Ahuehuehue 10/10. Szczególnie, że na niemcach jestem lepszy. Bierz dalej Last Stand na niemiaszkach, entertain me. AFT to wydane 4 punkty w szajs. Tyle. Jak masz pytania to pisz privy, to temat Nephilimera, więc niech on daje dobre rady. -

I think the real question is: who cares about rankeds?

What you stated is true, and I don't think we argued about the capability of sailors from one or other side. I only could not agree with statement, that RN and it's ships, were inferior, overrated, failure etc. as one of the posters here suggested. I'm not as well informed as you in terms of details, but I'm well informed in wider perspective - at least when it comes to Atlantic. What I said was, that RN did it's job, and did it very well. The KM was small, but it was also fairly modern, and Germany also tends to have very good tactic and gunnery schools - RN falls bit short here. But both of their navies did their job, and that's what matter. Of course, KM is, well, controversial for many reasons, but overall, also performed well.

[0.5.1] Wargaming actually fixed the US cruisers
C4PT41N_0BV10US replied to Sander93's topic in Cruisers
I recently played Des a lot. It got better, that's for sure. I rarely drop below 100k average, and actually right now im looking at 90k average on this bad boy. AP works against cruisers from around 12 - 13 km resulting in multiple citadels and short work. No Zao/Hindenburg can go toe to toe with Des on close ranges. Above 13 km though it's still a gamble, and above 15 km you will lose more likely. Against BB's I still tend to go for superstructure, it grants 6 - 8k salvoes if I can land them reliably.I still shoot mostly HE, but AP is more viable on close combat brawls. Actually, I think it might go up in ranking soon. -
well. I'm done.

Where did anybody claimed that it would be easy victory? Any source about that opinion? And again, they sunk the biggest BB in the world at that time. Losing 1 fairly outdated BC. I think the USN would happily trade New Mexico for Yamato anytime. You fail to grasp the most important thing at naval warfare. Winning. And RN won the war at Atlantic and Mediterrean. They maintained control, maintained convoys, sunk what could be sunk. That's a victory and purpose of naval warfare. Same what they did at WW I. And symetric deja vu? I hope you're not talking about Jutland.
-
Yes, what were the results? The threat was nullified. Bismarck was sunk and RN could proceed with business as usuall. Also, if you bring the biggest BB on earth on its maiden cruise and get it sunk shortly after it leaves base, with in fact an exchange 1 for 1 - that's not the result you want to get as a Kriegsmarine sailor. Merit of german sailors is their own, they don't need biased comments how their enemy was inept at everything, except sunking their vessel. I would say losing whole flotilla of modern destroyers, displacing 2000 tons and more is a rather big loss. Channel Dash is in fact a dramatic event. First of all, the necessity of changing your ports is saying much about dominance of the seas, second of all, they made it to Norway, but only just. Severe damage was inflicted on Scharnhorst and Gneisenau. Third, Channel Dash again, didn't change anything about the dominance of RN on the Atlantic. You could move Scharnorst and Gneisenau along the whole coast of Europe and call it a success - but it's only a success cause they didn't do much apart it. That is true. RN wasn't as good as it was at WW I, and already it was the biggest, but not so sure about the best navy. But, it doesn't change the fact that they did their job and did it splendidly. And their fleet had one of the best classes on the world. Saying otherwise is just ridiculous. The problem is - Norway campaign wasn't the RN campaign. RN was there to provide support and secure the transports - which they did. It was a RN decisive victory, but a UK loss. The size of the Kriegsmarine is irrelevant. You think UK would not secure political alliance with US meaning they could focus on European theater? We can't use this kind of arguments - yes, the Kriegsmarine was small. But UK wouldn't enter Washington Treaty if Kriegsmarine was a threat to it's supremacy on EU waters. They had enough DD. They didn't have enough corvettes and frigates.

