Indeed, we can discuss if Kongo is more of a BC or BB, same with Amagi, especially with "fantasy" hull. But, same goes with Seydlitz and other BC of the Hochseeflotte - they were more of a fast BB's then BC. So, all in all, I wouldn't count the class type as a argument against putting them in BB tech tree. But, german line actually has enough real BB's to fill the whole thing nicely.

It still happens a lot. And I'm a bit puzzled here. I think it's kinda borked gameplay - wise. CV's in my mind are the hammer for BB's. But, truth be told, Games are much more dynamic when those Shimakazes are in danger and can be sink. Personally, I prefer working with my CV (CA's are my ship of choice) - I just ask CV to spot them for me and I take them out or force to retreat. But, honestly, I don't have a slightest idea how to balance CV and DD interference and spotting mechanic. On the other hand, it just feels wrong for CV to go after DD first thing in game. Sinking them is not that easy, but it is doable after some practice and skill - hell, I'm doing it more often in my Lexington now, and I'm pretty crappy CV skipper. On the other hand, CV should be able to deal damage to DD and at least try to protect himself with his planes. But how do we balance it? I have no idea

No CV? No spot? Big happy smile on DD skipper face. Buff to torps visibility and nerf to BB mobility is just icing on the cake.

We already have Kongo and Amagi in BB tech tree, so I wouldn't be surprised. But I'm cool with low level Seydlitz premium (even better, since I can earn creds AND sail one of the best looking ship ever, without grinding whole line). That's true. Forgot about Kaiser!

Well, the weirdest boner I had when I watched this vid. German WWI BB's will be played HARD by me. I hope for Konig class - this sexy BB will be the one I'll keep in port for sure. WWII designes are, well, unimportant. But Helgoland? Oh gawd I hope for Seydlitz/Derfflinger class too. As for UK CA's - I hope they were just keeping stuff quiet before the storm. I want my Colony, County, Town classes now. Or I will go full Boston Tea Party mode on their butts!

Mogami will have a problem. Atago was worse then Mogami (and in my opinion is still worse then Mogami, or just different) before 5.1 Buuuut, in 5.1 Atago got mobility buff and Damage Control Party - which made him much much better cruiser. Atago now place second on my personal list of tier VIII CA's. Mogami also has this funny bug, or whatever this is, that against well armoured tier VIII ships you score a lot of consecutive 0 dmg hits. Your two initial salvoes (on fresh target) deals shitload of damage for such small caliber, but after that it drops to 0 pretty fast. Atago on the other hand, has 203 mm guns, which are not affected as much by armour. So, he got mobility buff, damage control, he got slightly better armour, and better torp angles = he will trump Mogami every way possible. 203 mm on Mogami are decent, but they lack range. 155mm with AFT and BFT got reload, range and okayish damage. If the changes to AFT will make it to live, and Mogami won't be compensated when equipped with 203 mm guns... Well, it will fight with New Orleans for the glorious "most useless ship ever" award. He will get rotflstomped by anything he meets. BB will just massacre it. So, yeah, I think Mogami players might be kinda worried. And I know how it feels since I love New Orleans, but sold it permanently this time because it's just a pain to play. No damage, no armour, no presence at the battlefield. Meanwhile, BB are still mostly the same as they were 3 patches before. The rest of your rant is more or less clueless, so I'll just skip it. -

Yorck fighting vs 2 Furutakas with 45% win rate win? Yorck is amazing! I disagree. Sander93 is the best DM player. He hitted amazing results when the meta was full of BB's. Rest of his US CA's have also the best results. I mean, his Baltimore and NO are putting me to shame. I have 363 games played with Des, 91k average, 60% WR and I hold the global record for the best exp and damage on this ship. I played Des from beginning of OBT till now. And believe me, no ships is so prone to metashift as this vessel. Des is great when he can fight CA's. He is a god damn beast when you catch Zao or Hindi at 11 km or below. Sheer DPS and potential to explode your opponent with multiple citadel hits make it a monster. But, you need to take a lot of risks to put yourself in that situation. And you are also at the mercy of spotting mechanic. Zao can dish his damage from 16 km away with no problems. Des, having low shell speed, as well as high arc, means it's much harder to hit anything once shells begin to take this high arc. Zao's shell travel at much steeper angle, so it's much easier to hit superstructure - Des either hits most of it salvoe, or you miss completely. But, to sum it up, Des doesn't need buff as such right now. Whole meta is in some weird spot right now, which kinda suits Des, but hinders the overall gameplay. But if meta shifts, and BB's will return, and MM will not be clogged with tier VIII CA's, but tier IX and X + BB's - Des will fall off and we will come to point zero.- 32 replies

