Get a freaking Kagero or Yuugumo, play it, and come back to tell me they are easy. Dammit, I so f***** HATE guys like you that doesn't now ANYTHING about what they're talking about. PLAY THEM and come back to tell me the same kind of nonsense. I bet you won't after the first battle where a battleship will get 15k damage on you with a single AP salvo at 13km.

Is this possible? Landear did not sunk with 7 torpedos
ShinGetsu replied to Luis_Veloso's topic in General Discussion
60% of the total tier 8 battle over the last 2 weeks are played in battleships. "most players use DDs". That guy is stupid. -
Bretagne sank by a fire. Hiei sank by first getting bullied by three US cruiser and a DD, then by planes. Fuso got critically damaged by 2 torpedoes from USS Melvin (a DD) then got sunk by USS Louisville Yamashiro got bullied 4 torps from a destroyer then sunk by BBs. Those are just example. BBs most often got sunk by DDs and cruiser together, or by planes. And they on the other hand did almost nothing. Maybe Kirishima could be a special case as she first bullied USS South Dakota before getting hit in the back by USS Washington. Get your historical facts right you quack. Then talking about the game : BB are the easiest class to play, and requires only little skill to make them works at least "decently". DDs and Cruisers (not even talking about CV) are much harder. BBs takes skill to do real good in them, but that's still nothing compared to DDs and cruiser. Shut up now. NOW I'll stop feeding.

Henri IV, Moskva or Hindenburg? Help me decide!
ShinGetsu replied to TridentOfNeptune's topic in Newcomers' Section
Henri IV strenght lies in the alpha damage. Unlike Moskva you have almost the same HE alpha as Zao and same AP alpha damage as Hindenburg. -

You could easily double or even triple your average damage with Belfast honestly. First, use that kind of captain build : http://shipcomrade.com/captcalc/1000000000100010000001100010000119 Surintendent and IFHE are the most important skills. Use ALL premium consumable : Smoke, Radar and DCP at least, premium hydro isn't mandatory but is still useful. What's your gun range ? 15-16km ? Try to get within 11-12 km of 2 or 3 enemy BB, but not in front of your team as you need someone to spot for you : get a bit on the side. And also : not too forward as you'll need to watch for torps. Then farm. A good smoke would allows you to farm near 30-40k damage. If you think there's a DD close, radar. I can give you some Kutuzov replay if needed, though it's a bit different as Kutuzov have impressive gun range. Belfast is one of the most OP ship ingame, there's no reason you would ever fail with that ship if you manage to use your smoke well.

You're in the wrong game. And it will not change only to please you. Quit it. Best advice I can give you. Oh, and also, stop ignoring historical facts only to keep those that are going in your direction : - Most BB were useless during WW2. - BBs hit ratio was around 2% IRL. - The "only" real battle with BBs happened between Bismarck and its pursuer. And Bismarck got previously seriously damaged by both DDs and planes. - DD were much more useful overall and contributed much more. YOU don't give a Edited about balance ? Too bad, we do, and WG does. Also go inform yourself a bit instead of spouting old clichés. This post has been edited by the moderation team due to swearing.

This Cleveland is a real piece of crap!
ShinGetsu replied to MongooseHUN's topic in General Discussion
I love guys like him. They are always successful in life and whatnot, but they just can't accept they are horrible player in a game and come raging in a forum thread like 12 years old. I'll graduate from my school as an engineer next year btw. Is that successful enough to you ? I still can get 56%WR in WoWS. Actually I have trouble believing you're "successful" in life if you can't even take responsability for your own shortcoming. Cleveland is the most overpowered ship at tier 6 I ever laid my hands on, and I played every tier 6 cruiser. Only Budyonny can actually compete. With the Inertia Fuse skill the damage you can do in a short time are downright insane. -
IMO Harekaze with 100 is not worth speccing in any other way than the gunboat style. With TAE on top in order to torp a bit more effectively. That horrible gun range is a huge advantage when it comes to dealing with enemy DD. Add it the 100mm ROF, the best concealment of all DDs it can face (only Kagero is equal and Yuugumo is 100m less stealthy), a decent speed and good handling... IMO it's really one of the best DD killer at tier 8 with maybe Lo Yang. And killing DDs may not give huge damage number, but it wins game. If you manage to gun down your opposition, you can just switch to capping and torpedo hits. Also, I have enough of the full "torpedoboat" gameplay with Shinonome, and I facepalmed enough with those torpedoes spotted from the moon to only rely on them in a tier 8 DD. I find hunting the DD down first and then switching to full torpedo gameplay much more rewarding and fun.

Not gonna happen.

-
Yeah but you're comparing a DPM machine against a burst CA in a straight DPM battle, which of course will be won by the DPM machine... Atago strenght lies in playing with the concealment as much as possible. Atago can stealthtorp 16 mean fishes, if Atago find the Kutuzov broadside he can send it straight to hell with an AP salvo the other will never anticipates, etc. Currently Atago is what every tier 8 CA should be (add the heal to all of them, please, WG !). While Kutuzov is a monster of a CL.

As I said, AP are effective only on broadside target. Say you're in a duel against a Benson. It has 19mm armor almost everywhere. 100mm penetrate 16.6mm with HE. If the Benson is broadside, you just wreck him with AP. He has no chance and you can even kite him easily. If he angle, your AP are useless, and your HE can't penetrate the 19mm armor. But with IFHE you get 21.6 mm penetration.

I suggest this build for hull B : http://shipcomrade.com/captcalc/1000000000000011011000000010000119 But I REALLY insist you get Survivability Expert. It's a 21% improvement ffs ! Biggest benefit you'll ever get from a skill ! AP are surprisingly effective on broadside battleships. You're doing almost the same output as a Fiji I'd say. Instead of doing 4-5k every 8 seconds you get 1500-2500 every 3 seconds. And IFHE is obligatory in order to fight other DD effectively. When they broadside you can just wreck them with AP, but if they angle they are useless.
-
It's a very good skill for battleships that are already good for tanking. I have it on my North Carolina for example. Coupled with Adrenaline Rush, Surintendent and Basic of Survivability you got a real, mean and angry tank with guns that hurts like hell. (It's a good alternative to stealth build on US BBs, unless you give up AFT and goes for CE + FP)
-
No it doesn't, unless you play in a division with a tier 8. Belfast is one of the most p2w ship ingame, even Kutuzov is a little less OP. If you really receive the amount of "idiots" you describes I think you really have an issue with positioning. Btw you best score with Belfast is 56k. Dunno from where your '130k' comes from...

Discussion thread for "some interesting info around the world"
ShinGetsu replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
I remember when cruisers angled could actually tank BBs, but got deleted as soon as they opened their broadside. Now if a BB can't delete a cruiser no matter the angle, it's "vastly inferior". gotta love how WG reward playing skillfully. Btw, Scharnhorst can't overmatch higher tier cruiser, and is still doing damn fine when low tier.
