I'm really curious at where you're actually searching for advice, because if there are only players of your caliber where you're searching, it should be quite a sight. xD Also you just tried to use the stat argument against Blieztkrieguk, and then you dare call it a fallacious argument ? Duuuuude. You seriously need to see a doctor at this point, cause you clearly have some issues. I looove how you talk about "oversized ego" btw. That's a wonderful case of the pot calling the kettle black. Now, stop ignoring argument and only picking what you can actually answer too, you bad troll. Get over the FACT that you are wrong, everyone in this damn forum keep telling you you are wrong, no matter who they are, and you still pick a fight with unicum "Blah I'm not camping blah." You. Are. A. Toxic. Player. Improve your gameplay, listen to advice, or shut the hell up and accept you sucks.

ShinGetsu replied to Malim0o's topic in Croiseurs soviétiques
And I have the right to say wasting 3 points for 2100 HP is utterly stupid given the number of much more interesting skill you can use on BBs. And I have all the more the right to say this is BS when you recommend such an useless build to another player. Secondary build is only interesting on a few BBs (Basically the germans, even on Yamato I've given up on full secondary build and it works much better now). AFT only is more than enough against DD for Dunkerque, since the best way to kill them is to load HE and blast them too the moon while avoiding the torps anyway. Secondaries are NOT a reliable tools. They're auxiliary armament and a nice help, but Dunkerque revolve around its excellent 330mm guns. If you can't understand that, you can't understand the ship. Facts. And anyway you're just a tomato spoiling all the fun for your unfortunate teammates with your selfish gameplay. The only things you really deserves is a ban.

Here's a bunch of captain skill you can use for a good build. There's more possibility of course. I just took randomly a bunch of possible builds that works well. I'm only at 13 points in my Dunkerque Captain and I still don't know which skill I'll get later. I'm advocating for PM since at lower range Dunkerque can get its turret incapacited by other BBs. The second or the third build I showed there will probably be my choice. PM-ER-EM-Surintendent and AFT are my core skills anyway. AFT boost both AA and secondaries. I find that with AFT the AA is already strong enough against tier 5-7 CV : the handling does the rest. And against Shokaku/Lexington, no matter what you do anyway... The last build is the one I actually use on my North Carolina, which is my primary ship for clan competition. It's very, very strong for a bow-tanker. You sponge damage like nothing, fire not only have a shorter duration, but you also can only have one in your middle section, heal with superintendant helps sponging the damage, and anyway the more damage you take the more dangerous you are since AR is here to boost your reload. NC specced like that is simply a huge pain in the rear to kill. Especially if you add it the flags for shorter fire duration and the flag for 20% more HP healed. Dunkerque is less tanky since it only got 25mm bow armor (overmatched by 380mm and bigger); but it is still a fantastic ship for locking a part of the map while blasting cruisers and broadside targets. AP penetration is very, very, good for 330mm guns (almost as good as Moskva's railguns, and Moskva citadel Yamatos, capisce ?)
-
2100 HP is less than a salvo from a Blyskawica. AR gives 10% more DPM at 50%. The impact is so great it's not even comparable. And your playstyle is "rushing stupidly and dying in the first minutes."
-
Survivability Expert is a skill that give more HP. It's only useful for DDs. There's more than enough good skill in tier 3, this one is a complete waste of points. Even Vigilance is better. If you want useful skill for Dunkerque, pick Adrenaline Rush, Expert Marksman, Superintendent (more heal), Basic of Survivability and AFT. After that, either Concealment Expert because your camouflage sucks, or Manual AA if you hate CV. You get more tanky, the more damage you take the faster your reload is, and EM allows you to chase DDs and Cruisers left and right, coupled with a terrific handling it's quite a monster. Also manual control for secondary is a complete waste on tier 6. 15% bonus accuracy isn't worth 4 points.

That guy just recommended Survivability Expert for a Battleship. I have no words.

Neptune the worse tier Ix ship in game do you agree?
ShinGetsu replied to EMILY_FINEBOTTOM's topic in General Discussion
I disagree, Donskoi is better. -

ShinGetsu replied to EMILY_FINEBOTTOM's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, but with Edin I could at least engage other cruiser outside my smoke. Neptune can't. It's a very static gameplay because it's very fragile. Well, you'llsee when you'll have it, but for my first battle with Neptune I got so many frustrating devastating strike... Look at my stats : I did more than ok with Leander, Fiji and Edin, yet I couldn't figure Neptune at all. Compare with Donskoi which I got only a few week later... -

Neptune is the easiest ship to one-shot in this tier, and you lose 1.6km of concealment. -

