Lol this thread with everyone certain they didn't get them. When the game came out there was fewer than 12 levels. As they expanded it wasn't just a case of sticking new levels on the end, they inserted them in the middle. So, rank 12 now was originally something like rank 9, and if you got to rank 9 when it was the top you got the reward for that level. Then when they inserted a new level 2 and 4 and later another level at 4 you automatically gained those levels but only the rewards for the newly inserted levels. However, the last level was added a long time ago, perhaps 9 months ago. I remember some people being confused and expecting the top level reward multiple times but no one thought that they straight out didn't receive anything.

I played 4 games today. 1 in Black Swan (loss) and 1 in Weymouth (win) that were both low XP games. I then played a game in Bismarck and ShineyHorse which were decent games and I got 14k XP total and 2 containers. I thought it was only going to count base XP so it was a pleasant surprise to get 2 containers so easily (3 mid-high tier games should do it). I also might make it so I open all of my containers on a Saturday or something so I have a good few at once. Just because...

Played 4 games last night and all losses. Made me very grumpy. But our CV had his fighters n your spawn line not moving. Eventually near the end he said 'well why don't you try killing the Des Moines then?' As though he couldn't have avoided you. I capped A but then the Iowa was decapping B and we needed that flag to stand a chance of winning so I went there but you radared me and then killed me. Very mean.

CE is increased survivability. Definitely more useful SE but the points others have made are valid. I go for DE on my Benson/Fletcher because I play randoms and want to watch the world burn.

I use both reports and compliments. Often it can be harder to see someone's positive contribution so I often run out of reports first but I do try and make sure people have got them if I notice their play being beneficial to the team/me. I also do sometimes compliment the enemy but that is far rarer than it being to my team mates. Ranked definitely makes it easier to spot and compliment good play. My karma is at its highest ever level since ranked has started and people can really see what I do more... and also perhaps my mouth has not gotten the better of me so much so I haven't lost it all again!

But again, that also depends on a lot of factors. As much as camo can give lots of nice bonuses most will likely end up being the standard type 5 camo you can get for credits... or perhaps even worse. There is weightings for rewards from supercontainers (i.e. most likely to get 'lots of credits' and least likely to get a free ship) but that weighting is also applied to things like flags and camos - you are more likely to get the ramming flags than you are the ESCL flags etc. It has been mentioned elsewhere in the thread that improvements in money earnings only work if you are using DCII on a regular basis and the same would go for camo. Given the multiple people I have seen in premium ships without their free (and with improved bonuses) camo on I could easily argue that getting camos isn't going to be value for money for everyone.

Well, it might be a better idea to open them the next time you fire up the game... no point opening one that might give premium if you are only going to be playing one more game and are not free the next night.

I have only seen leaked data so it is not for certain that the chances will remain the same on live.

Played 2 games yesterday in my Shokaku. Game 1: Easy win. It was Trident and in trying to get their Amagi who solo pushed towards B I spotted their CV who hadn't moved. I ignored him and put 5 torps into the Amagi but our Benson had pushed through B and our team destroyed the CV easily with my spotting and then a half dead Amagi didn't last much longer. 2-0 up in about 3 minutes. Game 2: It was an easy win but we lost... So, 1 DD per side. Enemy DD in a Benson* says something along the lines of 'Oh god, so the CV [edited]have dragged their way to this bracket'. So, I promptly put 2 torps into him and left him on low HP. Later I spotted him until he was dead . Things were all looking good but then our team suffered 2 detonations. 2! And it wasn't our Fubuki, it was an Atago and then our Tirptiz. Completely altered the game from something relatively balanced (although 1 DD to 0 tips things in our favour if you ask me) to an easy win for them. Luckily for me I pumped out enough damage and kept my star at least but we totally got screwed over by the 'fun and engaging' mechanic and those guys all lost a star. *incidentally, although above you average player he is also the same 7-8% behind my wr in both randoms and ranked. But I am the retard apparently.

I saw Crysantos last night in his Minotaur on Islands of Ice. I was on the opposite team in my Yamato... and I had recently watched Falmu's vid on it so I was painfully aware of what he would do if I sat broadside. He did sit fairly central in smoke and send some volleys my way but I was angled and not a good target. However, I did get massively out of position with my angling so I was wasting my time. Not sure what happened to him in the end but we won quite comfortably. P.S. bloody hate that map.

