Same applies for plane spotting btw. Very annoying when you try to engage a spotted target behind an island with attack planes or torpedo bombers, and right when you fly over the island the target gets unspotted again, yet your planes still need a small delay to re-spot it when they climbed over the island. This leads to either dropping too early and inaccurate or in most cases, overshooting the target because of spotting delay you missed those few seconds of target window. Rocket strike misses, torps dont arm and you are just sitting there getting counterplayed by fully functional game mechanics.

points gained from your first soviet containers

9 Containers, 80 Tokens Currently working on the Twitch mission for container number 10. My first random bundle is a 150 token stack. Maybe I spend the 500 dubloons to get Riga. -
How many credits did you get for your old prem consumables?

I have every non-DD T7 and will probably just use the ones I still need to grind.

It is the only value to measure non-static ingame elements, this makes WR actually the most important number in the game and thats why a lot of people care about it or take it rather serious. You have predefined static values like damage, spotting, etc. but everything else, especially on a dynamic, player interaction or general decision making level is defined by the winrate. Yes, you can influence it by playing in divisions (positive and negative) and yes, you can influence it by playing specific tiers or ships. Yet this influence does not change the fact of its importance and main part in the general statistic. Players with generally good values, have generally good overall winrates over a significant amount of battles. Same for the opposite, bad players often have bad winrates. This gets even pressed down more by the mathematical aspect of randomness, when you combine it with the random distribution of teams, because due to proven mathematical laws of normalisation, you will always be forced towards 50%, no matter what you do. Thats why even AFK bots have around 30% WR and not close to 0%, and thats why the best players only have 70% and not close to 100%. This whole glorious math-autismo gets even better, because it disables any kind of excuse from snowflakes in terms of lacking values, just by the way it is built. Nothing is wrong with just enjoying the game like you want to, but trying to reduce the significance of the WR as a statistically important value is just - yeah well, wrong. This often leads to conflict with people that either understand the mathematical importance of said value or have much different, more ambitious views on the game. In the end it is a personal choice, but please dont call it useless.

Because they are phast as phug? In addition, for most carriers they are expendable, or at least their loss does not hurt that much in terms of DPM. At the start of the game the enemy ships are crowded or the locations of AA-strong ships are unknown, attack planes give fast intel and have good abilities in harrassing DDs and denying early caps or setting an early fire on something bigger. Most people use DCP after the first strike because "just rockets lol", sometimes you get off a second one with another fire or just send torpedoes for some juicy flooding afterwards. Not only does this give personal damage, it gives information on locations and destinations, provides targets and delays enemies. Most CVs use attack planes first, because it makes the most sense. Personally I also start off mostly with attack planes, searching for DDs while providing early spots. If nothing of value can be found, I just yolo-drop the next best target. When a DD gets spotted it is obviously naughty touching time, until he is either dead, crippled for a long time or forced to abandon an active/useful position. It is easy damage, but not always good damage. What use is there in harrassing the enemy DD for 10 minutes while he already disengaged from any useful position, unable to spot or cap while you do his total HP in a single torpedo strike on something bigger, actually engaging in the game.

Detonations. What is the point? Why does this still exist in 2020?.
Nov_A replied to Riggerby's topic in General Discussion
Very fun mechanic when Implacable rocket strikes come in 2 waves per attack. Detonated an Öland this way a few days ago, it was the first enemy encounter in the whole game. Really makes you think. -

It has been a while since my last SC: -
Saipan and Graf Zeppelin. Might be because they are rather weak compared to other T8 CVs, might be because they are rather difficult to play compared to other T8 CVs. In any case, I perform bad in them and they also feel bad to play. Luckily I got the Saipan for free and the gameplay of GZ in the T8 1v1 ranked sprint made the regrets a little bit less.

Raptor Op bugged - sabotaged on purpose ?
Nov_A replied to SEN_SEN_Channel_Portugue's topic in General Discussion
Same for Narai. The pathfinding is still horrible as soon something blocks the original course of allied or enemy bots. Missouri beaches sometimes, landing ships do their best to seperate, dodging torpedoes has more priority than in random battles and bots really, really hate cruisers. WG did nothing - absolutely nothing to improve Narai on a technical level. All they did was to nerf the income of credits and XP. -
[Low Effort] Can you spot the start of the weekend?
Nov_A replied to ThePurpleSmurf's topic in General Discussion
Doing pretty well here, be it solo or in division. The obvious one-sided or unwinnable games happen, but overall I am doing more than fine. Thought it would be because of superior balans class but BBs also work fine. If you want, we can play some T6 or T8 and share the magic, as long you dont mind CVs. -
Why is it even possible to assign a captain to a prem ship? how stupid is that?
Nov_A replied to Cpt_RakkR's topic in General Discussion
I have specialized captains on multiple premium ships. GZ has no other comparable ship yet Massa for secondary build, other USN BB captain is built for survivability Atago with non-IFHE build, only compatible with Zao that I dont have yet and Myoko that I dont play -
Not really interested in camos for real money. In addition, I am only interested in a few ones, those should be grindable.