ShinGetsu replied to EMILY_FINEBOTTOM's topic in General Discussion
I found it absolutely boring to play. Dangerous, yes indeed, but everyone wants you dead, and everything citpen you. Unlike Edin that I could sometimes play a little agressively, Neptune have a meh concealment and your only gameplay is to sit inside a smoke and spam, then run away waiting for your next smoke. I might give it another try now that I got Moskva which was my top priority, but I really found Fiji and Edin more fun. -
Well, if a Zao/Hinden started sailing toward me, I'll just run away. I'm faster than both, especially Hindenburg (31.5 knots against more than 35), and with those amazing HE and AP, you can hurts them very badly. Also aiming for the torpedo tubes can reliably incapacitate or even destroy them. Especially on Hindenburg, I noticed her torps tubes are really fragile. It's not rare that I lose 2 of them permanently in a standard battle with Hinden. Tbh the cruiser I fear the most with Moskva is DM. If one manage to catch me, he'll hurt me a lot by the time I manage to bring him down. Unless he broadside of course.^^
-
Russian cruisers are all made for sniping at range. Unlike BBabies, staying far from the brawl is your job. The thing is : if you stay broadside, or if you overextend, you get killed in no time. They seems simple to play, but that's not true : since you got a support gameplay, in order to win you have to choose wisely where to support and when. Also radar on both Donskoi and Moskva spot at 11.7km, which is shorter than the range you are confortable at, so you better know what you are doing when you come closer to radar a target, especially since you can't turn back without receiving multiple citadel hits. Moskva can carry a team more effectively than the previous ships of the line tho.
-
I find Moskva amazing and very fun to play. Those (rail)guns are really something. It requires a good situational awareness as every ship managing to get some AP on your side will hurts you quite a lot. But you can hurts veeeeery badly your enemies too. Especially broadside BB at low-ish range.^^ Like that Iowa that got 4 citadel hits for 23000 damage. In facts you citpen even Yamatos.^^ I think I'm not using HE enough with Moskva, but I find so many tasty broadside targets I rarely feels the need to it. (Like, in the video, when he burn the Tirpitz, instead I would have switched to AP after the first fire, you get 7-12k damage per salvo, why would I spam HE ?) Just, sometimes, you will have some difficulties against some cruisers at close range, because you have so much penetration you overpen their citadels. Thanks god it rarely happens on Minotaur (my favourite target : get close to the smoke, radar, and then proceed to nuke) Well, as I'm a good sheep that gives money to WG, I bought a permanent camouflage for Moskva and it also works as a moneymaker. xD Also, I retract my previous statement : yes it is tanky against battleship... as long as they don't aim for your 25mm bow that they overmatch. But indeed, when you bait shots in your side armor, you can tank most BBs. It works the best between 9 and 16km range I'd say. (At point blank you have to hope the BB isn't smart enough to aim at the armor he overmatch)

Let the waifu wars begins once again !

They are not playable on the test server at the moment. They are just in "preview" in the port.

Moskva armor is only able to tank cruisers. Even angled battleships murder you. The only real advantage is the huge number of HP Moskva has (for a cruiser). Donskoi have both very good HE and AP with good balistic. But you need IFHE to be efficient with HE tho. Still with the skill they hurts quite a lot the battleships. Donskoi is, what ? Agile ? Nopenopenope. It has both horrible turn radius and ruddershift. (around 8s ruddershift and I think the turning radius was like 800m or something like that) I tried tanking with Moskva for my first battle, I got punished horribly by a Bismarck that simply overmatched my bow armor. Donskoi is indeed a CL, yet it has a similar playstyle than Moskva : full speed while wiggling left and right, long range, and blasting targets with both HE and AP. It's just that Moskva have vastly superior guns. Also Moskva can be very agressive in late game. Donskoi AP hurts quite a lot when you can uses them, and it has good torpedoes too. And the radar, while being useful, is clearly too short to kill a DD reliably, especially with 12 second reload. Moskva is mostly a huge upgrade to Donskoi, exactly like Minotaur is a huge upgrade to Neptune.
-
I think you should master Donskoi first. It has a lot in common with the Moskva.

HMS Hood jokes are not [edited] funny!
ShinGetsu replied to Close_Quarters_Expert's topic in Archive
Now you know how us French feels when we hear the "very funny" joke about "french surrender", which is totally insulting both our History as a whole and all those men that fought during WW1-WW2 and after. -
MS_Surface : I admire your courage, alas Thinder proved to us far too many time that facts and arguments means absolutely nothing to him. Don't bother. No matter what you'll say, he's absolutely convinced the game work the way his limited mind thinks it is.

ShinGetsu replied to Malim0o's topic in Croiseurs soviétiques
You still forgot the balistic. Ibuki got 840m/s, while Zao got 920. x) But that's not the topic anyway !
-
Zao have an upgrade too. HE have more damage, better balistic and better fire chance^^ But Hinden got the same guns as Hiper and is totally fine.
