Getting an SSD would help the most

Well I had no idea what the heck you even wrote, that's why I posted it. -Decent AP, very good HE, good turrets and def AA for scatering bombs and torps -
How many times is this going to be reposted?

I like it...it feels like it's everything new orleans was supposed to be but failed -
Well of course we have another noob here who thinks he's above it all...see what I did there? You sure have started your forum career as bad as you possibly can.....keep going and you'll be roasted on every ocasion forumers can get.
-
Yes, but it's also a huge disadvantage when every single HE shell without exception does damage to you
-
In this case, it is the ship and not you
-
Or soviet....originally that was meant for turret placement....just too lazy to fix it

1. Well since IJN cruisers are my favorite CA/CL class, the only thing I can do is recomend them. Good guns, good armor, torpedoes and stealth, which make it all worth it. 2. French cruisers actually aren't that bad. I have the charles martel and it's pretty good. They do get citadeled relatively easy but they can still do a lot of damage with their long range guns and speed and their turrets turn very fast. I think they can even outmatch US turrets but I'm not sure. Plus their torpedoes are almost comparable to the japanese. 3. Can't say anything about those because I hate them. I just can't do good in them. 4. Pretty much what you've said. Cruisers IJN cruisers: +Slightly faster +Good AP shells and high caliber guns +Very good HE shells +Long range torpedoes +Decent shell velocity +Good concealment -Poor torpedo arcs (can only fire them backwards) -Poor AA -Slow turret rotation speed Russian cruisers: +Similar to US cruisers but with short range torpedoes +Big range +Very good shell velocity +Low shell arcs +Good for starting fires -Poor AA -Slow rudder shift -Poor concealment British light cruisers: +Premiums have HE shells +Good rate of fire +Excellent AP shells +Single fire torpedoes +High tiers have smoke +Extremely fast heal +Very good acceleration -Very poor deceleration -No defensive AA -Very thin armor (can get citadeled by IJN DD HE at low tiers) -No HE shells French cruisers: +Decent speed +Speed boost +Fast rotating turrets +Very good artilery range +Long range torpedoes -Mediocre armor (nonexistent at tier 5) -Relatively poor concealment -Low ammount of torpedoes -Somewhat easy to citadel

If you want to make a firework show with your secondaries get a bismarck. It's the only tier 8 ship that has secondaries comparable to IJN tier 9 and 10

Considering UK doesn't have any CAs I somehow doubt that. All in all I think this is a good change. If a BB is too incompetent to hide "behind" the smoke instead of in it that's their problem. But like someone already mentioned it will cause a serious problem of "infinite radar", since you can't spot ships outside smoke. Perhaps cruisers should get the same detectability range inside smoke as destroyers?
-
Well for me the US are terrible. I could never make them work no matter how much I tried. So I'll keep it at "mediocre". I did add that they can be trollish though, so interpret that however you'd like.
-
The reloads between US and IJN DDs aren't that much different, but since IJN are meant to be torpedoboats their torpedoes to deal slightly more damage, have slightly bigger range and are generally faster. For unlocking new lines I recomend you get through the "credit bottleneck" at tier 6-7 first. At least that's how it was for me and my friends, it's when you get to a point where you research ships faster than you can afford to buy them. Get to about tier 7 and then maybe switch up the lines a bit. As for germans, I've never really played their destroyers so I can't say much; they seem to have similar torpedoes to the US, but I can't speak from experience. Soviet dds are very good gunboats but they have terrible torpedoes at low/medium tiers because they only have 4-5 km torps. They have excellent guns but have bad concealment so don't expect to outspot enemy destroyers. You might try their cruisers yes, although they have bad concealment they have very fast shells which enable you to hit targets at long range.

Japs are pretty good but yes, you should try other lines aswell when you have the time. At least one of each class, otherwise you might make the mistake that happens very often where people complain about how OP a certain class is without actually knowing anything about it. My personal favorites are: CL/CA: Japanese BB: US/German DD: US CV: Japanese Cruisers US cruisers: +Very good AA +Decent HE shells -Mediocre AP shells (although can be trollish in the right hands) -Annoying to play at tiers 7 and 8 (usually most played tiers) because of their lack of armor and concealment at that tier -No torpedoes (with the exception of tiers 4 and 5) -High shell arcs IJN cruisers: +Slightly faster +Good AP shells and high caliber guns +Very good HE shells +Long range torpedoes +Decent shell velocity +Good concealment -Poor torpedo arcs (can only fire them backwards) -Poor AA -Slow turret rotation speed German cruisers: +Good range +Decent AA +Very good AP shells -Mediocre HE shells -Relatively low armor Russian cruisers: +Similar to US cruisers but with short range torpedoes +Big range +Very good shell velocity +Low shell arcs +Good for starting fires -Poor AA -Slow rudder shift -Poor concealment British light cruisers: +Premiums have HE shells +Good rate of fire +Excellent AP shells +Single fire torpedoes +High tiers have smoke +Extremely fast heal +Very good acceleration -Very poor deceleration -No defensive AA -Very thin armor (can get citadeled by IJN DD HE at low tiers) -No HE shells French cruisers: +Decent speed +Speed boost +Fast rotating turrets +Very good artilery range +Long range torpedoes -Mediocre armor (nonexistent at tier 5) -Relatively poor concealment -Low ammount of torpedoes -Somewhat easy to citadel Battleships US Battleships: +Excellent AA at high tiers +Good armor +Decent high tier dispersion -Subpar secondaries -Slow at low tiers -Shorter range -Slightly bigger dispersion at lower tiers IJN Battleships: +Fast +Decent accuracy +Longer range -Somewhat lacking AA -Slightly less armor German Battleships: +Fast turret rotation speed +Difficult to citadel +Good reload speed +Excellent secondaries at higher tiers -Short range AA -Relatively small caliber guns -High dispersion UK Battleships: +Difficult to citadel at lower tiers +Extremely strong HE +Very good concealment at higher tiers -Slow turret traverse -Mediocre AP at lower tiers -Low caliber guns at certain tiers -Very poor deceleration Destroyers US destroyers: +Very good turrets (fast reload, rotation speed) +Best for hunting other destroyers at close range -Medium/short range torpedoes at low tiers -Slow shell velocity -Rainbow arcs IJN destroyers: +High shell velocity +Good damage per shell +Long range torpedoes +Good concealment +Best for stealth torpedoing enemy ships -Slow turret reload -Slow turret rotation Russian destroyers: +Relatively large caliber turrets which allows them to citadel ships easier +Very fast +Good gun range +Good shell velocity +Best for long range engagements -Very short range torpedoes until high tiers -Slightly slower rudder shift -Poor concealment German destroyers: +Forward firing torpedoes at low tiers +Decent turret traverse +Fast reload speed -Slightly shorter gun range -Medium range torpedoes Carriers US carriers: +Larger squadrons +Very good for specialized air superiority +Good at specialized bombing -Less squadrons -Slow at low tiers IJN carriers: +More squadrons +Very versatile +Fast at low tiers -Smaller squadrons

Was about to say exactly this
