced ship in that EACH of his strenght got at last one downside if not several. I got 12 tier X in my port, indeed including Harugumo. I actually have a pretty good idea of what the high tier meta looks like. And from playing several DDs, Harugumo is not only far from being the easiest, but I'd say it's actually quite well balanced compared to the others (Gearing being IMO the weakest). And if his ability to farm damage is really high, Yue Yang is still the king when it comes to carrying. Not even comparing the ability to carry of the radar cruisers which is off the chart. A puny Harugumo would never be a treat to a competent CA player.

    HARUGUMO

If you hit all 9 shells of DM with HE on a Harugumo, you don't do 3k damage... And no, you wouldn't kill him either. It still got 25k health. Even Zao would need three salvoes. Yeah. You got outplayed. He timed his smoke and used other people spotting for him to gun you down. You want to know your error ? You chased after him, allowed him to maximize his DPM, didn't go stealth when he started to damage you... in short, you overextended. Harugumo got ridiculous DPM but floaty shells at range. It got good stealth but inferior to other DD. It got a good gun range but can't kite like Khabarovsk at all. It is slow and fat, doesn't have a heal, and rely on teammates spotting to deal damage. It's certainly strong, but each time I've seen players being farmed by Harugumo, it was because the Haru was smartly using his team to deal damage and/or his target overextended. FFS, are you the same kind of idiots that reports an Atlanta when they melt your HP from behind an island ? It's the exact same thing. Give us the replay maybe, but I'm pretty sure everyone will say the same thing. That is literally impossible unless you detonated. Harugumo still got an HE DPM lower than Des Moines. Can a DM gun you down from full health in20 seconds ? No. This is ridiculous. If you even played the ship you would know.
  8. ShinGetsu

    HARUGUMO

No, you were outplayed hard. Harugumo at range longer than DM radar got 10+ seconds shell flight time. If he could farm you from smoke, he had someone to spot for him and you were a sitting duck. And with Harugumo agility, trying to gunboat a DM at 10km in open water just ask for being crippled, fast. And if you did only 3k damage with HE on it, again, you clearly aimed poorly. Harugumo armor isn't Khaba armor. It's standard IJN stuff. Even Gearing is more armored. That thing is not broken, he outplayed you hard and you played poorly. Either by overextending, or by being unable to aim properly. This ship is absolutely terrible at kiting. She does fat and slow turn, even with engine boost on, and she eats TONS of damage from BB AP and CA HE and AP. Harugumo is a strong ship. There's no denying that. But calling it OP is laughable. It has at least one huge drawback for every one of its strenght. The thing is, if a good player play it, he will mitigates the massive drawbacks and let her massive strenght shine.
  9. Y'know, this is the same guy that advocates "doing risky things for fun and stuff." (completely disregarding teammates fun anyway) Sooooo... Either he got multiple personalities, one doing the yolo and one doing the camping... Or he thinks guarding the back line in case of something would sneak from behind the blue line is risky stuff... What is your opinion, gentlemen ?

Asashio - the best ship to piss people off

Shimakaze full concealment is spotted as 5.58km. Kagerou/Asashio/Harekaze are spotted at 5.37km. (Same hull with same values) Yuugumo is in between with 5.51. The difference is not even worth noticing. No DD can reasonably hope to stay within 200 meters of another without being spotted. Not even accounting rendering delay. You're just playing on words there. You can't reasonably say you outspot Shimakaze. It's true on paper, but the difference is so marginal it won't change ANYTHING in battle. They'll get spotted roughly at the same time, or maybe with a half second delay. Lo yang, Benson and Fletcher are spotted at 5.8, Chung Mu 5.7, Gearing around 6, Akizuki 6.1, Kitakaze 5.9 et YY around 5.9. Tbh only when you starts outspotting at around 600 meters the difference really become relevant. So you have chances to escape Gearing, Akizuki. The others will spots you, especially if they know what they are hunting.

Non.

Asashio - the best ship to piss people off

You can't outspot : - Harekaze, which toys with you. - Shimakaze, which outgun you. - Yuugumo, which is still better. - Gearing with Legendary module. - Daring unless they changes its stats, and Daring will absolutely DESTROYS you. Then you have an absolutely terrible concealment advantage of 300-400 meters against : - Benson - Fletcher - Lo yang - Kidd - Chung Mu - Yue Yang - Kitakaze And 300-400 meters isn't enough when you're fighting a faster and dedicated DD hunter, especially if they have RPF. Then, you clearly outspots Harugumo and Akizuki, but if they still catch you, you're dead, period. Also Grozovoi is a big danger for you too. But assuming you can dodge the issue and maneuver skillfully between the DDs, you still find yourself against cruiser, and Asashio is completely hopeless against them, which is why I grumble a lot when I see an Asashio in my team.
  14. I really think it's a matter of perspective. Kancolle is great because I don't want to invest time in it, just doing my PVP twice a day and relaunching expeditions as I'm doing something else, while waiting for the next event is good enough for me. I play more in the week-end as I have the part 2 maps to re-clear and some quest to do, but I still play something else or read a book or whatever at the same time. I like the "lore" of kancolle, and tbh the event we currently have was pretty fun. I like theorycrafting a lot, and kancolle is very nice for that. I just don't want to bother with AL at all. And there are too many design I just don't like in AL. And too many borderline stuff for my liking too. I understand wanting more gameplay, and I do think kancolle staff is trying to make the game more interesting lately, but on the other hand I also understand people who just quits because AL is better for them. What I think is handicapping kancolle a lot, is how they fail to appeal to other markets. While AL is preparing a PS4 game, they just stick with the kancolle arcade, which is a dead-end concept. I don't know who is in charge of this (publisher ? Kadokawa ? DMM ? Tanaka ?) but they really should think hard about this, or they risk being left in the dust when it comes to being "outside the browser game" despite being the first one on the market. I think Kancolle also doesn't realize the potential this game has oversea.

What ship shouId go for next?

Henri IV is very good now. The Gun Reload Booster is pretty nasty when you get the opportunity. I literally nuked a Conqueror at close range with it the other day. He ate my three torps, beached, and then got a triple 240mm AP salvo at close range in his broadside. 45k health gone within 15 seconds.
  16. ShinGetsu

    HSF Harekaze, any chance?

Well, they still have many options to think about. Personally, I'd like it if they added another Kagerou-class with some unique gimmick. The first one I can think about is Amatsukaze, as she was fitted with Shimakaze boiler as a test bed before building the real Shimakaze. She did several speed trial with those. So how about just making a Kagerou with stock hull, but higher speed and a +20% Speed Booster like on the french CA ?

    Besoin d'aide.

Asashio - the best ship to piss people off

TBH I don't like Asashio because apart for farming damage on easy targets, it's useless. It's a ship that is useless at : - Contesting caps - Dealing with the real priority targets (DD, radar cruisers) - Helping his team in the whole - Won't do sh*t anyway if the opponent battleships are kiting or are simply skilled enough to dodge torpedoes.
  20. Stop playing tier IX and X is the only answer I can give you.

    Besoin d'aide.

  22. With the Phase 2, there is a lot to load. But once you played it 5/6 times and fiddled a bit with the menu as you are playing, everything becomes much smoother. Smoother than it was before the phase 2 actually.
