    While this looks like a lessened version regarding overall strategy (far less map control), it does look quite fun for the action part. The drops look reasonably easy to avoid, so there will be pure salt from the BB that get farmed. Looks like DD will get less shafted though

    They could drop a bouy with the hydro equipment attached that radios the finding back to the host ship. If such a thing never existed (I may have just made this up) then I'm sure there are some sekkrit plans somewhere that stated such a thing was blueprinted but never produced

    It's what I expect. They've already said stuff about only 1 squad at a time, and about making it feel the same as the other classes. They also need it to appeal to all the people that have no interest in playing RTS. This means the people that enjoy the current RTS will get the short end of the stick. Some will come to enjoy the new mode. Others will scream bloody murder about the game being ruined.

Take your pick: -Dumbed down, plays like arty/battleship "OMG ruined carriers" -Tweaked UI "OMG not a rework nothing has changed" -Just as good as they are now but with a different camera angle "OMG carriers still OP and broken"

    The thing worth considering is also: Is your advice any good, or is it you that doesn't understand what's going on? I see loads of "advice" in game. Frankly 9/10 times it's utter garbage, with zero understanding of tactics/mechanics/reality. A certain forum member who will remain nameless but frequently moans about bad teammates for example told our half strength new Orleans (when it was tier 8) to cap. It was an open cap, with no cover. On the other side of the cap was a full health enemy des Moines. No one was shooting the DM. I don't really know what kind of reality he lives in, but perhaps he thought a half health cruiser with no torps would win a gun fight against a full health cruiser that has vastly more HP, heal, and DPM. Perhaps he though the NO would suddenly gain DD level stealth and become immune to radar. Perhaps he thought the DM would just look at him and let him have the cap. Perhaps he thought the game mechanics would suddenly no longer apply and the NO wouldn't get constantly reset. More likely he didn't think at all and just decided to blame someone else without any consideration as to how it would actually play out

    We only have 10 players out of 49 taking part. However since our opponents appear to have zero players taking part, we are ahead.
  8. Yeah wouldn't normally go D, but early game C is a bit too much of a bottle neck for a Khaba. D you either fast cap because no one is there and then cut back into C, or you fight the people at D with enough room to manoeuvre. You did well holding down C to drive them off, nice to have a BB that comes forward but doesn't Yolo over extend.

    Is there a mod, that auto-exits queue when CVs are in it?

    I think it's a matter of people's attitude. I generally make sure I have some AA equipment, some skills to boost AA, sail vaguely near friendly ships, pay attention to planes and manoeuvre to minimise drop damage. I don't even really need the friendly CV that much because I can manage it on my own. The most common line up in my experience is potato CV vs Potato CV. If mine helps? Sure that's a bonus. But not really needed. Compare that with people that seem to take no AA equipment/skills/consumables, sail off completely on their own, make moves that maximise the drop instead of minimise it and then SCREAM that the friendly CV should have been there to save them. Not that it really matters of course, I fully expect the CV rework to be reduced down to them being alternative battleships that just pump out damage at long-range

    Range isn't really suited to the GK due to its fairly derpy dispersion. It's a tanky BB that is better suited to engagements 10-18km. Any less than that and the fact it handles like a barn makes it clumsy trying to steer/avoid torps. Any more and hitting anything becomes more and more reliant on RNG. Also sitting at the back means you lose out on using one of its strong points - the huge health pool, and the thick armour. This means the enemy shoot your allies first killing them off since they're much squishier with less health. Net result is you end up alive, but losing all the time because your team have had to take the brunt of the firepower and they're not suited to it.

    This would be my preference (both for buffs and availability). When it was last brought up to Devs the DW torps now existing was listed as giving it the slimmest chance of coming back (presumably so the second liners don't hit their own DD). There is of course the possibility of giving it even longer ranges but BB/CV only as a cruiser version of the asashio. Since the asashio is grumbled about a lot anyway (I personally love it) Because of braindeads in it, but a cruiser version would be even more derpy. The asashio has the utility of the 5.4 detection. Imagine a ship that has no utility but can spam 40 torps. The bot players dream!