Not really. Atlantic Ocean was dominated by RN, and any opinions that "state" the RN was tragic, arogant etc. are just silly. Their ships overrated? Colony class cruisers being one of the absolute best - protection, durability, radar tech, seaworthines, firepower - hard to match. Vanguard being top notch BB, much better then Iowa in many regards (shame on the guns though). Tribal class DD? Damn elite. And german navy? Bismarck - biggest BB in the whole world at that time? Sunk. Admiral Graff Spee? 280 mm guns? Sunk. Basically, every vessel the RN tracked down was sunk sooner or later, or confined to it's port with minimal impact on war itself. There was talk how RN engaged Bismarc despite having "inferior" ships. Well, that is called duty and understanding what you have to do. Demise of HMS Hood is more an tragic accident, then sure outcome of battle. Now, casualties were indeed high. But RN did what it should - dominated the Atlantic Ocean and made sure that Mediterrean Sea was still under more or less control of the allies. And it is no small feat, bearing in mind the vast space that RN had to secure - including the Pacific Ocean. They did their job, that's what matters at war. You can't just belittle RN and go on with arguments that "lulz but they only fought Italians" - this alone makes any discussion hard. Pacific Ocean was a vastly different theater of war. First few months of the war were dominated by IJN because of the Pearl Harbour attack. But very soon the USN were back in the fight, which is also an success that is often overlooked. But more or less, from night fighting around Guadalcanal the IJN supremacy is over. There are of course battles that shows the capability of IJN tactics (Tassafaronga), but it doesn't change the fact, that after night fighting around Savo island IJN couldn't show cobat prowess they did shortly after Pearl Harbour - their enemy had tools to fight them this time. 1943 is USN finishing tactics and replenishing fleet, 1944 is just a cleanup. Fun fact - did you know that Japanese tried to get oil from potatoes cause of the fuel shortage in 1944? All in all, it's easy to get biased or subjective in your opinion, and fanboyism is a common thing - everybody is a fanboy though. Key is to look at the facts.

It depends. Now we know it, cause we're thinking about it from a perspective. What if Jellicoe actually used that and ventured on another sortie or demonstration at the same time, given the knowledge they had from SMS Magdeburg? Now, we know they didn't, but German High Command took a risk.

Something is seriously broken with AP shells hitting cruisers
C4PT41N_0BV10US replied to _DQ_'s topic in General Discussion
And that's why all of them have lower average dmg for every tier right? Cause they reliably deal dmg? BB on tier VIII will reliably deal around 60 - 80k dmg. CA will do around 30 - 60 (in case of Mogami that is, NO and AH will do around 30 - 40). -
whats the point of playing bbs now?
C4PT41N_0BV10US replied to PzAbteilung's topic in General Discussion
And yet, all your BB's have better averages then CA's. -

I would say it's hardly balanced from tier VIII upwards. Lack of CV on high tier mean BB form the main damage source, and don't really have any real counter present (exluding Midway once in a 10 matches). DD's are becoming less of a nuisance with flying scouting/fighter planes spotting torps, or stealth cruisers keeping a screen. Sadly, this leaves to very stagnant and boring games on tier X. Cruisers are scared of fighting, so they just keep back, sniping stuff from far away, meaning game is much slower - hence the Zao being one really good cruiser from tiers VIII, IX and X which operates on 203 mm guns. DD's gameplay is broken all together - you spend whole game shooting stealth torps hoping one of 15 spread will hit. BB's are just left to their own devices, killing stuff and being very very hard to sink by anything but other BB's (I mean average players): this is all my personal opinion, and it's written with dissapointment in heart, so it's propably biased 5.1 was a bad patch. No cruiser should be able to fight BB's the way they did, and no BB should have experience this kind of gameplay. That's true. But also, from other perspective, games were much more brutal, at least that was my point of view. You "could" actually do what CA were meant to do, scout, engage, fight, dodge cap/decap, hunt DD's - and all that without fear of being suddenly evaporated by some salvo coming from nowhere. That meant CA players were much more aggressive. That was very refreshing from me, and I enjoyed this 5.1 version for a brief change, but I was unsatisfied by the way the CA class changed, I was satisfied with the gameplay change (I know BB's had a lot of issues, but still, it was much more enjoyable for me, both in BB - took some NC out for few spins, and in CA). Now, we talk a lot how BB's were hurt, how they gameplay was broken. But what about CV's (not even mentioning my beloved CA's - at least we can play)? What about totally vanished Hakus and Taihos? What about Midway/Essex players waiting 40 minutes for a game? Now, this is truly unfair and broken. To hell with BB's man, bring back CV's! So, the 5.1.1 is live, BB's are same as they were before, or some say even better, CV are still missing, DD's broken, and CA's underpowered. I hardly call that state of things a balanced game. Kuma sealclubbing for me until next patch.

Des Moines vs Baltimore, Des Moines utter [edited]! Please fix?
C4PT41N_0BV10US replied to Mirawenya's topic in Cruisers
Whoah man, that's a lot of credits for almost 160k dmg. Good game though. Des can perform, no one denies that. But my question is: is she tougher then she was before 5.1? -
german cruiser AP and HE, Whats your game WG ?
C4PT41N_0BV10US replied to lethalbizzell's topic in General Discussion
fix'd! I think that main reason is high HE dmg and fire chance from IJN CA's - you often target BB's and setting them on fire will boost your average dmg considerably. That's my opinion at least -
