That can always be adjusted later though, drop plane HP and more die if you just fly though flak. I suspect that in the test it will be easier (and more effective) to land strikes in order to get your average potato hooked on the idea before you dial back it's effectiveness

Interesting the midway gets to the target very quickly. That ryujo gameplay it's a lot longer even though the map is smaller. Also that ryujo footage he messes up his drops a lot which at least indicates it's not as easy as some of the footage looks

Something else from that video @El2aZeR The CV has repair party. At 5:22 he uses it to heal his dive bombers. The dive bombers appear to have a heal while the rockets/TB do not

You can't have started 2 years after launch. Game is 3 years old. Your account is registered from 2015. You took part in ranked season 3 which was January 2016. Whatever your complaints are, they don't stem from being a "new" player.

Why did you apply, get log on details, just to bin the email? Unless you didn't apply, in which case all you binned was an email that was sent to every player that had a CV informing them the test was open for applications

Oh obviously. But there's a difference between "I don't really like CV, but I'm willing to at least give them a try"/"I'm worried this will be worse and more boring, but let's see" and "Finally a chance to nerf CV into useless so they can be removed!"/"NEIN NEIN NEIN it must be RTS"

There's also the reasonable possibility that since the invites are cross referenced against experience, then the forumites/reddit people that have been incredibly vocal about it being "utterly stupid and no.chance of working, and they need to change it back right now" probably won't be in the first group to try it. Similarly neither are they likely to invite the "haha yes suck it CV I can't wait till you get nerfed" group either. They're more likely to invite the people that have expressed a desire in trying it, but haven't made a snap judgement about it, and are more open to giving feedback both positive and negative, rather than the people who have already made their minds up without playing it. For a test like this, you want people who are roughly neutral, or are at least open to testing rather than those with an agenda

Recovery time may be the time taken for the planes to get back to the carrier, so it may be the fly back faster.

Weirdly I really enjoyed it, but didn't really play it that much. Partly because you can't grind LM in it, but mostly because when I logged in I'd usually forget it even existed.

TBH I dunno why they didn't change the affected ships instead. It's not generally a problem with low/mid tier DD's, it only really becomes a problem with high tier DD that are fatter, and the BB at those tiers are more accurate with lots of shells -

Before you label someone as bad with DD because they take BB AP in the gearing, try playing the gearing first. It's quite an eye opener, especially when compared to the benson. Ignoring the fact that the gearing is more detectable, slower (so easier to lead), has a worse turning circle (easier to catch in a turn), worse rudder, may not have speed boost (DF) and is just larger (easier to hit), it's the fact the gearing generally takes full pen damage from BB AP regardless of angle. So if you get clipped by 3 Montana shells in a Benson? Usually 3 over pens. No biggie, 4050hp is only 26% of your total. Same 3 shells clip a gearing? 13500 damage, equal to 69% of your health -
The double comedy part is that even if WG were artificially doctoring the MM to bring everyone to 50% he wouldn't even be in the "being brought down" group anyway, since he needs to win MORE games to get to 50%, not less.

At the moment something like a gearing can easily lose 12-20k health from a volley by a BB. This isn't because the DD is trying to Yolo rush the BB, but instead because something like a Montana is pretty accurate up to 15km, and because the gearing frequently suffers full pens regardless of angle. I've had this both as the gearing being blapped, and as the Montana doing the blapping. It also doesn't require a "misplay" by the DD, unless you count being within 15km of a tier X BB a misplay. Regarding the Colorado scenario, you turn away. Colorado has an excellent turning circle. You just keep turning so your butt is pointing towards him. While doing this you can shoot him with rear turrets. Because you keep turning (and turn very tightly), he will have a hard time getting broadside. This results in him having to torp you from behind, which allows you to semi torp beat (you'll probably eat 1-2), which you generally survive. At this point you can kill him at leisure. -

I have to ask: Why? I understand keeping det flags for ranked if you have a shortage, but not using flags at all for randoms just gimps your own ship

This is what I was wondering - I read the announcement as you could shoot the bulge and get guaranteed 10%. Same as an overpen. Her calculations seem to be based on 10% as the minimum, with them taking "full pens" I winder if she's got more info, or if the calculation is wrong -

The same way they do currently, by setting waypoints on the map. Will have to use the M key version instead of Shift, but same principle. The same as they do currently, by using the map -

Did you get any British DD-missions from the containers?

I bought 1 container (technically bought for me). Got all containers from week 1. This contained Acasta. Converted the sovereigns into 10 more from arsenal. This got me Icarus. Got all the containers from week 2, plus any bonus ones. Converted all sovereigns into 10 more. This got me jervis. Got all the containers from week 3 including the tier 7+ ones. Converted them all. This got me lightning. Now have all 4, but won't be able to get gallant/warspite etc (was more interested in these 4 than warspite) -
Pretty much. Like being in CBT when it was strike loadout vs strike loadout. Of course the common problem/complaint from that era was carrier sniping, which unless the rework gives carriers loads of AA/all have DF, then this will be a thing again for at least low to mid tier carriers