I get it, it looks like it is going to be a loss, and you might lose another star. You might have done nothing wrong - you might have actually done everything right but it isn't enough. -OR- You die early on. You thought you were playing with the team but when it came down to it the support isn't there. Right at the critical moment. You sink. Now you have to watch and pray that the potatoes in your team can somehow survive without you. You know you could have carried the game if only the team just played their part but they couldn't even do that right. Who's fault is it? who? Do you?: Check the mini-map. Who is at the back? Who is on their own? Who is at A when everyone else is at B? Look at the team composition. A Kutuzov? How could I die when we have an AA cruiser? Look who is dead? crap, it is only me... well who screwed up and allowed this to happen? who? Blame it on the CV. Of course it is the CV. The blame culture in ranked is thriving and often misguided. Ranked is pretty high intensity - even in the occasions not much is happening you are concentrating hard because mistakes can change the tides of battle in an instant and conversely spotting and exploiting other people's mistakes can transform your fortunes. And yet, far too many people feel qualified to assess the contribution of their team mates having had little oversight of their gameplay for the preceding 5 minutes or more. It is crazy. I'm not saying you can't always see it as I have seen stupidity beyond comprehension: DDs chasing CVs they don't see for 10 minutes... BBs going off on their own and YOLOing. NCals sitting bow on until it gets too hot and then deciding "if I can just turn out then I can heal up and carry on the fight"... DDs entering a cap they cannot possibly take, or indeed leave alive. Kutuzovs who don't even smoke up before they die. DDs entering cap and sitting broadside to known enemy DDs who torp the smoke. ...but I am trying to say that often most people don't have a clear picture before they go off the rails hurling insults and blame around. And I included the bottom option on the things people might check as I have mainly been playing CV and the amount of times I have been blamed straight off the bat is ridiculous. "As usual our CV does nothing" says the half dead Hipper. At that point I had 2 of our 2 kills. "I haven't seen a single plan above me". says the Kutuzov. Ignoring the fact that he was just wrong... he is in a fricking Kutuzov. "Our CV has done nothing all game" says someone in a BB who has actually posted on the forum a little bit. He comes bottom. I come third. "We lose because of our CV" says a guy last night only for me to come top and retain my star. Another guy said that and a) we didn't lose and b) he was literally behind my CV and heading further away in his Bismarck. "Where is our CV?" I hear frequently usually right after I have typed "rearming" in chat. Now, I'm not a precious little flower who can't deal with such comments but it is just frustrating/ridiculous when it is so strikingly obvious that they haven't a clue what you have been doing one way or another. Oh, and many people don't have a decent understanding of CV gameplay in ranked i.e. what and how you can support your team and perhaps more importantly what you cannot do. So can we just stop doing that? Or even when things are obvious instead of simply finger pointing maybe try something like "you can't do X when they are doing Y because that crapgets you dead".

When I first got the Gneisenau it took me a while to adjust - I would find 6 salvoes in I would be on 7k damage having tried to shoot crusiers. And it wasn't like I was giving the wrong lead... I would have shells going amidships at cruisers 10km away but some shells would land closer to me and some would overshoot and it made me angry. As soon as I switched to shooting BBs I found the damage mounting up - even when you don't citadel you can regularly do high damage salvoes. But, that was the early days - I soon got used to her and she has been a pleasure to play. Speed, punchy guns, nice armour, nice AA (even without speccing for it), decent secondaries and torps... what is not to like? If the Shiney Horse is the natural predator of cruisers then the Gneisenau has the edge against other BBs but both are very versatile. ...anyway, I elited her on Friday and sold her but only because I already have the Scharnhorst at tier 7 and I am planning on keeping the Bismarck, FdG and GK along with my Tirpitz so that is enough German BBs for me.

Saw quite a few forumites this weekend in ranked: Niibler on my team in his Benson. Was a horrible loss. Bakyro on my team in his Chapyev. Another loss. Worlok 2 games in a row in my team, I think in his Atago but might have been Kutuzov. Certainly won the first... potentially won both. Zerstoeroer in his Bismarck on the enemy team. At the start he said 'may the best CV decide'... and I played my part. He was the last non CV player and I sank him. Shineytoof on my team in his Amagi. We won an incredibly close and tense game. A game which was made more tense by a guy called loordbeny (who only posts in the Polish section) but he died first and spent about 10 minutes insulting me about how I had made the team lose (which we didn't). Apparently even if he sees your fighters locked into combat with the enemy CV, and then you say 'rearming' in chat he still expects you to magic some fighters out of your [edited] and protect him when he is sat stationary behind an island. It totally wasn't him dying first that made it harder for us - it was us. I was a little preoccupied with trying to win but I did enjoy the exchange 5 minutes into his insults that went something like: him: You have made us lose. I bet you are some kind of potato/tomato me: 60% wr him: and about 20k average damge him: Carried by a division of better players me: 58% solo (technically 58.88 at the time) ...and then after the game I looked him up and his stats and he was a decent player... it's just that his stats were all behind mine which made me laugh after he had played the stats card. I also found it bizarre that he rounded on me when our Fubuki spawned north on North and ran round the edge to the SW corner to fight their CV and died... to their CV. Apparently that is acceptable.

Weekday mornings are always v quiet and it usually picks up in the afternoon a bit but evenings/weekends are where it gets busiest

I think if I saw a patronising question about bots I'd probably ignore it too. As it happens, I pretty much always chat at battle start to help organise but I don't feel the need to answer such questions...

Does only seem to affect some place. God knows why people suffering from lag still insist on playing ranked though. Suckers for punishment. (and unfortunately punishing their team mates too!)
