It does seem to me like it might be ok. The tier 9 planes makes them harder to deal with but the small squad size is a definite negative. I still expect my 2/2/2 Hiryu will be able to cope with them nicely since a) I have the extra fighter and b) it doesn't really matter too much if my fighters die as long as my strike planes get through.

Yea... just because the phone rings doesn't mean you need to answer. And if they ask you can claim you were at the loo or something

I'm with MrFingers that my best guess would be the back end of 2016 for RN cruisers. They did say early on in the year that we would get 4 lines this year but it is starting to look like 3 is more likely, unless they release 2 at the same time. As a British man I do really want to see RN ships arriving but as a predominantly BB player the fact that the next line will be a battleship lines gets a definite thumbs up from me. EDIT: As always big thanks to Carnotzet for all of the time you spend doing this translation. As for how you divide up the questions, and it probably is a little late, but you should do whatever suits you best. If you have a few spare minutes and can only do 2-3 questions then that is fine, and if you wish to actually play the game and do no translation for a bit then that is fine too. Your contribution to this community is huge but it should always be done in a way that suits you.

You cannot expect AS loadouts to compete on damage but if you are wanting to help teamplay then you would hope it would increase the number of wins right? Wrong. Below are the win rates for my CVs: 67% 51% 70% 68% 57% 61% 78% 73% Guess which CV is the only one I played as AS? That's right, it is the lowest one there - the 51%. Admittedly it was Ryujo but it also has my lowest ave damage although that is perhaps to be expected. IJN does have 1 TB squad though so it is higher than you would probably get with USN CV. The fact is that you are a good player and in your DD or BB you can make good use of decent air cover to carry the team to victory but a lot of players are pretty poor and even if you stop a load of torps they will die without contributing much. If you play AS you remove your ability (as a good player) to swing things in your team's favour - you rely on the people you look after to do the damage/kills needed to secure a win. And as such your AS loadouts lose more often. Even in the games you have played in CVs your win rates seem to support my theory that AS loadouts enjoy a lower win rate. p.s. the next lowest at 57% is the Bogue... and I did run balanced (1/1/0) but that is just a pretty poor CV and nowhere near the match of the Zuiho. Glossary of terms: Fighters = air to air combat only - i.e. shooting down enemy planes. Torpedo bombers (TBs) = these cause the big damage and have the added bonus of flooding ships. Bane of enemy ships and what you use to make people cry. Dive bombers (DBs) = mediocre damage from bomb hits but can start fires. Often most effective lighting fires on a ship that has just repaired the flooding damage caused by your torps. Air superiority (AS) = your CV's deck is set up with extra fighters squadrons at the expense of the damage dealing ones (usually less TBs) Balanced = usually having a fairly equal mix of all plane types but less fighters. Can lead to having fewer squadrons in the air at any one time (e.g. 3 squads instead of 4). Strike = heavily focussed on damage at the expense of fighters. When discussing decks people often list the number of squads in fighter/TBs/DBs format so AS Ranger looks like 2/0/2, balanced ranger looks like 1/1/1 and strike looks like 0/1/3. It is quite difficult to give general rules with CVs because although you can say things like all IJN CVs have some fighters you cannot say that all CVs have 3 loadouts as the tier 4 ones only have 2 (stock and much better). The mid tier USN CVs have no fighters in their strike loadout (Bogue, Independence, Ranger and Lex) but then at 9 and 10 all loadouts have at least 1 fighter squad. USN CVs have 6 planes per squadron and IJN have 4 per squadron but a higher number of squads to play with. Another rule though is that all USN AS loadouts have no torpedo bombers and this is why their damage is so much lower than other choices. As for who to start with - I would probably say IJN. Or perhaps both tier 4s but then don't get the Bogue until you are much more used to CVs. If your aim is to play to the top of the CV trees then I'm afraid I haven't got that far but IJN are better/easier up to tier 8.

