I see they improved stock Izumo. I saved a substantial amount of free EXP to avoid the hell that is stock Izumo but it is nice to see that they are making it more tolerable.

I'm exclusively playing my Tirpitz and Yamato. If I happen to complete the damage and still need main battery hits then I'll switch to Mahan/Mogami probably. I also warned the gf that this week I had a deadline to meet so she might have to do her own thing whilst I blow stuff up

8.5-9 mil dmg and about 2700 main battery hits. I have some work to do, but it is achievable.

I like the accuracy improvement for high tier US BBs. I still have the NC and Montana sat in port, rarely moving.

I don't have mine specced for AA, as I feel at these tiers it will never be effective enough and as such it seems like a bit of a waste. My Hiryu does shoot down stuff - not much stuff, but definitely some.

What you did was sit at the map edge and let planes fire torps into you - you certainly weren't doing any of the following: putting pressure on a flag damaging the enemy team You can complain at others all you want but if you want to understand why you have an average damage in a Yamato below what I did with my tier 8 battleships then you need to start looking at yourself rather than the occasional AFK player. The AFK player might make your team lose a game you could have won but it not the reason that you only hit 2 shells in 9 minutes - that ser, is your problem.

Put some camo on your ship. EDIT: I realise this doesn't answer your problem complaint, but since they add bonuses... why wouldn't you? SECOND EDIT: 2 shell hits after 9 minutes - were you AFK?

Yesterday I saw cro_pwr in his Baltimore on Islands of Ice last night. I was on the other team in my Yamato. We had a few small run ins (he set me on fire, I got a few fairly low dmg hits on him) but largely he was... elsewhere to me - like he didn't want a Yamato shooting at him or something! We won relatively easily with him being about the last on his team to die. The very next game in my Yamato was on Trap and I was against Reyte who was in a 3 man div in his CV... I think the hakuryu. I told my team to 1) do not go to the deathtrap that is A and 2) to be wary of Reyte's division because they were likely to be good. So, of course the Lemminged to A, we lost our carrier and at some point I ate about 6 torps from Reyte. His platoon mate in the Moskva did sit dead in the water and not seem to know he was spotted so I got a nice double citadel on him, but that was nowhere near enough to deal with the tide of enemies that swarmed over us and it was a horrific defeat.

That is crazy. He should have gone pink far sooner so that his team could have... dealt with him

I am active in the forum and yet never really notice the forum competitions. It is perhaps little surprise that new/prospective players do not know they happen.

The more people expect tirpitz drivers to be clueless players having their first taste of tier 8, the more of a shock it will be when they meet me in mine

Arrogant? How was I being arrogant? I'm happy to watch their stuff but they have a role as community contributors. It just feels like if some starts a thread asking which CV line to pick you will reply with with videos of you or if they mention destroyers there will be multiple videos of. Or even a quote of yourself with some videos in. Maybe other people don't see it this way but it feel like you use any question asked as a way in to talk about you. It isn't specific to this thread. A thread title 'promoting teamwork'? I have participated in several threads about teamplay - there was plenty of discussion around it when ranked first started. You haven't invented the wheel with your discussion. And on the specific subject of this thread - just because I don't particularly like your way self-promoting style of promoting teamplay does not mean I do not like teamplay and try and encourage it in game - in fact, to take the points I made about you and decide that I am "full of myself" and "think don't need any teamwork" is a very egocentric conclusion isn't it? ;)

I feel like THD thinks most of his points come from just playing well, and the fact is that it rarely generates them on its own. I've had games with a 6 kill hard carry. I've had games with twice the exp of the next guy and it doesn't translate into karma. It is definitely something that is driven by making yourself visible in chat in a positive way mixed with some good play. However, from looking at the forums a lot of THDs posts largely seem to be him showing off with thin veil of being helpful thrown over the top. I have tried to give him the benefit of the doubt but it doesn't matter how many winking smilies he does it still looks very egotistical to me... EDIT: actually, the smilies totally make it worse. ;)

My point is I chose the speed skill (currently on my Fubuki captain) based on the fact I would ultimately want it on my Shima when I eventually get there and now I might not want it at all.

If it was to happen then why only 9 and 10? My fubuki with the speed increase would protest this restriction.

This is a good point. It would be incredibly easy to get a new captain (3 skills point sfor 25 dubloons), and then run it through all 10 cruisers on a 3x times weekend. Do that for 3 days and you have a decent captain from scratch which next to no effort.

Oh wow. So selecting squadrons and left clicking on targets, rinse, repeat was enough for you... and indeed actually fun? But then you realised there was an option to actually use some skill and judgement and it was too much for you. TBH I am really glad you stopped playing because if you were playing then you might end up on my team and that would have made my job even harder. EDIT: 5 games in a CV. I see.
