How do you gauge the strength of a class? Because if it's according to its ability to influence (ie. win) battles, then CVs are by far the strongest.

I suppose that's dependant on how good you are at the game (though I suppose it is true for most). I very often use the fact that the ship is weak survivability wise (but very manouverable) to essentially play the role of bait. While the enemy is wasting their time trying and failing to hit me, they aren't wiping my team and instead get set on fire by me. But then again, this is basically me exploiting a weakness in the ship, which isn't really how it's supposed to be. Now, I do love this ship. It's one of my favorite cruisers. But that's only because it's stealthy, relatively small and most importantly, has some of the most consistent guns of any ship in the game. Unfortunately its weaknesses (namely its survivability (horrible armor, no HP and a bad heal)) often don't make up for her strenghts and make her a very difficult ship to play. Where other ships survive through shear resilience or gimmicks, zao doesn't. The tiniest mistake is fatal. And while I do love that it has a fairly high skill floor, there are limits to how far it should be pushed.