Have Europeans also less repair costs in April?

Do you guys really expect them to put something up saying 'those guys are getting X but we just wanted to tell you that you are not'? -
I had a Montana shooting my Yamato with HE just 2 nights ago. What a waste of his time.
-
lol @ the guy who thinks the Montana is better than the Yamato. It was a joke right? I don't mind the Montana but yea, you don't want a straight up duel with a Yamato. That doesn't necessarily mean not shooting at one.. it just means getting it to shoot at something else. If you do get to take on cruisers or lower tier BBs then you can have a lot of fun nuking things with its 12 guns. p.s. it upsets me how the Iowa can look so nice and yet the Montana be downright ugly!

Yamato/Fuso/Tirpitz. I do like my Warspite/Izumo as well as well but those 3 pip them. EDIT: I should have listed it above as Yamato-maxed-secondaries-troll-mode really because it is still the most entertaining way to set up your Yamato

There is and it works fine - losing a squad of DBs? No problem and I gain fighters and so can shoot down enemy planes. Losing some fighters? I can still make the enemy CVs life a misery and I get some TBS i.e. the squad that does damage! I have the Ranger and I have never, I repeat never been sniped by any other strike ranger or Hiryu in 1 go. Same goes for my Independence. And I don't agree with you. I play all classes, and in fact I play CVs least and I don't want to see AS CVs on my team. Let's look at what you see as the virtues of AS setup: Guarding your team. With 2 sets of fighters? Firstly, you can't guard everywhere so as an opposing CV I will get through and I will do damage particularly if I have fighters because I can tie up both squads of your fighters even if I lose mine. Also, even if you catch some planes you can't kill everything in time. Secondly, you will have to re-arm at some point. Thirdly, you will probably want to do some looking after your own relatively useless DBs. Scouting - For starters any planes can do that. Secondly you can only do it whilst your planes are not busy killing enemy planes. Once you kill all of theirs (lol - rarely happens) you need to re-arm whilst they are getting their next squads in the air because you can't tackle their next wave with 2/5 ammo so you are not gaining much. So whilst you are being only half successful at what you think are the pros of AS your opponent can be seriously helping the team. 1 pretty poor run of torps can still easily mean 3 hits which has outdamaged an AS setup in 1 go. Throw in the fact that their massive burst damage on 1 opponent means that they can easily tip the balance of various engagements across the battlefield either turning a flank, evening the odds or saving a friendly ship. People seem to think that the only way a CV can help the team is to shoot down enemy planes... starting with enemy fighters that can't hurt friendly ships. But I have lost count of the times where I have done something like: seen friendly CA against 2 enemy CAs and killed 1 making it a 1v1 fight killed/spotted a DD attacking a slow BB seen something like a friendly NM fighting a Nagato and taken over 50% health off the Nagato so that the NM wins seen something like a 20% health friendly Fuso battling a 50% Fuso and killed it You can't tell me that I am not protecting my team with these actions because I am directly protecting them from damage - it just in't as immediately obvious. I can knock a BB to half health before it gets into range of someone but they won't necessarily know how I have stacked the odds in their favour. There have been many ships that are only sailing around dealing damage because I got there in time to keep them alive. Back to the OP: balanced or strike are better than AS. Everything is better than AS. I would always advocate balanced as it does allow you to do some looking after your team but also lets you get in the damage that can swing games. Also, AS counters strike a lot harder than it counters balanced and it also is easier to get used to playing with a balanced loadout as opposed to strike. As soon as I see an enemy strike loadout I know 2 things: I can (and should) be aggressive with my fighters. I can't expect to stop all enemy planes but my job is to keep pushing them back towards their friendly ships making each attack take as long as possible and then thin them out as much as possible when they commit. I can pick the juiciest targets for my strike planes and make sure I line up perfectly - the only thing I need to worry about is ship AA. Strike loadout can and does work - look at THDs stats to see the proof of that, but I personally think it is a fairly selfish way of playing. You are giving up all responsibility for protecting your team mates from enemy planes - unless you CV snipe... but you should know that is coming in sufficient time to stop it being a success. at the same time you are guaranteeing that there will be enemy planes to contend with (mirrored MM). It is 100% do it yourself. What you are saying is that you will kick out crippling damage on the enemy that will outstrip what the enemy does to you and good players will make that work.

