Wouldn't particularly recommend her in the current horror show that is MM for tier 5. Far too often you are bottom tier and it isn't much fun. It is a shame, because as someone who has owned her from the original release, I can tell you that she is a joy to play when you are not in a game where shells just eat your health pool regardless of angling. (I also have the flag camo and love typing FREEDOM! or 'MURICA! or LIBERTY SHELLS! every time I delete a cruiser)

I realise that I am hijacking this thread with stuff most of you probably don't care about but I have received a reply: Since I have been sulking (and playing xcom2) I haven't played since I screwed up it won't even impact me if they roll back. Looks like I will have my captain back and in future I will likely double and triple check what my captain is doing every time I sell a ship!

When I see topics like this I wish we had the downvote button still. It isn't because I would dive straight in and hit it, but I used to enjoy reading titles and guessing just how far into the minus the original post might have gone

I have just submitted one. I didn't do it earlier as I am 90% sure that I can get a sold prem ship back but will get told that it isn't possible with the captain. But, what is the worst that can happen if I at least ask in a support ticket? Either they give me my captain back (which would be great) or they tell me that they cannot and I am in exactly the same position I am now. I'll reply here once I get a response from support.

On Monday I unlocked the Minotaur. Big day for my WoWs account. I was dead excited despite the fact that my final 2 games were losses (157k dmg in the final game). I sold the Neptune and bought the Minotaur. I then went downstairs to get my breakfast before sticking all the modules on the Minotaur and taking her out for a spin. That was just long enough for the 5 minute cool-off period to expire when I, for some unknown and utterly [edited]stupid reason, had clicked dismiss on my 18 point Neptune captain. 18 points. Gone. *poof*. Before this happened I have never even accidentally started to dismiss a captain before. Also, usually when I have bought a ship I set up the new one immediately and so even if I had accidentally tried to dismiss the captain I would notice it well before the 5 minutes was up. So, the one and only time I screw up by dismissing my captain, it nicely coincides with the one time I get a new ship and then wonder off for 5 minutes half way through the move and this created a perfect crap storm of a stupid screw up. "it's just a game'. My fiance told me so. So I should just shrug my shoulders despite the fact those 18 points represent hundreds of battles. Somehow, her attempt at making me feel better didn't have the desired effect... I haven't been on the game since. I don't want to play the Minotaur with a 3 point captain. I don't want to transfer my RN BB captain as I'm about to hit 16pts with it which makes it ready for Warspite in ranked. I'm not sure I want to put a new captain into my Belfast and go back to the days of no CE/IFHE. Why am I telling you all of this? Legendary RN captain is why! It might be that the Legendary perks are not best suited for a cruiser, but it might mean that I can move a different captain to the cruiser and then train up the legendary captain to a role he is best suited to! This has improved my mood about the whole situation quite a bit - still angry with myself, but at least I can see how I might fix the mess I created.

Main gripe is the stupid announcements - many of which I couldn't read even if I cared to.

Give it an hour Live and we should be able to make a SCRUB team... I reckon we can scrape 3 stars at least

I kept the Leander and its captain became my Belfast captain anyway so it is ready to go. I put a fresh captain into the Fiji and that has been retrained up to my Neptune (although he is likely to become a Minotaur captain this weekend!).

You have just been given 1x IJN, 1x Russian and 1x German 10pt captain so far in Operations. My guess is that next week will be the USN and that gives you 2 decent-ish captains for those 3 ships. A few flags and a bit of spamming and you can get them to 14-16 points and totally competitive for ranked.

Let them die. Stop helping kill ships until enough die that you have 50% operational in the area :p

There is a module for 70% reduction in chance... most people choose not to use it though.

Pensacola. And this is pre buff. Sure she could be seen from the moon, is uber squishy and this meant that she was the kind of ship where everyone drops everything and shoots at her, but damn those guns are fine, and it was perfectly possible to get some very respectable results out of her. Everyone when a Pensa gets spotted:

So once per day I should either: sit broadside to the enemy BBs at 10km in a cruiser turn off WASD hacks and eat ALL of the torps (or perhaps engage WASD to manoeuvre into the path of them!) Think we would need a better way to earn them than a devastating strike!

Got a kraken in my Hood this morning made all the more impressive due to me being burned down to 5k health (2 heals remaining) and at that time I had 0 kills and our team was collapsing. 100k dmg is certainly nothing special for the Hood, but the comeback was impressive

0, 5, 4, 4. Just to clarify, you don't need 4 ships to make it to the escape zone - you only need half of the player ships that are still alive to make it to the escape zone. We finished 1 game when 1 ship got there of 2 left alive. 4 stars. The big thing is to make sure you destroy all ships from wave 1 and 2 after you leave the harbour and that can be pretty difficult when wave 3 arrives and confuses as to what ships are from what wave. The only 0 stars is from timing out after 20 minutes without completing the primary objective.

1st attempt everyone went wrong way so big fail. 2nd attempt we made it 5* after I convinced enough people to go to the exit

Oh that was a bad game for me. We were screwed with where our team was heading even before I got taught a swift and brutal lesson about why you shouldn't beach into an island practically broadside to most of the enemy team.

Essex. Konigsberg. Ognevoi. All 3 of those are current 'grinds'. Played the Konigsberg once in past 9 months so not really a grind. Don't own it but I'm scared if the Hipper.

Hard to pick the best in some classes. I love the Fuso, and expect she will be strong still with her uber shotgun. For CVs it is again easy with the Ryujo being superior but I doubt I will play CVs this season. But then it starts to become more difficult. For DDs, I think Shinonome will be the torp boat of choice, but the Farragut is a great gunboat (my only problem is that I would have to retrain a DD captain to the Farragut in order to use her). I don't have the Anshan but I expect that will be decent. For CAs, I put Cleveland as IFHE Cleveland will be potent generally but particularly if there is a lot of CVs, but the Leander will also be very strong (she is a kraken machine in randoms)... but also, the Budyonny might be strong, particularly with IFHE and since WG gave us a Russian 10 point captain this week it means you can re-buy and put a decent enough captain in her already.

Looks like things were not going my way in that game!

Nice draw as I queued for battle but it still ate a full set of consumables and a rare camo I had on my Neptune :s

Unfortunately I met Benaulim today whilst I was in my Shiratsuyu. I didn't know he was a forumite. All I saw was a Hipper overextend massively into their spawn and as he is dying to concentrated fire from a Benson, Minks, Graf Spee and a french cruiser he type about how he is facing such dramatic odds. I told him he shouldn't be there. He then tells me that if he is fighting 4 ships (for perhaps 2 minutes tops before he dies) that there must be weakness elsewhere and it should have been exploited. I tell him that he obviously isn't very good at the game (since he really doesn't understand what he did wrong). He calls me a forumite troll. Ow.
