Admit it WG, you have absolutely 0 idea how to balance CVs. You don't know what to do and now you're panicking and making all sorts of bad choices that are making it even worse. How about just making carriers have limited number of planes that replenish squadrons immediately, like in RTS days. If I'm being deplaned at least I don't want to wait end of the battle to get a full squadron lmao, at least give me 2 more minutes of gameplay before I get fully deplaned.

I paid for it as well, and I just had battle in which I was against tier 10 ships like yamato, montana and other lovely AA ships, got deplaned in less than 3 mins and then had to go secondary knife fight, died, lost, defeat..... It's okay. I don't see the problem. I just paid 50€ to get a carrier that literally can't even release the rockets/torpedoes/bombs before all the planes die....unless it's against tier 6-7....which is never

^^ This Punishment for bad decisions and reckless play MUST exist for a CV too. But there has to be some compromise. While it's true that CVs get murdered more rare than any other class in the game, they still bring most points for the team that scores the kill. And if that's not enough, how about getting a couple of points, or maybe only 1 point for the enemy team for every attack plane(non-fighter) plane they destroy. That might seem like it's nothing but in reality I've see countless times where one team won by literally just a few points......CVs should think twice before attacking anyone if the battle is nearly over and they're leading by only a few points :D

Oh hey, it's Kaga at around 1:46

While I wouldn't 100% agree that CVs are still "extremely powerful" I too had some pretty awesome games in which I did over 100k damage and lots of achievements(even kraken with GZ) and all that in update 0.8.5 so...... I think people need to stop whining and bi*ching because it's not impossible to be good in a CV now, it's only impossible to absolutely own everyone you face. And you need to actually use your brain and think, not just fly around like a God from above and striking everyone you choose like a Zeus with a lightning....

CVs unplayable? Just have a look at this..... didn't want double post, but I want everyone to see that CVs are not broken....they are actually most balanced than they ever were before... 20190629_103811_PGSA518-Graf-Zeppelin_35_NE_north_winter.wowsreplay

I don't know why everyone is complaining about AA being too much. Imma post a replay here of graf zeppelin that everyone thinks is garbage high caliber, close quarters, double strike, kraken, around 150k dmg IIRC 20190629_103811_PGSA518-Graf-Zeppelin_35_NE_north_winter.wowsreplay talks about CV being broken now IMO as a CV player is bu**shi*, they're not broken, they're closest to balanced now than they ever were...

Would be great idea if CVs had the option when they get deplaned, in a sense that they only have a few planes (1-2) of all types of squadrons, that they could scrap all those few planes of each type into one big squadron of any plane type. That along with the regeneration mechanic would be a way to make CVs still operate even with maximum plane losses edit: or even better, enable and also disable the regeneration of 1 or 2 plane types to accelerate the restore time of the remaining planes.

First of all I'm not mixing things up, I know it's about all carriers. And second, while GZ has fast planes, they're still not fast enough...nor fast as they were before 0.8.4

I had a few battles in Graf and, since I always end up in tier 10 anyway, did better than before this AA change. I mean, I lose planes either way, but with the buffs I was actually able to make damage even in tier 10 battle. And not insignificant damage, I'm talking ~100k dmg

Hello everyone, unfortunately my only tier 8 premium (for credits and free exp grind) is unfortunately graf zeppelin and(yes, I've written "unfortunately" 2 times, get over it).......recently people have literally started to mock me in game, for trying to actually do some damage. I would even provide a replay to prove, but, in that clusterf*ck of a replay folder I can't find which one it is. I think it was something like, 10 minute, which is like half of the match, trying to do damage to a HOOD in enemy team, he dodged so many of my slower-than-tectonic-movement torpedoes, AP bombs did minimal damage or bounced, and rockets melted before they even reached him...... I know about the nerfs, I know everything but is there a way to make it useful?(Of course in the actual game, pretending to have 1 mikasa strapped on each side of your ship doesn't count)

