[Poll] Why are you here? Why do you (still) play?

I have transcended the realms of this playerbase and reached levels of enlightenment you would not understand. -

Because they are Tiny Tims. T8 Saipan and Lexington have 32'400 damage potential per squad. T10 Midway has 48'600 damage potential per squad. T9 Halford is supposed to have 43'200 damage potential per squad. The numbers for Halford therefore somewhat make sense in terms of damage values, even though it attacks with all planes at once, so less time in AA is spent, yet if you compare this to similar systems already existing ingame, Halford single-use airstrikes mostly profit from secondary Tiny Tim attributes like pen and firechance. T8 Pobeda has 84'000 damage potential per squad Nakhimov has 129'600 damage potential per squad. I am not even going to explain how, why, under what circumstances and in which star constellation those rockets could even get close to their potential damage. But if you want to be upset, shake your fist angrily at Kearsarge with 81'000 potential per squad, she is the outlier here with exactly the same planes, same cooldown, yet nearly twice the damage potential and more plane HP than Halford. But yes, finnish man said "Halford planes bad", so we are all mad. Grrrrrr me angy -

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

I literally have no idea how to play surface ships, but a combination of clicking enemies and somewhat common sense usually works out pretty well. -
Which forum members have you seen in random battles?

Today, the harvest was plentiful. I met @Nibenay78 in a decent CV game and later @Aragathor in a BB game, yet we both died somewhat early. -
Are you trying to log in into non-eu region via Wargaming Center? Make sure you picked the right region where your account is located.

How to fix the biggest problem with the ranked queue
Nov_A replied to arttuperkunas's topic in General Discussion
I sense a small relation to 20mil tanking missions here. -
Since it already made it to the PST and by that out of supertesting, it is highly likely they will implement a form of this change. But again, they will also have to adress the hyperdimensional loop of worm cans they sealed with the CV rework and now try to open, without breaking ship/CV/mechanic balance even further.
-
You are mixing things up, the line: "They can, however, still see ships that are detected by allies." is in relation to the squadron being tagged by the ASW planes, not the ASW planes themselves, as said squadron loses to ability to directly spot for his allies. But again, this opens up more questions than it answers, as when the squadron cant spot anymore, an undetected ship directly underneath him would just disappear, so there is probably minimap spotting for your allies and/or 2-4km air detection for yourself, but despite losing the ability to spot, a CV squad tagged by ASW planes can still see ships spotted by allies. Like I previously mentioned, the text is written very, very unclear and does not adress many of the existing interactions between planes and surface ships, despite what the mouth-foamers in the forum might claim to be nonexistent. The main point of this one line is basically saying that if you strike the island camping Des Moines and get caught in his ASW AA planes, you will not passively spot the GK 12km far back anymore. But again, the entire article is like opening a can of worms, just to find out its filled with more cans of worms.

No. ASW planes will have an alternate mode to act as non-spotting pseudo fighters, which you can place manually and engage incoming CV squads. If tagged, they will deal small damage, increase the AA damage dealt to the squad and prevent it from spotting. While this sounds great because "CV bad", this will not affect all ships and all CVs equally, as not all ships have ASW planes and not all CVs are reliant on staying around a target, such as russian CVs, which also includes the other change in AA mechanics they mentioned, in which the AA damage is not dealt to the reserve group, but potentially (based on chance/RNG) the attacking one, making it theoretically possible to reduce or prevent a strike of non-russian CVs. One one hand, players should be more capable of defending themselves against CVs if they anticipate strikes, yet CVs can potentially drain ASW cooldowns and as a player attacked by a sub and a CV, you are only given the chance to defend against one. For russian CVs, little to nothing changes, while IJN and basically everyone else will be nerfed. This is also an indirect buff to submarines and makes DDs even more of a CV target, due to the lack of ASW planes. Overall, a questionable change with good intentions, but at the moment and from the article alone, there are too many unclear aspects, so the PTS will show what they cooked up this time.

Or to phrase it differently: "There is an 8% chance to pull the L 20 times in a row, lose out on Brisbane, the captain, spend all the resources and 1000 dubloons more than the most expensive CV is worth, yet you dont get a ship, enjoy your blue boosters!" I think the drop guarantee has a point.
-
They are okay, since you have a 12% chance of getting a premium CV, yet it is a gamble and locks you out of Brisbane or the pirate mommy milkers captain if you go all in. The problem with the crates is, that you get 14 for the price of Brisbane, 17 in total with all the resources and without spending dubs, but only a guaranteed drop at 20. Yes, you can buy more tokens for dubs but this is only cost effective or in this case "not a double gamble" when your first 1000 dubloon package is the 350 tokens, otherwise you keep gambling and hope for the 350 package or 1-3 (out of 5) consecutive 50 token packages to appear, cutting the possible savings into a minimum of only 2300 dubs. This allows you to ignore the event but get a guaranteed premium CV. All regular premium CVs are available for dubs and range from 6300 to 14'000 in price, so you are saving a minimum of 5300 dubs when you have the 350 token package as your first. I say "regular premium CV" because they dont drop Enterprise or Löwenhardt. If collecting is your main concern, get the captain with tokens, Brisbane later with resources and gamble all other tokens on the CVs, which you can just cash out anyways, as the captain has not been announced to return in later iterations, while Brisbane is destined to appear for coal later. How much later we dont know, still no Velos for coal either and they said the same about her. tl;dr: You are only "saving" dubloons if you get lucky. If you dont own Bearn and Ark Royal, dont do it, unless your first visible 1000 dub package is the 350 token drop. If you already own Bearn and Ark Royal but miss any T8 CV, dont do it, unless your first visible 1000 dub package is the 50 token drop or higher, you save a minimum of 300 dubs.

I was very inspired by your post so I made a haiku for you: Carriers, too strong Big ship, yet low concealment Cruiser Salem gone

I will play as much as I feel I want to, not planning on stressing myself for a pixel bote. Do all the missions in 1 week to use the coupon, since its only valid until the 17th. This reduces the price from 700 to 595 tokens. You get 550 tokens from all the missions so you only need to buy 2 extra 30 token packages for 12'000 coal and 10'000'000 credits. Free Brisbane, free virginity card.

Alright, I am going to play the WG shill here. WoWs on Steam is regularly holding cash or ingame reward events to attract players. The last one of this was in November to December 2022 and it only makes sense that after grabbing their 5 bux of Steam money most of the players left, since this is the reason why they signed up in the first place. Some were also bots but that was already discussed in another topic. In fact, you can see the playerbase rising right after the event was announced by approximately the amount that left in the 3 months after. Blaming this on subs or CVs seems more like feeding your own narrative of "asymetric class bad". Uncool.

Queen of the sea mission step 1 finished, can't start step 2 today?

No, you have to touch some grass. -
Mountbatton is basically the tarot card reader of WoWs, he usually lacks solid evidence or expertise, but always drops something with a grain of truth and general statement most people can identify with.
