Some interesting info around the world

IIRC it was a tank that you could win via some missions. Some of the big clans rigged the game by getting on opposite teams so they could feed one player the needed damage etc. Other people had evidence to it, so the reward tank got stripped away from some people including some who had done it suspiciously easily. Meaning there were some who had been incredibly lucky (and then unlucky) because they'd unlocked it very easily and then had it taken away. Presumably this looks for certain lines of code, and if it finds them then it flags up

Why T4/5 ships have no AA

Also any tier 3 battleships or cruisers you find you can't actually land 6 torps on because they're so short. 2-3 torps if you manage to get the angle perfect. Otherwise half your torps go in front and half behind. The tier 4 myogi is long enough to hit with all 6, but it actually has quite good AA

I don't get why they don't just put them in co-op

    no reward for spotting.

last time I played WoT there were 2 spotting bonuses: The system of getting a share of the the xp if the friendly wouldn't be able to see them without you e.g. if you find a minekaze, then you'd get a chunk of xp for anyone over 6km shooting at it. Anyone within 6km wouldn't share their xp since they can see it without help. If the minekaze fired it's guns this would go up to anyone within 10km etc. So in WoWs terms this would be mostly used against destroyers/carriers. Since when a BB fires it's guns everyone can see it anyway regardless of there being a scout or not. The second one in WoT that causes the yolo rush (and therefore is a bad idea for it to be in wows) is there's a bonus for the first person to spot each tank. It's a one time thing, literally the first to spot it gets the bonus. So some light tank drivers drive straight into enemy Base, spot about 12-13 tanks and then die. Game rewards them with 12-13 spotting bonuses

    no reward for spotting.

They're looking at changing the economy to include bonuses for spotting etc. What I suspect will happen (so don't quote this, it's pure speculation); Reduce the xp for capping so that DD don't earn huge amounts (so there isn't a flood of people suddenly trying to be DD for the profits) Give bonus xp/money if a target takes damage that you're spotting, if the person shooting them wouldn't have been able to see them normally. In Wot the player at the back shared their xp with the person spotting. You only got full xp if you were in range to spit them yourself. This could be interesting as it would make hanging around as far back as possible less profitable

    Idea: Admiral based gameplay

Sounds like battlefields commander mode where they weren't "on the ground" but had an overview map, could issue orders, trigger extra abilities etc etc. In normal game the people playing the normal soldiers just completely ignored the commander unless it was what they were doing anyway. The closest they came to acknowledging anything the commander did was to complain if they didn't launch the AC 130. So an admiral sounds nice, but when you have 9 players attempting to squeeze into j10, having an order appear on screen isn't going to change what they're doing

    Why am I pink

You can also go pink for causing a reasonable amount of damage to a friendly even if you don't kill them. You can also get it if you do a very small amount of damage, but that actually kills them.
  9. People have a shitstorm about every nerf to every class, but unless the stats significantly drop I doubt it will get changed. The main difference here is that it's an unannounced nerf, where instead they claim it works like it was always intended.

    Domination mode and retarded MM

I've never had too much issue pushing destroyers out of caps with cruisers. Lots of cruisers seem to think they can't possibly go there and the only thing that can cap is a destroyer. However, in domination another factor is that killing a destroyer is worth less points than a cruiser. So if you kill 4 destroyers and they kill 4 cruisers, they'll be ahead.
  11. There was nothing wrong with it - but since they claim that this is working as intended and that no other regions have reported it then I highly doubt it's going to change. We'll probably have to live with being visable for 3 secs after leaving detection. Currently we have the worst of both worlds - we're visable longer AND we don't really know if we're seen or not. My proposed ideas at least allow us to know if we're seen rather than having to guess. It would be nice if we were to actually dissappear when.we leave detection, but I don't think that is going to happen
  12. As I see it, the solutions are; -Add more information to the tool tip about SA something like "an icon appears when detected. You remain visible for 3 seconds after the icon has disappeared". This is the easiest solution, but it's a bit of a bodge job. -Have the icon remain on while you're visable. No one really cares about the semantics of "I'm technically not detected". What people care about is "can people see me, are they going to shoot at me" - Have the icon change colour/fade out. So have it red when detected AND visible, and green when you've got out of detection but still can be seen. This would be the best, so you know you've got out of range of the plane/ship/radar/hydro, but you will remain being shot at until it goes out completely

    Please use Premium Consumables

Actually this opens up a scary extra thought - I assume people use equipment, since they add greatly to your ship, but are there people who choose not to use equipment since it costs credits to add it, and at tier X that's 6.875 million for all 6.
  14. Xevious_Red

    Please use Premium Consumables

I used to use no premium consumables because the credit cost didn't seem worth it. Then I tried using the premium heal and premium repair for battleships, and found that the extra charge and the faster cool down made a world of difference. Where previously I would have died halfway through the match, instead I was living longer. With this increased life, not only was my repairs cheaper, but I was doing more damage and kills, and influencing the game more, I. E. Winning more. I then swapped to using all premium on all ships all the time. This was nice, but slightly unneeded - I don't need an extra spotting plane, and the defensive fire was frequently unused entirely because of no CV. So now I use a mix: Premium heal - the extra charge is nice, either for combined with superintendent for the very tanky 5 heals, or so that I can take vigilance instead. It's rare that I use all 5, but it's been needed before. The CD is the main factor, it let's me press it again and again, so if I get a break from the action I can heal a significant chunk of health. Premium repair: Simply put I can put out fires much faster, and it's not on cool down when I need it. People complain about the warspite being susceptible to fire - with the premium repair and the right skills you can have this on a 44 sec cool down. Which for a battleship is awesome. For cruisers that can't heal, it puts out fires faster, CV can ensure planes are able to launch, and for DD it's the difference between limping with a bust engine and escaping. Smoke: I'm actually 50/50 with this - gun boats I use it because I'll use smoke aggressively. For IJN less so, since I can remain hidden quite well, so I'll cheap out a bit on the smoke for them. At higher tiers I'll start using it because 2 is quite low. Everything else is standard
  15. Xevious_Red