Out of personal interest, how do you manage to play with 175k credits left over?

Why are WG games more frustrating than other games?
Nov_A replied to Psychatogg's topic in General Discussion
Because of the high numbers of random people involved. The game itself has some frustrating parts, but for me personally, the playerbase is the most frustrating one. Just take a look at other big titles like LoL, DotA2, R6, CS:GO, Overwatch, even AoE2 - the main modes of these games are built around 4v4, 5v5, etc. while WoWs's or WoT's most popular mode is build around 12v12 and 15v15. The sheer amount of random influence you have with this amount of people is a guarantee to get frustrated. Also, WoWs and WoT are grinder games. All the other games have experience, skill improvement and only a little part of unlocking content as their progress. In WoT it is one of the biggest parts. -
54% WR after 41 games. I started constantly losing and winning games on Rank 3, all I needed was 5 victories in a row. Played mostly Haku but with her I got this constant win/lose, tried some Smolensk and Thunderer but finally managed the 5 victories in Jean Bart. You could basically feel how many players died their way up and were now stuck on Rank 3 as well. It was very unpleasant to play, even with division friendos.

Thats the "joke", he gives wrong callouts. At least his voice lines are complete, yet I have not tested it out for CVs so far. As an example, Com Richard (RU) is missing multiple lines (spotter plane up, smoke screen set, etc.). Even the weeb commanders have a (nearly) full set of lines, or maybe I just dont understand the 12yo yelling in japanese.

Ark Royal works fine in randoms but the fun is limited. You spend a lot of time pressing "W" and watching your planes cruise around. They are also very sluggish in turning, so you just sit there and watch them lean sideways. If you are a patient man and dont have the furios urge to help the multiple dumpster fires across the minimap before they even get worse, there surely is a lot of fun to have. She does fine with strong strikes, literally shotgunning DDs and keeping up meaty squads, but most of the time the feeling is more like "meh" or "wish I was playing Ryujo".
-
I have the Ark Royal and the Furios nearly grinded out in operations, played one Hermes game in randoms and lost interest. The whole line seems a bit underwhelming, especially in comparison to the other ones. The biggest problem for me personally is, that you are very dependent on game mechanics that can be countered or influenced. Causing fires is RNG based, limited by fire prevention and flags, caused damage can be completly restored or even completly prevented by using DCP. In addition, the alpha strike and/or penetration on RN CV's bombs and rockets is nothing outstanding. The IJN torps and AP-bombs hit harder and faster, the USN HE hits also harder and causes more reliable damage, resulting in less potential damage to restore, more damage caused and more influence on the game. The Ark Royal is quite enjoyable tho, but on paper the whole RN CV concept seems a bit odd to me.

Let's talk about Operations... and WeeGee's proverbial dishonesty
Nov_A replied to Andrewbassg's topic in General Discussion
>WG claims removing Narai is to fix technical problems >actually only fix a few of the technical problems and just nerf XP income >tHeY diD nOT liE!!! This is the official statement in the 0.9.1 patchnotes: " Operation Narai has been removed from rotation due to technical issues." This is the official statement from MrConway adressing the Narai removal. "There are definitely things to improve with the current scenario system" Here is only a small portion of problems that occured in Narai: https://forum.worldofwarships.eu/topic/129168-narai-op-come-in-2020-bugged/ https://forum.worldofwarships.eu/topic/130770-npc-ships-sailing-reverse-in-narai/ Pathfinding issues still occure and the CV still has no active planes, besides the automatic defensive fighters. The other OPs are also troubled but at least an average TP run in Narai now only gives 1500XP, not 2000XP, just as clearly mentioned in the patchnotes or statements and not hidden behind 7 layers of personal interpretation of human moral concepts, such as "lies".- 71 replies

After progressing in the personal campaigns I got multiple SCs as reward, but nothing worth a screenshot. One was 1500 Steel, another one 100 Detonation Flags. "meh" -
I dont want to complain because in terms of WR it is actually going pretty well, especially as a newer player that just started to take out surface ships instead of CVs. But I probably had my most frustrating session so far this weekend and can absolutely understand anyone that is upset. Top examples I had was 4 ships down after two minutes, only one of them got dev striked. My Bayard dropped to 35% WR for the first 30 games during a single night, took me an angry portion of sleep to calm down from this MM madness. In addition, even outside of a CV - literally unable to cap, DDs of both team are still the biggest problem for me in a cruiser. I can realiably calculate on my DDs losing their first (and only) engagement, while the enemy ones come out on top. So many games were lost because the enemy had 3/4 DDs alive midgame, while mine were all dead at that point, it was just ridicoulus. It also had some positive aspects, depending how you look at it, I met a guy with 50 games and clearly a new player in his rental Missouri. Easy torps, but clearly showing that something is going wrong.