    It was more a meme rather than actually good. About 1% of the time it managed to sow terror as it managed to launch 40 torps into a group of enemies. The remaining 99% it got spotted and died instantly since it's basically the tier 4 Kuma at tier 8, with less guns. It also had IIRC the highest amount of TK, because people either launched all 40 from second line and killed their own DD accidentally or because people decided to deliberately launch all 40 at their own team as they leave spawn for TK carnage. Coop players are.....not always the best and are probably the most likely to second line torp.

    How is the GK one crap? Compared to main battery mod 3 that most people take, you get 15% faster reload instead of 12% (So your guns load even faster), you get -7% turret rotation compared to -13% (So you turn your turrets closer to their normal speed), and as an added bonus you get 15% faster loading secondaries. The only downside is you lose 1.7km of range, which can be compensated for with the 100 sec spotter plane anyway. So unless you have a tendency to play the GK at 20km away from anything, dropping to 19km range isn't exactly a big problem.

  17. Each ship has it's own modifier. So you could do exactly the same as someone else and get more/less because of the ship. We don't know exactly what the modifiers are, but we do know they were changed (patch notes for one patch listed increases/decreases to ships XP). One of the seasons of ranked that was tier 7 the Sims was very popular because it has such a high modifier - you could get a cap and do a little damage and still get 2k base xp (And therefore save a star on a loss)

    Which cruisers have citadel armour between 95 and 123? There may be some but can't think of them off the top of my head Edit: ok loaded up PC, RN cruisers have 114mm citadel armour so you could annoy Belfasts/fiji/Neptune etc, Mogami has 100mm, so does chapayev. There seems to be a reasonable number that would fall into that category so IFHE wouldn't be hugely bad for KGV. Worth at least a troll build

    If your team in ranked comes up with a plan, and you stick to that plan, and the plan works and your team wins you still get reported multiple times by the guy that didn't read the plan and is angrily ping spamming your position even though you're right where you're supposed to be.

    Looking at your Muashi, you do a lot of damage and average a kill per battle, lose a lot, and survive a lot too, meaning it's quite regular for you to lose and still be alive. While you say you keep moving and don't just camp, where do you move to? Do you move towards a contested cap to put pressure on it, or do you move towards a "safe" cap where you are unlikely to be shot at. Do you like to go to.one flank where you draw less attention, or prefer a more central position that allows you to support either side? Regarding being shot at, are you far enough forward that you attract enemy attention allowing allies to fall back behind you and go dark (keeping them alive), or do you sit behind them so they're the ones being shot at? If you had to choose between shooting a DD that you might not hit, or taking 10k off a GK, which would you choose? Killing the DD could swing the game. Taking 10k off a GK makes your damage total bigger, but doesn't influence the game that much. Similarly, do you prioritise radar cruisers, or just easy damage? If the enemy ship has fled far away to the border and is not an influence to the match any more, would you persue and keep shooting, or go looking for a more influential target? Do you secure kills to ensure they're dead, or prefer a target you can get more damage off of? In a pinch would you do a task you are not particularly suited to (capping/driving off a DD), or would you sail off because "that's someone else's job"

    You don't need IFHE for that. The base pen for the KGV is 95mm on the HE rounds. Upping it to 123mm won't give you any better results, it's just a waste of 4 skill points. The KGV is very competent with almost entire HE usage, but this in a large part is due to the raw alpha of the HE shells - they give you 2k on a pen, and with 95mm of pen they will go through anything except battleship armour belt. Compared to it's AP which will give 3500 on a pen, but only 1050 on an overpen and nothing on a bounce. Although HE damage and fires can be healed, the combination of high alpha + fire damage allows you to essentially overload their DC/Heal, particularly if you focus ships that have just used it (I.e. hit by a torp). Most BB using HE is a waste, with the KGV it's a good choice

    cv's in ranked

    Ranked is mirror MM. So if they get a CV, so do you. Clan battles is not. So you could have 7 DD vs 7CA if you wanted. It was obviously felt that a clan having a CV would have an advantage over one that didn't. I guess they thought that by excluding CV they would stop the complaining of clans who didn't have a CV captain, or not a good one. Instead they now have the complaining of "you excluded them from this, why not exclude them from everything"
