You are surprised at anyone complaining about the truly excellent NM and yet then proceed to tear the rest of the line to shreds in a single line. Sure the Colorado is slow, but that is no change from the NM or other preceding BBs. The NC does have a bit of a shotgun spread but it is still a brilliant battleship and perfectly capable of carrying teams. The Iowa has epic guns coupled with superb bow armour. Sure, it can't withstand the Yamato but nothing can so you can't mark that against it. The Montana... don't have enough games in it to make a judgement but it is difficult to play - the armour is too poor. It certainly can delete cruisers but getting in a position to do that can be really difficult. And all of them have excellent AA which makes them no easy target for CVs.

Team battles is a different kettle of fish. AS loadouts seem prevalent in team battles but everyone is talking on ts and properly working as a team. AS loadouts are still the wrong choice for randoms.

Cruiser demolition - citadels EVERYWHERE -
Stop feeding Delaci. He is probably the most argumentative person on the forum.

I rammed a lower tier DD (Wickes or Clemson) with my Gremy and survived to earn my second die hard. Wasn't expecting it at all but was laughing away to myself afterwards

8th of March premium ship giveaway for one lucky female player

Oh wow. At least this time around you are offering perhaps up to £30 to creep on some woman. The 18 pence you offered last time was a bit cheap. -

I started the US DD line the other day and found quite a few pink players in the lower tiers. In fact I had 2 games in a row where I teamkilled. One was my fault but an accident. But then the next game the pink St Louis started shooting our SC and I happened to be close in my Wickes. In fact I was passing his front so I dropped both starboard launchers at him, they didn't quite finish the job but having passed him it was a quick turn to port to get the port launchers on track. I explained my actions in chat as I was doing it (+ encouraging more people to take him down quick), the SC backed me up and I think I ended +3 kills

I haven't seen it since the channels were added but it should be in the English speaking section (near the top) -
I only got mine on Saturday so I'm pretty much stock too. Got the B hull. No point in the C hull. I'm planning on running the 15km ones with torp acceleration. This will put my torps at the same speed but + 2km range (i.e. up to 12) on the stock torps.

Early morning but no fun at all with those CVs... -
For them? Terribly! They did kill the Omaha but for the loss of all 3 of them.

I got 13 citadels in 1 game in my Gremy a few nights ago... god knows why I didn't get a screenshot:/ -
How to win vs 4 Shimakazes in 8 minutes, HaHa! ;)
ilhilh replied to Trigger_Happy_Dad's topic in General Discussion
I played in a game the other night where our team had 1x Montana, 2 x Yamato (me and other Yamato were forumites) and 1x Izumo Vs 1 x Yamato and 3x Amagi. Sounds horrible for their team right? Well, not so much as on the DD front they got 3x Shima + 1x Kagero and we got 1x Shima and I think 2x tier 8 DDs. So this sets up a fairly odd game (and one that I was fearful about winning) on islands of ice with us having a small presence near C but them owning most of the central ocean and us being stuck around the A/B mountains. Torp walls everywhere - I think I have a good screenshot of Wolf being on the wrong end of one which I'll dig out when I get home. Our shima went to A and held it against 2 Amagis, one which I sank and 1 which they sank before heading back towards B. I think I might have stolen the kill on their Yamato (other people did most of the damage) but still things looked bleak for us. I then proceeded to kill in fairly quick succession all 3 enemy Shimas in my Yamato (earning kraken unleashed) with their last shima and our Ibuki dying almost at the same time. This left a half dead Atago at 1 side of an iceberg and a half dead me at the other side of it (we are talking about 10km away). I was feeling confident about us making an epic comeback until the 10 seconds to round end timer kicked in and they won having held B and C for too much of the game It was a bit soul crushing to work so hard and then lose when we had clawed it back to us having the upper hand - their Atago came either 9th or 10th on their team just to rub it in - it looked like the soul thing he achieved was not dying and he only went behind the iceberg because I had hit him quite heavily 2 mins earlier before the shima carnage started Still, as far as losses go that was one of the most tense/fun ones EDIT: -
Yep... I prefer my secondaries kicking in somewhere around the 11km mark. Admittedly I need someone else to spot them at that distance. but they soon start scurrying for cover. The improved secondaries is for a bit of trolling, but they can be a lot of fun to have

He spends only a small amount of time proving he is 'the grand master of this game' and a huge amount of his time proving that he is a bit of an i.... -
I use manual secondaries. Sure, it is only useful in some situations but I'm quite aggressive anyway. My record damage from secondaries is over 50k when you consider just less than 30k actual dmg and 23k fire dmg.

