    French battleships talk

It's not worse than Bismarck. 314/25.2 is 12.4m of horizontal dispersion per km. Bismarck is far worse.
  2. This. I'd say they actually are one of the best ship for carrying overall. Lo Yang, Harekaze, Black, Fletcher... even Akizuki are great at carrying because they can secure the caps.

  5. Nelson take far more citadel through the nose than any other t7 BB. I think it's because of the armor scheme and its size. Anyway it tanks much, much less than Scharn and Nagato, even angled. Also it has huge area for HE to lands on.
  6. Look, it's not my fault if you can't objectively analyze the stats of a ship instead of blindly believing server stats. Nelson is slow, fat, have poor AA, and horrible armour. In exchange it got amazing guns and zombie heal. That is balanced. It's a ship that shine when well played, but totally sucks when badly played. However only a few players that wanted to play it to its strenght actually bought it. Hence those stats. I can freaking guarantee you that if you want an OP ship at tier 7, you should go to Scharnhorst and KGV. Clearly not Nelson. It requires a brain, and mistakes are deadly as you can't move fast and showing broadside is the sure way to get heavily punished (and by that I mean a devastating strike) from any tier 7+ battleships.

Next free XP boat, any ideas?

You forgot one possibility, and Sub didn't mention it either... a Campaign ! But I'd say there is 80% chance for freepex and 20% for a campaign. Campaign that requires only playing tier 9-10 ships would be fair enough tho.

  10. Wtf are those stats. Scharnhorst is far stronger than Nelson. Nelson takes citadel left and right from everything, and only the heal allows it to lives a bit longer. But overall Sharn is much tankier because it can actually bounces things. Lately I'm playing KGV and that ship is hilariously broken. Everything you can't citadel (basically all tier 8+ ships) get burned to death. Nelson is pretty well balanced. The 406 are brutal, but exactly like Colorado or Nagato 410. The ship is large, slow, and the AA is garbage. It actually hates DDs and CVs (like every BB should) and requires being in the right place at the right time. It's a gameplay not very forgiving, and only the heal can somewhat saves you of sticky situation. Not for long mind you... While KGV can just burn his way through the map, or Scharn can always yolo and vanishes in a blaze of glory with 6 torps hits and 120k damage. Nelson isn't any stronger than Nagato. It's quite a well balanced BB. But if people stopped being overly reliant on server stats that f***** shows NOTHING they would understand this. --'

  14. Nelson is rather well balanced. It takes a tons of damage and the heal is a compensation. It doesn't tank much more than a Nagato all in all. That KGV without heal will get killed by every IFHE cruiser. Fire is but a little part of a Belfast or Kutuzov DPM, while DoY will be very easy to focus and sink in a few minutes. It's a cruiser but without the DPM and speed and a BB without the tankyness. Everyone will love shooting at it.

    Quelques infos supplémentaires :
  16. DoY will be so freaking bad. No amount of buff against fire will protect a BB without heal against light cruisers with IFHE. You really need to have some money to waste to buy that crap. It's ridiculous. Counting as a cruiser in tier 9 MM ? Please, that still means it wil get matched against Iowa, Lion, NC... that all overmatch his bow, and anyway tier 8 and 9 cruisers will eat it alive. So Richelieu tank very well bow-on and properly angled as long as you don't get too close, but not at all when kiting. Interesting. Also that acceleration will allows for some interesting baits.
  17. I would have said Harekaze as it's both very fun and works well but... not in the shop anymore. x) Then I'd say Lo yang because that hydro is broken and stupidly fun, or Sims if you want one of the best cap contester in game, or Leningrad for something more russian in the gameplay.

I'm very frustrated with the US CV rework

I totally agree with this. The investment in points and module at the cost of everything else makes AA too powerful while the ship was average or meh at best, and the shipsbecomes almost useless in everything else. That's bad design. There should be some AA-monster ships, and the other should at best be able to get some plane down after or even a bit before the drop so that CVs can't attack without any risks but don't get their planes utterly destroyed.
  19. In competitive meta, only Benson with DAA and Lo Yang with hydro are picked. Sometimes also Akizuki for the stronk AA and the ability to outgun a Benson, that can be useful on some maps.

    Yek yek yek.
  21. It took me 15 battle with Saipan before figuring I forgot to buy the modules on it. Here I was thinking my fighters kind of lacked ammunition, and still found the ship OP... Your sarcasm is uncalled for tho. BBs can be interesting to play. Just not the (sadly) majority of them. The one I enjoy the most are Kongo, Montana, Yamato and Kii. Because they at least punishes mistakes a bit for the last 3 and because Kongo is actually fun to play when uptiered against t7...
  22. Oh I so agree with this. But I still like playing Kii because it's a high risk high reward ship and much more satisfying to do great in it than with retarded ships like KGV spamming HE all day (and AP at broadside noobs) and still getting 90k average damage... WG is raising my expectation for the French battleboat, and I really hopes they won't betray it with another Conqueror debacle of a completely stupid ship in every way. I want my Richelieu to be challenging.

I'm very frustrated with the US CV rework

AS was a stupid setup in so many way and I'm very glad it will disappear. It happens way too late, but at least it will happens. AS doesn't win games. You don't need 2 or 3 fighters to get the air superiority and cover your fleet. The main job of a CV was never to cover its fleet, it was to be one step ahead so that the bombers can't even initiate the attacks. And it was to SPOT. I just can't stress it enoughh, a CV job is above all else, to SPOT and to prevent the enemy CV from spotting. That goes beyond anything else. A good CV spots DDs, a good CV strikes DDs, a good CV will keep the whole enemy team under his watch. Destroying planes is secondary if you do that. And yet so many AS CV never ever understood this, and only wasted their fighters on the enemy CV fighters, or just camped their planes over their team. Yeah, you protect your team against strike. But you won't protect your DD in the frontline that way. This setup was one of the reason USN CV server stats were this screwed : most player wasted their time using the AS setup "because it's easy", and have the impression they're doing good while they destroyed 30 planes... 28 of which were fighters. I don't know what to think about the "lower tiered planes" honestly. I think only testing will shows us this. Tier 9-10 CV have the module to increase attackers HP so that probably would helps a lot, like on Enterprise.
