    I'm wary of it for one reason: What if I'm a mercenary, and get invited by a random team. Random team consists of a bunch of mates, all who are "not very good" and therefore we lose. Now starts insults from literally the rest of the team, because as the one who's not their mate it must clearly be your fault they lost.

    Chat ban!

    Well the chat one is pretty simple: You get reported a bunch, they look at the chat logs and see you're calling everyone a [edited]. You get a chat ban. Plays poorly is a silly one for them to have in there, and I suspect it's merely there so the ragers have a button to press to enact some petty vengeance. Quite simply, plays poorly by who's standard? Your average 47% WR player probably plays quite poorly by my standards, just like in the eyes of a 70% WR player I probably look like a muppet. Also a lot of people who press that button have, frankly delusional, ideas about what constitutes good play. Should I stage a fighting retreat, making the enemy pay for every KM they advance, and be reported by the maniac that thinks I should have charged in and died immediately just like he did? I won't report someone because I think they should have made better decisions. The bot one is something that would require more investigations, and I doubt we'd ever see the results - no one is going to get banned for botting and then post about it on the forums. Plenty get banned for chat, and almost always then produce a post along the lines of [edited] Which leads most forum users to assume the ban was probably appropriate in the first place. I've never yet seen anyone politely enquire about why they have acquired a chat ban
  3. People aren't disbelieving you, merely that the last time it happened it affected everyone, whereas now it appears to only be yourself that it's happening to. Are the targets on their own? Sometimes the aiming gets messed up when it switches targets, so ensure the target symbol is over the appropriate ship (key press X by default)
  4. The thread you linked to (from may 2015) was a bug in an update. It affected lots of people, and got quickly corrected. If this has re-occurred please take some screenies/replay so it can be submitted as a bug

    At the risk of asking, in what way would you like to claim it's "rigged"? That the teams aren't balanced? That the opponents get higher tiers of ships? The opponents get ships you feel are "better" Or you just feel you got a bunch of noobs on your team?

    Why still buffing torps?

    The reality of the Rock paper scissor was dumbed down to make it easier to explain. BB counter cruisers using main guns to destroy them. Unless the cruiser can ambush them with torps in which case the cruiser counters the BB. Cruisers can chew a decent amount of health off a BB with HE and fires, but only if the BB isn't focusing on them, otherwise they need to make themselves scarce. Torp destroyers counter BB. Unless the BB moves unpredictably, in which case the torp destroyers do little more than make pretty red triangles appear. Gun DD counter torp destroyers. Except torp destroyers are usually more stealthy, so it's the gun destroyers that get spotted first. CV counters DD by finding them, but has a hard time dealing direct damage to them. Unless the destroyer finds the CV in which case the destroyer counters the CV. US DD counter CV indirectly by messing up their drops. Cruisers counter DD as long as someone else actually spots them. They can find DD better in smoke than others. They counter CV via AA, unless they're an IJN cruiser with defensive fire on cool down in which case they're a tempting target. CV counter BB. Unless the CV gets spotted and isn't behind hard cover, in which case the range of the BB means they can shoot the CV better than anyone else Given that level of how different units interact (you could go into more detail easily), it's not quite as simple as BB->CA->DD

    -We don't know what the loss of range vs increase in speed is yet. It might be worthless. -With last stand being tier 2 it then competes with torp reload unless someone wants 2 tier 2 skills -the increased HP skill can give BB a chunk more health (I. E. Survive more torps) -the manual secondaries may well mow down DD (unknown accuracy buff) Atm too soon to see how it all fits together

    Does mean if people start taking last stand as tier 2 then they might not take the reduced torp reload, meaning the torp spam is actually reduced. Also we don't know what the values are. Like if it's lose 50% distance, gain 50% speed then anyone with 20km torps will be all over that. Anyone with 10km torps might not

    There was an extra section that players using tier 1/2 ships, with low level accounts (I. E. Genuine new players) get their own MM where they only face each other (presumably, as long as there's enough of them). Once they get to tier 3, or above a certain account level they get thrown in with gen pop. So you could still club at tier 3, but not tiers 1 or 2

    What to do about US carriers?

