Not a single DD will ever makes it alive to the CV if the CV player have some sense. And only stupid DD wastes their time doing that anyway.

Roma - Tier VIII Premium Italian BB suggestion
ShinGetsu replied to ImperialAdmiral's topic in Battleships
^ What he said. I really don't get that appeal for strong secondaries battleships. Why do you want strong automatic armament when you can have nice, powerful, accurate main guns ? You want the game to do the job in your place ? -
In what way Hakuryuu is "dominant for spotting" ? It has only one more squadron if played 2-3-2 (2-3-3 may be nice but you lose TB and fighters stock) and less planes in the air anyway. Tier 8 TB but with the module of tier 9 are still fairly resistant. If it was one squadron only it may have been a problem. They are indeed slower, and they need more time to reload. But the strike potential is far greater than Hakuryuu now with still better air control and almost impossible to empty plane reserves.
-
Tier 8 TB are more than enough to crossdrop any DD and wreck any ship that don't have huge AA rating. Especially if you first drop the tier X DB on them (with HE). And Midway still have the best fighters squadron in the game. So same numbers of TB as Hakuryuu, but with better fighters and better DB. Oh, btw, my opinion is also based on what I heard from unicum CV players. What I hope WG will change however are those stupidly broken AP bomb that one-shots cruisers but do the same damage as HE on BBs.
-
There's basically no reasons to play Hakuryuu anymore. Midway stomps on it now.

ShinGetsu replied to Kou_Kouye's topic in Destroyers pan-asiatiques
What. The. Heck. -
Favorite shipgirl (Kancolle,Azur lane, Arpeggio of blue steel,Haifuri)
ShinGetsu replied to Kancolle_Kongou's topic in Off-Topic
Well... I'm frustrated. I'm starting to think I won't be able to clear E-4 and that disappoint me a lot. Especially since I'm sure Suzutsuki won't come back any time soon. This event is disgusting. The Yamashiro boss in E-4 is just almost unkillable if you don't have any seaplane fighters, this is soooo penalizing for a player like me. -_- I managed to bring it down to THREE HP. Seriously. -_- The worse of all is that it's actually the only hard part of that f*cking event. If I manage to kill her, Suzutsuki is mine 100%. But I'm now at 100 buckets, 15k fuel and ammo, and no end in sight. Just stopped for the day and will leave Akashi repair. -
Here's an example of a "perfect" CV battle I had with Taiho against a more skilled player in his Taiho : Both our fighter were covering our teams a little before our DD so that we could spot incoming torpedoes. Each time we tried to get through the defense one way or another, the other CV had his fighter blocking the path inside allied AA. We fought a battle of spotting and trying to get a strike on either DDs or BBs. The main point of the battle between us was to prevent spotting of our DDs. I used empty DBs to do the spot instead of the fighters. Basically the game was a stalemate between us too and I lost because my team screwed up. AS setup basically ignores DD or rely on allies to sink them if they spot it. The DB are only good for doing almost useless dot damage on targets (hence you don't use them either for spotting) and the fighters are too busy trying to kill bombers while avoiding being locked or straffed by enemy fighters. Basically they always lost in one or sometimes two front : spotting, damage or destroying attack planes. Good riddance.

North Carolina should get the accuracy module instead of the range
ShinGetsu replied to WWladCZ's topic in Battleships
NC is OP. Monster of a ship. Very tanky, accurate, underwater citadel, stealthy, monster AA, it's not even slow. GIT GUD issue man if you can't make the best tier 8 BB to work. It deserves more a nerf than anything else currently. -

-
Gotta love how WG fight BB overpopulation : by making AP shells designed to hurts BB that only works on cruisers. You have no idea how much I want to insult them right now. Especially since Midway is basically better than Hakuryuu in everything now. You better stops the IJN grind at Taiho... I saw a screenshot from thisheep having fun in his Midway yesterday. He baited the DAA on a Henri IV with his TB, then went over him with the DB afterwards. One-shot. So, you want to play your Hindenburg with its exceptional hydro now ? Too bad, if you do, the Midway kill you either with 12 torps or with one AP-bomb drop. Lololol.
-
It's amusing how KGV fly under everyone radar while this ship is just the strongest tier 7 battleship by far. It can tank very well, it is okay in every aspects, but the gun combines very powerful HE to burn everything that dares angles against him, and very okay AP to punch through any broadside it can find. And it's tier 7 so most of the time in tier 5-7 battle whereno BB can hope to match it...
-

Honestly Aigle seems more suited to shred every tier 6 and even tier 7 DD at close range. That DPM is insane and it has the HP to kill two or three DD in separate duels. The only real downside is the concealment, but it can still be very dangerous provided it appears in caps with the right timing. -
-
Against Yamato, sure. Against other BBs ? Nope, not really... as long as it's angled. I didn't fought many Conqueror with my Montana (saw them mostly when playing cruisers or Yamato), but with sufficient angling I don't see why it would take more damage than other with AP.

Are you sad to see USN CV AS Decks go?
ShinGetsu replied to RUSSIANBlAS's topic in General Discussion
That 2-2-2 Midway can totally go against an Hakuryuu you know... fighting 4 IJN squadrons with 2 USN is totally possible. And with those double TB setup the Midway is even more brutal in strike now... -
Roma - Tier VIII Premium Italian BB suggestion
ShinGetsu replied to ImperialAdmiral's topic in Battleships
Saw the video. It really seems confortable to play. The guns are really nice, and the ship seems very responsive and agile for its size. Quite the ship, but doesn't seems to powercreep either. And the guns hurts battleships like hell which is a good thing. Enough cruisers killers. -
While we're at it, nerf the KGV too. This ship is insane. Just look at my stats, it's stomping all over my tier 7 and 8, and even some tier 9.

ShinGetsu replied to Deamon93's topic in General Discussion
... I really didn't want another BB line that relies on secondaries. What's the point of a ship that does the job by itself ? Secondaries are no fun. Give me a strong ship with good main armament instead of nerfing it in favor of a secondary build.