6 seconds+? Never. And more never. And how come you have only just noticed this massive change that no one else has?
-
It looks like the Atago did his best to carry you and the rest of your team.

I was playing my CV last night and I can confirm that it is still there and working.
-
Will have to see how it goes. I was never going to fall foul of any requirements and was always planning on buying it. The only thing that might have delayed it would have been its presentation through personal offers.
-
That doesn't make sense - tail of straw? My point is that if you have conviction in what you are saying why do you need to create a fake account to hide behind. Grow a pair.

You seem to have logged into the wrong account. How about you login to your real account and explain what you mean?

Yesterday was a bit of a pig of a day for me. In the end it was 7 games and 3 wins 1st game in a Ranger - enemy ranger is a strike loadout. I shoot down 10 of his planes but then head to rearm. His 3x DBs then take a fairly small chunk out of our kagero who can see my TBs/DBs in the air and tells everyone to report me. I had a few choice words for him as my fighters took to the air again (my next barrage took 14 of his planes out). Ended up with 3 kills but we lost horribly. I came 2nd in my CV... kagero came 9th. 2nd game Ranger - another 3 kills and a hard fought win. Top of my team. Wasn't helped by our Shokaku who deliberately waited until my planes were in combat and then strafed mine and enemy planes. twice. The fun bit of this game came from the AFK enemy tirpitz. In an attempt to co-ordinate with the shokaku (before I realised he was a selfish idiot) I had followed him around the map edge to CV snipe but being a) further away and b) slower planes meant that he had dealt with the enemy lex before I got close... but what I did see was an AFK tirpitz. So, I burned him and smashed 5 torps into his side. He lived as he bothered to get back to his PC and went absolutely ape**** in chat. After 3 separate insults I told him he shouldn't have been afk. He told me (with yet more insults) that he was loading in. My torps hit him at about the 15 minute mark.... so 1 minute of countdown and 5 minutes of game and he wants me to believe he was still loading. Sorry but no. I know some people have issues that mean in can be 2-3 mins but I'm not believing anyone who tells me it takes 6 mins to load in. If that was the case you wouldn't play the game... surely? 3rd game Farragut - top of team, loss. 4th game Farragut - top of team, loss. 5th game Yamato - top of team win (at this point I was sulking for my 2 Farragut losses and just wanted to blow stuff up!) 6th game Gremy - top of team win. 7th game -Yamato - 5th place. loss. So, I might not have had all losses but 5 games top player and a 6th 2nd did not translate into the appropriate number of win and just made my shoulders sore.

The Izumo is a great ship.

From what I have read from various testers before their release the tier 8 is one of the worst in the line so well done for free exping to there! As others have said, since you have only played the tier 8 you should really say that you find 'it' ok, not 'them' ok.

This. Firstly I am working. Secondly I am moving house and then when I finish I am going on holiday for a week. I will muchos appreciate any answers that get transcribed -
I think he phrased it badly but was meaning that he is is 80% in games containing all 3 of those tiers at once i.e. tier 10 games. I don't think he was really asking to be tier 7 games only... or at least I hope not!

The problem is that your average damage is only 27k in your NO. I'm not great at CAs but I do significantly more. I know you have said that this is because you die quickly to higher tier ships but you need to work on staying alive longer so that you can get the damage in - there is a fine line between being too passive and too aggressive in a CA and the punishment is often swift and deadly but it can be achieved - you need to be constantly adjusting your position based on what you see on the mini-map and have plans to get out of trouble before it ends you.
