  1. Hi, Wonder if anyone's got any bright ideas about this... I upgraded the graphics card on my PC earlier this week - from a pretty rubbish on-board Intel graphics to an NVIDIA GForce 7600 GS The onboard graphics driver, despite the fact it relied on the system RAM - managed to run the game fine (with most of the graphics options turned down to minimum) I fit the new card, with its 512MB dedicated RAM, and since then I start up the program, press the big red 'Play' button and the whole programme crashes with a "Critical Error Occurred [MF_ASSERT_DEV FAILED: BW::render::success(status)] I've updated the graphics drivers, on the card - uninstalled and re-installed the game (twice) and tried just about every combination of settings for the card's 3D graphics configuration I can find... No joy... Anyone got any bright ideas?

Installed new graphics card - now can't play at all

Didn't think it was quite that old - but it's certainly been hanging around in a non-functional machine for a while ... I just sort of assumed it'd be better than the graphics card on my current machine - which was originally designed as an 'office' PC without a dedicated graphics card... Don't honestly know what the original graphics was - apart from the fact that it was an intel driver - the machine itself is a dual core i5 running 32 Bit Windows 7 with 3GB RAM (the maximum that 32 bit Windows 7 will handle). Unless someone comes up with a brilliant idea - looks like I'll be ripping the card back out and going back to playing with the original equipment setup. (at about 10-12 fps)

    File Sytem

Oddly designed upgrade... Download (stupidly slow - despite using a 20MB/s internet connection, I'm lucky if I get 500kB/s download) Unpack Install Delete old files (I could have completely reformatted my hard drive in the time this took) Then comes the fun - the whole process starts again... Download, unpack, install... And now I'm on the third or forth cycle... God only knows how long this will take, so far it's a little under three hours. Edit: Typical - whilst I was typing this the update actually finished 2 hours 45 minutes total - reminds me of trying to install microsoft office from couple of dozen 1.44 kB floppy disks - but that was getting on for fifteen years ago... How are the WoWS servers powered? You use hamsters to turn the wheels?
