You got teamkilled in 3 out of 4 games? I call bull****. Even if you do have an inferiority complex I doubt you could annoy everyone that much in each game.
-
So what is your problem with PvP? The comments in chat? I thought slarg was a bit harsh with his initial response to this thread but he has a good point - you probably should move to an entirely single player game because rude people in chat are going to be in PvE as well and you are a bit of a sensitive little flower.
-
Awwww bless you. You complain about the quality of the players in PvE and yet when we point out it is pretty much the domain of the worst players you get all salty and defensive. The fact remains. You say you have tried PvP but it looks like you tried 4 games and not killed a single ship. You say the standard of play is the same at tier 5 when the facts don't support that - what they show is that your terrible tactics (charge! ) went from successful to worthless in 4 simple battles and the reason that happened is that the enemy has a brain. Half of the people in the game might not have much of a brain but they can still deal with the 1 ship charging forwards on its own without paying attention to what is going on around them.

PvE is designed for people to get used to the game... I am not that surprised that the PvE population is pretty ropey in terms of skill. People are obviously free to play PvE all they want but generally full of people who haven't even figured out PvP exists or for people who want the easy life - it removes the challenge from the game. It is predictable, boring and gives a false sense of achievement. p.s. if you get killed early in co-op then your tactics are hopeless. You should be able to carry pretty much on your own. At least the people who don't die within 2 minutes can still influence the outcome...

Tin foil hat time. The AFT changes hit the Cleve quite hard... but that doesn't necessarily translate to everyone was using the aim-assist. The high RoF of the Cleveland allowed for adjustments to your aim on the fly.

This would be problematic for sticking your tier 9 cruiser captain back in the Albany. Do the sill just witch off and you have 12 out of 16 skill points unusable whilst someone who has an exclusive Albany captain might have 112 points worth of skills active?

Is the Mogami just a big citadel or what?
ilhilh replied to MS_Surface's topic in General Discussion
Ahahaha! that was a good one. That thing is a walking citadel. What it can do is heal which is useful but I have been citadelled a depressing amount of times in that thing and I have stacked up countless citadels shooting at them. -
You can get it on tier 9s for 4k dubloons - well certainly Iowa and Izumo.

ilhilh replied to MS_Surface's topic in General Discussion
This is an odd question. Sure, the Mogami might get citadelled easily but name me the cruiser that doesn't... it should be an experience common to anyone who has played cruisers enough... -
But not the carousel resetting to large every game? Arghhhhhhh. It is driving me insane.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
ilhilh replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
I found that. Well kind of. Was fine in the Kongo but 3 games and 3 losses in the ARP Kongo were enough to convince me to stay away from it altogether. -
I recently got both top tier BBs. The Yamato is clearly superior when it comes to a fight between the 2. The Montana just cannot holds onto its health regardless of how you position. I fought an idiot in Yamato the other day who was broadside turning across the front of me - so I double citadelled him with the first salvo and double citadelled him with the second one but had to load a 3rd salvo to kill him. In the mean time he just citadelled me from exactly front on and a second time when I was flatter to achieve full broadside on him. A competent Yamato will beat a competent Montana every time.
-
I found them both a bit ropey but usually it is taking hits from the side that really takes them out. But, standard doctrine for playing the Izumo is to point your bow at the enemy... so essentially point all turrets directly at the incoming fire... it can't surprise you that you end up losing some occasionally. I lost 2 turrets on a couple of occasions each with Iowa and Izumo... but it is still very rare.

Please fix this before I go insane. Thanks.

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
ilhilh replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
I screwed up badly yesterday... thought a shima had fired a torp wall at me so hid behind an island... but he just used the island to get within 2km of me. I hit him with 6 shells i think and my secondaries took the rest of his health before his torps covered the 2km. But then I also killed a 8km away Atago with 1/3-1/2 health before I could train my main guns on him They are beasty when specced right -
God no. Do not make them longer. Most time they go over time is from players who will not commit.

3 kills. 3 close combat expert. Me likey. -
I am currently playing the Independence quite successfully. And I run the stock loadout too because 1/1/1 is the best loadout. The other 2 are a waste of time. Tips: Don't let him pin your fighters down unless you are engaging both (or all 3) of his. Try bait them after you and barrage them to get the numbers down. Plenty of people fall for this and if you take 2 planes off each squad then suddenly things look better for you. Don't worry about what his strike planes are doing unless you are sure that his fighters are not going to kill your strike force or get at your fighters. Only if you have a free run at his strike load do you bother going for them. Couple those together and focus on your damage - your fighters are there to mainly protect your strike force. Everything else is secondary. It isn't about getting XP for scouting and protecting your team mates. It is about improving your chances of winning. And if you want to improve your chances of winning you go for a loadout that has TBs and you make it happen. In this case the 1/1/1 is the best option as pure strike loadouts are too vulnerable and as soon as your opponent realises it they will camp your CV. AS loadouts cannot be certain of stopping damage to their team and at the same time they cannot do enough damage to tip the scales for their team. I've gone up against plenty of AS loadout CVs and you have to be more cautious to get through to the enemy but maps are big enough and it is entirely possible to get past them and damage the enemy.

Well no - tier 9s face tier 10s. And when I think about my Yamato and how it smashes a Tirpitz I can also look at how my NC smashes a Fuso/NM. I can look at how my Fuso disintegrates Myogis. I look at my Hiryu and how I laugh in the face of each and every tier 5 ship... and that is before the patch made mid/lower tier AA weaker. Need I go on? 2 tier differences are always a pain when you are at the bottom looking up... but it swings both ways all the way until tier 10 (and to a lesser extent tier 9s).

I'm going to like your post because it is a positive one. I am impressed
-
You want your tier 8 ship to only face it's own tier or lower. Lol.

Opinion on the best Amagi setup for Team battles
ilhilh replied to ButterflyHunter2020's topic in General Discussion
Surely trying to spec towards AA just changes crap AA to slightly less crap AA (but still crap). The best way to protect the Amagi from planes is to have other things deal with the planes.- 19 replies

I'M a bit dissapointed! wows is not ewen near ww2.. :P it shoud be! you told!
ilhilh replied to korkk1's topic in General Discussion
Stop being an argumentative idiot. In fact better still.. just stay away from the thread. If you cannot understand the difference between historical capabilities (what he is talking about) and the historical actions/usage of ship types (what you have randomly decided to argue about) then this will get very tiresome. -
Low tier CVs seem to have got a definite buff because the AA changes mean they have much less problems with ship AA. High tier CVs is where the problem likely is.. however in the couple of high tier games I saw the Taihos at tier 9 performed well and in another game the Lex still managed to get 1 torp onto my full AA Montana. My highest CV is 7 and it seems largely the same to me... but I would have to play more games to make a real judgement.

If you used your forum account for your playing account we could maybe have a look and offer advice as to where the problem lies. As it is... we can only generalise that you are not doing enough damage in high tiers and in high tiers you NEED to pull your weight to stand a chance. Oh and perhaps run premium account...
