DevBlog: Kommende Änderungen für Flugzeugträger

Was machst Du denn für Sachen ... ? -
which PREMIUM ships is worth that money (resource)?

Aigle, yep, as long as you consider the ship as a kind of a light cruiser, i agree. I got the ship via some missions, some time ago and its not a destroyer for me. The Mutsu is okay if you are able to play it the Mutsu-way. Long to medium range, always moving, like I said before. You have big guns, they lack a bit penetration but your AP is brutal if it hits. Take your time for aiming, dont get too close and it should work. Just keep in mind, armor and tanking hits is nothing Mutsu likes, like the rest of the line. All premiums come with a premium camo that gets renewd for free. There are better camos with more goodies, but they all are once way. I would not put them on a premium ship. One more ...: I dint quite understand what you meant to say about your captains. You do know the principles of the premium ships ? You can put every captain onto a premium ship and back again to his standard ship, as long as its the same nation without retraining. This is the reason why you usually have no special captains for premium ships. This means you can put every japanese captain onto your Mutsu and back without retraining and every french captain onto your aigle and back. Just has to be the same nation. For you german battleships, you could use the Graf Spee as the cheapest trainer for your Bismarck skipper. -

Gun range is part of the WG "Game of Balancing". Sometimes, I can unerstand the reasons, sometimes its completely nuts. I can understand why a Massachusetts has 18,3 km because its meant to be a brawler. All fine. I cannot understand why a Roma has 18,xx km with these high velocity guns. I cannot understand why French BB with similar 38 cm guns have 23, 24 or more range. But thats the way it is. All I can say is: check every detail of a premium ship you are interested in, generally. as soon as the money is spent, its too late ... There are some premiums in my port I definitely would not buy again. Edit: just counted 88 premium ships in port ... this thing got out of hand definitely -

Premium CV ... well ... both Kaga and Saipan are more of a T7,5 than a T8 ... reminding they were T7 before. If you are a fan of the new CV mechanics, Enterprise and Zeppelin should be ok. All premium battleships have their strenghts and their drawbacks. None is a pure "must-have-decision". It strongly depends on what you want to do with these ships and if you are able to do it ... to put it mildly. If I look upon Roma: beautiful ship, handles excellent, flat gun arcs ... all fine ... is it really ? Armor is situationally and not reliable in the usual TX battles AA is meh Guns are wonderful to handle but its 38 cm, the dispersion is pure pain and the high velocity makes it extremely difficult not to overpen cruisers. I have the Roma, nevertheless, but was it worth the money ... Just keep in mind, what purpose do you have in buying a premium ... -

which PREMIUM ships is worth that money (resource)?

Well, thats what I meant to say with "just the ones you can get today" ... No sense in desperately wanting a ship you cant get. Of course Belfast is one of the best-buys ever ... but it wont show up any more, never. Same with Kutuzov or Kamikaze/Fujin. Extremly powerful ships, some say borderline OP, but they wont be sold anymore. With extreme luck one might show up in a X-Mas container. Focus on the ships you can get via Giftshop, Armory or special missions. Just saying ... Edit: but after 12000 battles you know for sure -

The question of "worth it" cant be answered with a simple list, actually. It always depends on your personal preferences and what you want to achieve. Do you want a captaintrainer ? Do you want a creditmaker ? Do you look for extra XP in general for grinding ? Each of these points to differnt ships. Me personally I always would look for a premium that fits into the lines I want to grind. I do have a lot of russians, because the helped me building up half a dozen good russian captains in the meantime. I got me Anshan to build up a captain when I started the panasia DD. And so on ... Imo you get a lot for you money out of the following ships (just the ones you can get today): Murmansk Molotov Atago DeGrasse Spee Texas Z-39 Tirpitz (really ...) Scharnhorst Nelson Arizona This does not mean, the rest of the pack is bad, but these are the ones I personally would recommend. Pick the one that fits you personal goals best ... Edit: ... and look for Littlewhitemouses revies. They may not be the absolute truth, but you get a pretty good idea, what these premiums can do and what they cannot. https://forum.worldofwarships.com/topic/117549-mouses-new-summary-of-premium-ships/ -

The Wargaming matchmaker always has been a constant source for complaints, not only in Warships, but in Tanks and Warplanes as well. If you search for that topic, you will find endless complaints and rages about that. WG is fixed on this + - 2 MM since ages and basically it works pretty ok in Warships. The point is, you are well advised use this protected tierlevels 1-4 to bring a captain up to at least 5 or 6 pts before leaving the protected matchmaking with T5 and getting blapped by T7 ships ... hard time ... we all went through this. No chance this will be altered any time soon. Warships is better than World of Tanks, at least. In Wot exist some different MMmodels and they dont work as good as the Warships matchmaker, be assured. Of course this does not cure the problem. You just have to learn how to behave as lowtier, be defensive, be careful, be a bushwacker, be an opportunist. Try to contribute to your team. If you succeed in doing your own HP as damage to the reds, you have done your job. If you do that in a premium, you will have plenty of credits and XP. That is what premiums are for A 10 pt captain on a T8 BB is an absolute minimum ... kind of. because you get matched vs Tx ships a lot, you feel the difference every time. If you have the chance, try to level up your captain before you go on further. And I mean to say at least up to 14 pts to be able to use a secondary build on your german BB. Regarding your last point, you always have the choice of buying a plain ship or a package with a captain onboard. T8 Packages do have 10 pt captains. Most of us premium buyers do have good captains already, so for me e.g. I am not intersted in a ship/captain package. May I suggest something ? In case you might not know, you can get 10 pt captains via armory and every now and then via actions. It is a reasonable investment to buy a 10 pt skipper for ~10,- regarding the time you would have to spend to level a new one up to that level. Additionally you might look into the operations. There should be 3 or 4 operations which give you a 10 pt captain for finishing with 5 stars. Its for free Edit: went went a bit offtopic, i m afraid ... but some premiums have better "bonuses" than the regular ones. Regarding your german captain, the Prinz Eugen has some extra captain XP baked into the ship, without doing anything else. So the Prinz Eugen is the best captaintrainer for german skippers ... -