    Please use Premium Consumables

Why would you ever buy them with doubloons? Credits are very easy to acquire - play a game at tier 5, with whatever your favourite tier 5 ship is, and hey presto, lots of credits. I will usually have an evening every so often where I'll play about 10-15 games at tier 5, which will earn between 1m-2m. That will buy your next 50-100 consumables.
  16. Xevious_Red

    Please use Premium Consumables

Although it's clearly stated in the video, and the accompanying text, and generally common knowledge; You are aware that consumables can be bought using credits? And that credits don't actually cost real money?

    Cannot control aircraft on carriers

I get it happen occasionally. Line up for a manual drop, click it in and it just doesnt register. Also had a strafe where it gave me the circle, but not the rectangle, so for about 10 secs my planes decided they didn't know what strafing was anymore
  18. Xevious_Red

    Aircraft carriers are terribly designed

Actually not really any of your other points stand either. He killed your fighters and bombers at the same time by using the strafe ability (hold alt when using fighters). You can do this too, which is a handy way of killing off his torp bombers very quickly. You say you've never had a same tier carrier kill your planes that quickly. Be glad that you've never therefore played against a tier 4 carrier captain that actually knew what he was doing. Manual strafe runs, if done correctly hose planes out of the sky. If done incorrectly they do nothing, waste a ton of ammo and leave you in a bad position. Oh and it can shoot down your own planes. I a straight dog fight, his fighters will beat yours. Which is why you use yours just to hold his up for a few seconds while you land torps. 2). Dive bombers are RNG, but getting g as much as the oval covering them as possible increases your odds. So don't just click and forget, adjust the drop point as they get closer to match the ship outline so they're dropping down the length of the ship not across it. If you hold ALT (see the pattern here?) You can manually drop them. Means you need to lead the target correctly and micro manage more, but the drop oval is SIGNIFICANTLY smaller. To the point where you can make all 6 hit reasonably regularly. 3). Torp bombers -> ALT for manual drop, can drop them much closer (don't go too close or they won't arm), you get a tighter spread too. 4). There's plenty you can do to avoid them. At higher tiers when the planes are much faster you can't out turn them but you get more tools at higher tiers. At tier 4 simply turn towards planes and use the brakes as they're coming in on a run. I have zero problems with planes using the arkansas beta, and that is a big fat battleship with literally no AA
  19. Xevious_Red

    STOP Carrier Discrimination!

I usually spec my US cruisers for AA, and make sure they have AFT. Doesn't mean I'll camp at the back being boring, I'll play normally, and be quite close to my team anyway. When needed I'll make a small diversion to put myself closer to the planes but otherwise it's business as usual. Just I'll happen to have a ton of plane kills if they're foolish enough to fly within ~7km of me

Ship Balance and Model Changes Feedback

did you select the torpedo speed increase skill at captain level 3? The one that gives +5kn for -20% range? As this would make the 7km torps into 5.6km ones

    Is "cyclone" rare?

I really like the cyclone and every time I've had it happen I've used it to my benefit regardless of class. So I've spotted ships as DD and kept myself hidden so the rest of our fleet/planes can home in on them. I've found destroyers that weren't expecting to be found as a cruiser, and capped points without being shot to bits. I've torped unwitting battleships as Japanese cruisers, and I've obliterated people when my battleship suddenly appears 8km away from them and unloads all barrels. Teamwork isn't that hard - speak first in chat with an offer of what you can do. I find "I can support A if someone wants to try capping it" works a lot better than "go cap A". Usually someone will respond. When you have 2 of you using chat you frequently find others join "the plan" even if it's nothing more complicated than attack a+b.

    Is HE the better ammo-type?

Although it's not exactly scientific, I tried using all HE on the nagato for a few games after getting annoyed with a run of over pens. Although you don't get the over pen, and the dot fire is nice, you miss out on the citadels including the ones through the deck, so the average damage per shell for AP (Inc citadels and over pens) was still higher.

    View Range Bug?

I actually have never seen it. Even had a cyclone on north yesterday so I knew it was coming, Weather worsened, music got more ominous etc. Now it might be because I was in binoc view at the time when it changed, but I'd swear it didn't appear on my screen. Now this may be because I was distracted by aiming etc
  25. Trying for kills will usually result in you playing worse. Especially when you keep trying to.shoot that low health cruiser at max distance instead of dealing with the full health one much closer. Holding your shots is pointless too - since a team mate might well get a citadel and kill them while you're still waiting. Just play normally, shoot the target that's most appropriate for you, that helps the team the most and the kills will come. I had someone raging because they kept holding their shots, while I fired every time my guns were loaded. Meant I kept killing things while he was waiting for them to be a low health.
