With the French battleships it is pretty important to know bow armours, because you can't lol pen any cruiser. You can't overmatch the bow armours of US CA and German cruisers, the others you can just shoot through the bow. Also with your 32mm armour layout the last thing you want to do is bowtank. Use your speed to get into good positions to support your team. Perhaps you need to switch more often to HE than in other battleships, but I use plenty of HE shells in my Montana as well. AP being the only ammo choice for a BB is a hoax... She isn't a bad ship at all, in the contrary she is even fun when played right.

I do kinda understand your frustration and I'd suggest you to join a clan. It is the easiest way to form a 3 man division with which you should be able to win most battles. Besides Clan Battles there are some additional tournaments you can participate in as well. The most famous ones are King of the Seas and RQL ShipStorm Tournament. Ranked Battles in WoWS is not comparable with Ranked in other games. In WoWS it is just a grind fest / sanity test.- 9 replies

How can we add more interaction to: Airplanes versus surface ships?

I think most of us agree that there is very little interaction between airplanes and surface ships at this moment. With the RTS carriers we had the option to use DFAA which caused a panic effect and we had the option to focus on specific squadrons, both of which were taken away. Hence this topic, can we come up with some ideas to add some interaction again, e.g.: Bring back the panic effect of DFAA, manual control of AA guns and etcetera. Depending on how serious the reactions are I will do my best to add the best ideas (most thumbs up) in this first post. Greetz Lemon Suggestions Fix AFT. I don't know, but you can make a similar case for Concealment Expert. It is just how the game is.

The easiest way to deal with this is to use RPF on your destroyers, together with CE. That way you know what to expect and makes you able to act accordingly. I am not saying it is easy, but it is a useful skill to learn. Are you using: Last Known Ship Position and Ship Names on your mini map as well? My opinion about the current captain skills / upgrades is that they need a rework anyway, not just to bridge the gap between T7 and T8. The majority of the player base is using pretty much the same skills / upgrades, where imo it should offer more variety in gameplay for your ships while still being useful.

I doubt the game needs both, but it would be nice to have a counter to save a ship from its death, even if it is by the use of a consumable. See reply to Panocek below. Both Gulv and Pano, I think the lock on isn't really beneficial anymore. It is weird that we are still waiting for WarGaming to introduce some darn buttons to let us switch sectors. Since carriers are becoming more main stream it would also be nice to introduce some less expensive AA skills. That would be interesting and it also sounds like they can easily test it. Eventually they should be able to increase the damage output of bombs, so that non AA builds get struck harder, but it makes sense. Not necessarily complicated, but I want to have some sort of feeling I can do something about those planes coming in. Introducing the panic effect back of DFAA sounds pretty reasonable and easy to do. IMO the entire fighter mechanic needs to be reworked. I am thinking similar to you, fighter needs to shoot down a couple of planes, cause a panic effect and perhaps increase the retreating time of the squadron it is attacking. Also CV wise, why can the enemy carrier see where I popped my consumable? It would be more fun if you can click on your friendly, so that the fighters will fly around him for a minute to prevent passive gameplay.- 75 replies

@GulvkluderGuld @thiextar @El2aZeR I do agree as well that the cost of AFT doesn't meet the benefits. I'll add to the main post that it needs a fix, but I'll the kind of fix open for discussion. What do you guys think about the Manual Fire Control for AA Armament? Is it worth the points? @Allied_Winter With the RTS carriers I had the feeling I could so something about planes by clicking on the squadron I wanted to kill first and by using DFAA. It made me able to make a tactical decision. Using DFAA mostly meant that I'd be safe that drop, where when I use it now it doesn't mean anything. That is how it feels though. So what about bringing back the panic effect of DFAA? Or what about removing the enemy fighter circles of the minimap? Does the fighter system need a rework?- 75 replies

Have you got any idea how annoying it is to get bombed while trusting on RNG? It isn't a waste of time, because now I am just watching my ship getting bombarded. TBH I think I can do a better job than WG's automatic AA, and if WG is ever willing to test this feature than sign me up.

So when I am dodging BB shells, torpedoes, while radaring that DD in the cap and shooting at that DD I will keep my AA guns on automatic, but as soon as the job is done against the destroyer I will switch back to manual AA to defend myself against those planes with my own skills.

Des Moines is none the less a really good ship and lots of fun when you get that Unique Module on it.

I do agree the damage output for carriers is extremely disappointing, but don't forget that the surface ships you are attacking rely on pure RNG and some butt wiggling. If WG figures out a mechanic that surface ships can interact with the actual squadrons attacking them than the damage output can also be increased. I don't mind getting my butt kicked by a better player than me, but than it will be me who is controlling those AA guns. Look I am not asking for a replacement of the automatic AA by manual AA, but to give us the option to control our own AA guns when we want to.

You are running a static team though, where the enemy is running the complete opposit of it. Have you thought about that? Be a bit more creative... When I look at your team setup I see a lot of HP and low RoF. You pretty much go for the objectives you decide for at the start and repositioning isn't going to be likely. I doubt you guys win any game where you have lost a flank. What is your reason for bringing 2 Stalingrads and one Moskva? -
I'd recommend the USN CL line, since it is more forgiving than the British line. You could grind both of them to a T6 though, from there on forward they don't really differ that much compared to their tier 10s imo. At tier 8 USN gets an additional consumable, 9km radar, where the British can swap out their smoke generator for a 10km radar at tier 8.

Honestly WG, it looks amazing, but I guess you guys figured out as well that the rework is missing interaction. Imo stop balancing the carriers, cancel premium CV sales and figure out a way to add some interaction to this rework mess. Go back to the drawing board... -