I'm long standing veteran of tabletop gaming, and one of the best tournaments on our scene had similar format. You created 2 different roosters, and you had to play both roosters during the duration of the tournament. It created lots of fun during preparation for the tournament, as people were gimping their roosters to be suitable to counter their counter (melee army vs shooting army etc.). Also it added a element of surprise. I'm all for as much diversity as possible, but in this format, 2 vs 2 without CV, roosters were pretty static. BB and DD all the way. By submitting 2 roosters, and each one has to be played each round, you indeed force peps to take some risks and come with thinking out of the box. As for changing team comp in training room - it was something we should clarify better. Host (first position in bracket) should create the room with one ship already picked, then guest joins with one ship. Then hosts wingman joins, and second guest close the draft. Winner continues to be the host. As fot the tournament - yeah, it was fun, although we need to organise it with more then 2 people. 2 guys for rules and brackets, 2 for contact and 1 trouble-shooter + few streamers. Depends on how big the boost is. If it would plop my AA guns about 25% - I would think about it, but only after seeing how meta shifted, but, oh well, I have enough cash to just reset skills on my captain if I'll need it. Captain skills should be a bit more flexible, something like LoL masteries etc. Like, you pay 1000 dubloons and you "unlock" free captain option, so you can change skills for your captains at will. Or, make it available for silver also.

It's hard to tell exaclty, but from what I understand, secondaries and AA guns will still continue to fire when opponent reach their range. Skill will only let you focus the target, and also provide the accuracy boost.

Just so we all are clear. "Manual" targeting means the same stuff we're doing now. So ctrl+click on target. Only now it's a skill and it actually improves accuracy and performance for secondaries. Some dudes think it will be like firing your main guns.

We streamed the semifinals and finals, but it's in Polish. I'm still new to this whole streaming stuff, even more the export and vid maker, so unfortunately I don't think we will have such highlight, but I'll try to at least make one game highlight with EN commentary (also, let me ask EvillSeeQu, as he also casted with me). I think, that for CV's the borderline format is 5 vs 5. 5 vs 5 might also diminish numbers of teams quite a bit (although we might mitigate that by lowering tiers). I think, that we should do similar tournament next, but with improved organisation and better prizes. After that we can change the format.- 131 replies

We're thinking about some very cool improvements. I wanted this tournament to be relatively small - 20 teams tops. This way, if we screwed up something, the backlash would be small, and we could fix the errors in time. Things I want to implement in future tournament: 1. live bracket that is visible at all times, so you can see who is against who, how much points you have etc. Additionally, a timer would be set for each round (now we know that BO3 round takes about 1,5 hour), so everybody would exactly know how long till next battle - that would also minimise the numbers of questions orgs would have to face. You just plop a link on forum, or on specifically designed graphic, so everybody interested would have constant view what's happening at the moment. 2. Enlisting process must be more strict. One month before the tournament we place the info, access must be closed at least 3 days before the tournament. 3. Set roosters for each team. Each team must prepare 2 valid roosters for the tournament, and send them to orgs when the access is closed ie. a) Rooster v1 Player X Benson/ Player Z Nagato b) Rooster v2 Player X Tirpitz/Player Z Myoko Each rooster should be played at least once each round. 4. Games are always at least BO3. 5. Implement point system. 6. Prepare streams for different languages (this didn't work at the current tournament, due to the lots of question I had to answer - place for improvement) - cooperate with different streamers Polish/English/German 7. Prepare a special teamspeak - either a whole different server (ie. WoWs tournaments, or whole different section divided into rooms in one of the existing teamspeak servers) 8. Prepare a person responsible for in-game chat. At least, that's the stuff I've thinked about right now- 131 replies