    Assuming 1v1 with you in a hosho and him in a langley: His fighters can kill a bunch of your planes, but he only has one set of fighters and they can't be everywhere at once. His ship is slow as sin, stock it has literally no AA and even upgraded it has bad AA. Start by launching your fighters, and keep your bombers back. He'll do one of 5 things: -Keep his fighters protecting his ship -Have his fighters protect his bombers -Hunting your planes with his fighters -Annoy you by parking his fighters over you -Send fighters and bombers to sink you (gulp!) First find his fighters using yours. -If he's protecting his own ship with his, use yours to kill his bombers, and ignore him while you top the enemy. - If he's protecting his bombers, send your bombers on a different route to go sink his ship. It'll be easy to find, and easy to torp. Wait till his fighters have left it unprotected and you can sink him early on. -If he's actively hunting your planes, split them into 3 groups, send the fighters to bait his to one side, and send your bombers on 2 separate routes to get to his ship. If he doesn't take the fighter bait, barrage his fighters until they do try to chase yours. Ultimately it doesn't matter if yours die as long as you get the bombers through. -If he's annoying you by spawn camping over you with fighters, then then don't launch planes, set AA onto his fighters, and go drive to your teams AA until he goes away. Since you're fast (ish) and stealthy you can quite near your own forces anyway. If you get space, launch fighters and keep baiting him onto your AA. If he backs off enough launch bombers and fly directly away from fighters (so your bombers disapear because they're out of view range). Go bomb his ship. -He's coming for you! Set your AA against the bombers, get ship to full speed moving away from them. Adjust course to keep them behind you (keeps them in AA longer). Try to bait his fighters with a juicy bomber unit (sometimes works), get your fighters to barrage his bombers to try to take out a few before his fighters get you. Beeline your bombers towards him, this way if you survive his drop (if you've done it right you should) you can sink him while his fighters are out of position

    I quite like tier 3, but I've always kept away from tiers 1/2/3 because I don't want to put off genuinely new players via clubbing. If they get the kiddies pool to learn in, I might come back down to the low tiers and play against experienced people

    Because you can no longer bring a fully elited ship loaded up with signal flags, camo, upgrades, and full set of captain skills, and apply all of your in-game knowledge against people who have never played before, and can't even access skills/flags? Yeah, noob protection is a good thing.

    The Asian Dev bulletin has the AFT/BFT changes listed as "may not happen" and a free re-skill listed as "may not happen". Personally I think anytime they significantly change a skill or add new ones they should give a free reskill

    Some interesting new skills. The addition of the flag that gave +5% consumable reload makes JoAT look less required and there's might now be something else worth taking. I wonder if the manual secondaries will be that you have to aim them yourself (like a main gun), or if they simply won't fire until you designate a target (but will then be more accurate). Similarly the manual AA could be interesting, especially if they don't fire unless given a target....... The added HP looks fairly good, although debatable who it's most useful for - 5k (for example) extra health on a destroyer could be an extra 50% HP, while on a battleship it's a lower percent (but the BB can heal it). Unless it's different values per class. The torp speed is unexpected, this just seems like a buff to the shima, but it might encourage CV back, and give them more options
  16. I don't know where you get that idea from, many people (myself included) have full time jobs as well as other commitments (wife, kids etc) but can still squeeze in enough games to get it done

    Project R - how do you feel we are doing?

    I think end of week 4/early week 5. After 1 week we had 3 mill. 2 weeks saw that go to 5 mill. Means we make about 2 mill a week from the weeklies, and the extra mill from the 1 time missions (class/frags etc). I suspect most people already have most of the 1 time missions (at least the ones they're going for), so my prediction is 7 mill end of this week, 9 mill end of next, 10 mill early Monday morning when the missions reset

    Rebuy the Cleveland. You already have it fully researched from the pensa, and can rack up about 5-15 fires a game. If you happen to have a captain suitable with AFT you can set fire easily to BB without risking yourself too much

    Not a bad choice, so looking at that you get a double whammy of torps, but have to wait 6 mins before you can have another double whammy. Wonder what cool down the prem version will have, and what you can get that down to (flag, Jack of all trades etc)

    What's the flight time at 19km? Also interested in what other changes there are in 5.3, seen the AA ones but don't know if there's anything else. 2 captain skills supposedly changed, but don't know if any others are, or if there's new ones

    I started trying to use the Cleveland, except it's not massively great against destroyers. The rof is amazing, but the flight time at long range makes hitting one (that isn't just derping about) awkward. The huge detection on the Cleveland means you get spotted a long time in advance, so any sensible DD simply turns around and leaves. If you can get the jump on one and actually ambush a DD you can hose them easily but that then is usually a frantic 3km attempt to avoid torps too. I ended up using the blyskcantpronounceit since the shell arc doesn't involve a detour to the moon

    You need to be in a tier 6+ ship, the omaha, phoenix and konigsberg are all useless for this mission

    While I'd agree that luck shouldn't play too much of a part, it is simply part of the (fairly obvious) "how not to be a massive burden to your team". Namely: - Don't bring a ship that doesn't have the anti-detonation flag -Don't bring a ship that's the minimum tier unless there's a good reason (I. E. Minekaze instead of mutsuki is fine, fututaka instead of aoba isnt) -Don't bring a ship where the captain is in retraining -Don't bring a ship where the captain has no skills - Don't bring a ship that's stock -Don't bring a ship with no upgrades

    Can we have an added feature please?

    I'd like to see it remain as a wreck, think that would be good to see. For game balance reasons once you run out of HP you should become out of the game, but that's because some ships have turrets that a very hard to disable, so although it's a cool idea I don't think it would be particularly balanced to have some BB essentially become invincible by crashing into an island