Naval Legends: U.S.S. Cod – Trailer
Filipin00 replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
Yea, I know about the maps. And while that won't be an easy task by any stretch of the imagination, they would still need to actually implement some real-life subs from history, armament, all the usual stats that ships have, make the hydroacoustic search the only way of spotting them while submerged(except for maybe dd's who would be exception...maybe?) and many many other things that I won't bother anymore to list. GZ would have to get its hydro back then rofl -

Exactly Also they've implemented sub mechanics in the past in the halloween event....I wasn't playing the game then, but I've seen videos of steampunk subs... They would "only" need to implement it and balance it with random battles if those sub mechanics are still in game... -

In the words of a great man.... I'm sorry, I had to rofl -
Why even get frustrated in the first place, so what, you did your best, you lost....let it go. Frustrating won't change anything, it will just make you feel like crap. It's just a GAME.

I like the GZ buffs, torpedoes now really feel punchier, and I'm getting more citadels with AP bombs. Not bad Also, as a CV player I won't complain about AA buff....I mean I've been losing planes with tier 8 CVs before, I'm losing them now, but the difference is, I can actually make some damage with surviving planes(still talking about GZ)
-
Today I was in the training room and got like 4 citadels, 2 x 2 in a row on Montana, it's not the issue. The issue is RNG and AA that cripples the planes because of long time spending in the AA while doing the attack. Here, take a look at this. Hope it helps somewhat.

So...did anyone figure out the best way to play GZ?

I can't thank you enough for all the useful info you've given me here. I wish more people were like you. Now I really get the full picture and how it works. -
So...did anyone figure out the best way to play GZ?
Filipin00 replied to Filipin00's topic in Aircraft Carriers
YES, that makes so much more sense, especially now I understand what the improved bomb normalization by 5 degrees buff in the upcoming update means. But then again, as I was just in the training room, how was I able to citadel yamato, like, 3 or 4 times with 2 approaches if the deck is thick enough for bomb to trigger fuse? Was it because of the angle+delay? I was also quite surprised by 4 citadels on montana, like 2 citadels twice in a row :O And one more question, maybe little unrelated, but still. What happens if you drop the bomb on the main turret of any bigger battleship, is there a chance to incapacitate or even completely destroy the module? I'm asking because in one approach the bomb hit yamato's front main gun turret and did the standard penetration damage of 2310(same amount for most regular penetrating hits). -
So...did anyone figure out the best way to play GZ?
Filipin00 replied to Filipin00's topic in Aircraft Carriers
OHHHHHH So, if it encounters a piece of armor not thick enough to trigger detonation, nothing will happen and it will continue until reaching either next layer of armor or citadel and repeat the process until it reaches thick enough armor to detonate(or overpen if it doesn't encounter any)? In which case the armor thickness of the previous layer of armor is disregarded in terms of minimal armor thickness required to detonate? Ok that makes so much more sense, I knew there had to be 3rd variable for calculation, because previously I thought when it comes in first contact with any armored surface not thick enough to trigger it that next layers of armor cumulate those 35mm fuse activation which would make the 300+ mm of pen useless.... thank for clarifying -

Ok, I believe I am now, indeed, thoroughly confused -

Filipin00 replied to Filipin00's topic in Aircraft Carriers
I guess this explains a lot..... How come I was never able to score citadel on an Izumo, I tried so many times in my GZ to citadel him and no matter the angle, no matter the speed, the height or anything.... I just couldn't citadel an Izumo with GZ AP bombs(in training room). -
CV, buff? You must be joking....right?
-
No, you're misinterpreting my words, nothing from wg until ing 2-3 days before the actual update goes live(as it's said that update is going live on 27th of june.......). And update 0.8.5 was in PTS for weeks and we only get official info on AA changes NOW??
-
I've only seen the official information about the AA changes in 0.8.5 like a day or so ago, on the web page, and not even on the video nor on the forums have they OFFICIALLY announced AA changes, only news about it I've heard from people who've played on PTS, but nothing from wg officially.