Just in case someone should need some kind of advice in deciding which premium ship to take, here is a summary of my absolute favourite CC, Littlewhitemouse. Well, Mutsu is kind of special, but to be honest: it is a true Japan Battleship. If you struggle in Mutsu, it is possible that this line might be not for you. All the japanese BB up to and including T8 are pretty meh in armor. They have excellent guns and usually pretty good speed and mobility. But they fold easily when hit hard. If you remind these points and look at Mutsu, you will find that Mutsu is a perfect example for an IJN BB. Keep your distance, keep angeled, try to avoid fights below 12km and keep moving (angled !!!) at 1/4 or 1/2 speed. If it does not work for you, try another line. I usually recommend the Germans oder the Brits for BB starters. They are more able to take some hits -

Did not play a lot in Atago at the moment to be honest ... Irian is more interesting to play right now, thats true. But it is as it is: no T8 cruiser is able to survive alone when caught by a CV, even A T8 CV. It does not matter if you get caught in Irian, Eugen or Atago if you are alone and the CV knows his job. This was different before the rework. I get a sad when I remember how Kutuzov shredded T8 planes before the rework ... thats history. So BTT ... for me personally Atago still works pretty well. Its a bit more difficult than before, admitted. I switched to the AA module and I used the chance to reskill one captain with AFT and BFT. Having Atago, Atago B and Takao it was worth it ... When I play Atago these days I tend to try the torpedoboat-thing right at start, as I try in Irian too. Then I switch to gunnery, as careful as possible and when still alive I try to use the torps again in endgame, when few ships are left. Works for me -
As I am a dedicated collector with 88 Premiums/reward ships in port, Azuma was a must have for me. Overall I like Azuma, I am not disappointed in any way. I watched the streamers and and they predicted exactly the ship I do have now. Its a longrange supporter dedicated to HE spam for 90% of the battletime. No more, no less. Thats a job Azuma does extremely well. Its absolutely teamdependent, of course. If the team fails, you will be going down without achieving much. A pure teamplayer, no ship to carry anything. Yes, every wellplayed TX CA is able to take you down in a 1 vs 1. I enjoy playing Azuma, not as a main ship, but its different to Alaska and Kronshtadt and that is why I have the Azuma. I dont have a specialised captain for it, my Zao skipper does fine with it. It all comes down to the point: what do you expect from this ship regarding your personal playstyle ? Do you want to actively influence a battle ? Push the limits ? Carry the day if you see the chance ? Then you probably better skip this ship. If you work this out properly before aquiring Azuma, you wont be disappointed

Exeter is a nice ship, but its a ship that rewards experience in gameplay ... or punishes you if you dont have a lot of experience. Additionally the Exeter is hungry for an experienced and skillful captain, the more the better. Both points determine the results with Exeter. Its a bit sad that Exeter is not "noob-friendly" (please, no offense vs anyone). The ship handles beautifully, is really fun to drive, the gunhandling feels good, AA is excellent for its tier and you have some torps to work with ... a lot of points which make playing Exeter fun. But all this gets nullified by Exeters poor RoF, the nonexisting armor and the overall squishyness of the ship. It is mandatory to know when to use AP and when to switch to HE to do damage effectively. Worst of all, if you dont know where to go, where to position, when to shoot and when to go silent again, you are prone to get blown out of the water in short order and thats no fun. At first I tried to use Exeter to train a new captain, but that did me no good at all. Since I use my Belfast skipper I have better results and I take her out once in a while. Imo Exeter is a bit of a wasted chance as a T5 ship. I rather would have seen her at T6 with the addition of smoke

The question, which premium ship is best/worth its money, is as old as the game itself ... Having 88 premiums/rewardships in port I would not dare to point out single ships in general. A lot of wise players already stated it here before: it depends so much on personal ,preferences and playstyle, a general recommendation is impossible. For me as a midtier player the preferences are: Molotov (had 12 citadels in one battle just last night ) Perth (dont care if lowtier or hightier, just burn them down) Z-39 (the swiss knife of the destroyers, excels nowhere but goog for everything) Atago (still probably the most unversal cruiser at T8) -
Sinop, Zitadellen über die Deckpanzerung
The_Pillager replied to Giesbert_PK's topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen
Also summa summarum: Izmail fühlt sich toll an.
The_Pillager replied to Giesbert_PK's topic in Allgemeine Diskussionen