1) and 2) - you could maybe call it too harsh but as I did make a sarcastic response but I still stand by what I was trying to say. 3) The original post from you says: I can't point to where you said it because you didn't write it but from what I read above the implication is there. Your complaint seems to be that certain vessels (lines) will not have the skill and as such will be disadvantaged. If I got that wrong then... sorry. 4) You can talk about HAS existing at varying levels but I'll counter argue about USN CAs not getting torps at 6+. There is a binary situation there. 5) Sure I get that. I have been in multiple situations in things like my Yamato vs shimas where my spotting but I don't expect to have CA tools that would make me able to spot them further away. Hell, you don't even need to have most the team dead for the team work problems to be very real, but I still contend that it doesn't follow that IJN/KM cruisers should get their own (perhaps weaker) versions of radar.

It looks like XVM for WoWs is still in active development. As a TL: DR; I will include the video showing it working at the top here and then below explain where I found it: Ok, so after 0.5.3 came out I made my stats public again but I have periodically checked the status of the apparently defunct 'in game player statistics' mod thread to see if that was true. That thread can be found here: http://forum.worldofwarships.eu/index.php?/topic/42463-0522-ingame-players-statistics/ All has been quiet on that thread for a while now but, I decided to dig a little deeper and so I went to the site where that mod was originally hosted (http://wows-mods.tk/). It is a Russian site but with a bit of translation by Chrome and even just looking at the pics you see some mods that made me sit up and look closer. Below is SS of the site: I then looked at the 'kastomziruemy' one first but nothing in the screenshots and description seems to show it. But, then I clicked on the 'statistics in battle' link and it wanted me to login, and specifically login with a ru account. So, I created a RU account and got through to the next page which looks like this: And that screenshot shows the vid posted above. Things to note: it appears like you need to pay for it (about 0.19 euros/0.15 GBP) it appears restricted to RU currently The reason I mention it is draw attention to its development and then people can keep an eye on it in future.

That is terrible design. You should be able to merc whenever you want if your team/teams are not playing.

Which forum members have you seen in random battles?
ilhilh replied to Cobra6's topic in General Discussion
Don't I know it. A game this morning in my Yamato on tears of the desert and I head to A facing off against their Yamato, an Amagi, a Zao, a shima and a Fletcher. With me I have a Montana and a shima, and eventually another shima and a kagero. I citadelled the amagi and took chunks out of the Yamato. I dodge I think 4-5 torp walls (only got hit in the last one) but each torp wall pushes our guys back and leaves me more and more exposed. In the end I die to 3 fires as the Zao invisi-fires at me to his hearts content (I had to repair flooding + 2 stage fire just before). When I die 1 friendly shima is sliding along the southern edge of the map, so about 10km behind me and several km further back than he spawned! The other 2 are slightly ahead of me in A but not enough to spot the Zao despite there being no enemy around to spot them. I had spotted and killed the Fletcher myself and their Shima was NW torping away but I just need a little bit of help to spot things. The enemy Yamato and Amagi were not much of a threat - I could angle against them nicely as they bunched up but if I had been able to see the Zao I could have killed him and then turned on the BBs. But the help just isn't there... -
torpedo bombers are broken - firing torps through solid islands
ilhilh replied to Shurz's topic in General Discussion
A collision warning tells you if you are about to hit the island but it doesn't tell us anything about the shape of the island, or much about your direction in relation to it. The game only cares if there is enough arming distance between the island and you and if there was space then they could easily have been dropped your side of the island. As others have said, a replay and/or screenshot would resolve this easily... -

No, Sturmtiger. Will probably be quite empty in the day time.
