    I'm done with WarGamming

Everyone wants to play for free but when they see other players doing the same they're all: "OMG noobz!" I'm not going to comment on OP's stats since none of us yet have a credible statistical sample but I will comment on the fact that after 74 battles no one should be expecting to win regularly, especially not in a brand new, just released, and still technically in Beta kind of a game. Read my lips: PEOPLE ARE STILL LEARNING TO PLAY! OP should understand that since he is one of those people. Give it time and you will start to see a bit more teamwork and strategy as people get grips with the game. There will always be bad players though. They are called seven-year-olds, and yelling at them will achieve nothing but give the poor kids nightmares.
  2. I don't play War Thunder. It is a mediocre flight game with little to no lasting appeal. WoWP was much better than WT in CBT, but now it's a game worthy of Nintendo Wii. Cruisers are more fun for you because they are easier to play. Here's my opinion on the current classes: Cruisers - easy to play, hard to master Battleships - hard to play, very hard to master Carriers - easy to play, medium to master Destroyers - easy to play, medium to master Basically, in the current meta, BBs are the hardest class to play properly and yet this is the class that most new players go for. That doesn't bode well for WG and I'm afraid we might see some drastic changes in the future.
  3. When talking to kids one must use the language that they understand. The problem is that "valid criticism" is getting drowned out by all the whiny and unreasonable individuals who seem to only frequent this Forum in order to spew out one liners like "buff BB" and "nerf torps pls" with no clear understanding of how the in-game balance works. As a Beta tester from WoWP I can tell you that this can sometimes have disastrous consequences. And that's the only reason why I used such harsh language, because I have no intention of watching another decent game go down the drain because of people who instead of trying to evolve as players keep searching for that magical "I WIN" button at the expense of everyone's enjoyment. Like many people here, I'm just a working stiff who plays PC games as an entertaining distraction in between my other hobbies and interests, so I don't really take myself that seriously. I do understand that some of those uncoordinated and silly BB captains are actually ten-year-olds in RL (although I try not to think about too much. There something inherently sad about a thirty-year-old man playing video games versus little kids. LOL) But I do greatly dislike whiners, in games and in general, and if that makes me an "annoying whiteknight" then so be it.
  4. So a guy with 60% WR mostly in Battleships with one hell of an efficiency as well claims that Battleships are underpowered and incapable of dodging torps? Okay, so maybe 300 battles isn't really a relevant statistical sample, but please do tell me how many times have you as a good BB player been torped by a DD? It is not my opinion but an undeniable fact that torpedoes are an AREA OF EFFECT weapon, meaning they target a really narrow stretch of sea at a very specific time interval. So any miniscule alteration of speed or course results in an absolute miss which is why DD torps only work on bad players or players who failed to pay any attention to what the fu*k they were doing. Yesterday I torped and killed a straight sailing Kongo and a Wyoming in a vast and open stretch of ocean. I was in a Mutsuki which has some slow a*s 58 knot torps which when fired from around 9 km take around 15-20 seconds to reach their target depending on the angle, during which time even the slowest battleship could easily evade getting torped by employing even the most minscule of maneuvers. Furthermore, my torps get detected at well over 2 km or even more if one has the torp aquisition skill active, giving the aforementioned BB captains sufficent time to take evasive maneuvers and either avoid or at least minimize the damage. But that's not what happened. Instead, the Wyoming kept moving in straight line, and even once he spotted my slow torps he made ABSOLUTELY no attempt to evade them whatsoever. He died and I could practically hear the sound of another "Torps are OP!" thread being opened. Meanwhile, the enemy Kongo having witnessed the battleship ahead of him get torn apart by torps thought to himself:"Eh, fu*k it. I'll just keep this same course till kingdom come..." So I launched torps at him. He kept going straight. And even after he spotted my torps, there was still no bloody reaction. So like I said, torps only kill idiots. I have evaded hundreds upon hundreds of torps in CBT and Alpha, and I have noticed no drastic change in BB behavior since then. If anything, the BBs are better now then they ever were. The problem of the battleships is that they perhaps have the highest skill curve in the game. They're big, slow, constantly spotted and therefore constantly targeted by everyone, and that demands no small amount situational awareness and tactical forethought. They also demand a decent knowledge of how the ships in WoWS are structured in order to know where to aim and which shells should be used on what. They also have the highest amount of RNG which means that one's aim has to be spot on, otherwise all of the shells miss, not by meters but by miles. New players don't get that and they just expect their battleship to be some untouchable citadel of total devastation. They don't think, they don't mind their surroundings, they shoot whichever ammo tickles their fancy at the time, they don't aim, they ignore incoming torpedoes and aircraft, and ultimately they blame it all on the game and open annoying 'BBs are underpowered' threads. Now, I might not have some staggering amount of battles in BBs in OBT, but I do regulary division with friends that do, and the only thing they complain about is HE fires, which is something that will undoubtebly be fixed with the upcoming patches. In those rare occasions that they do get torped (mostly by aircraft, practically never by DDs), they actually blame themselves for not paying attention. How about them apples? But that's the old "you have to be good at someting in order to know when you're doing it badly" catch. I'm sorry if I come of as arrogant, my intent has never been to present myself as some kind of an all knowing entity. I understand all of this is merely my own limited perspective of the situation, but I just wanted to make my opinions known. FYI, I'm a freaking Alpha tester, which means that I have dedicated enough time to this game to earn the right to make "giant sweeping conclusions" and judging by my opening post, some 55 people wholeheartedly agree with those conclusions. Gracias.
  5. Unbelievable. There are now threads in which CV players are whining against AA in the higher tiers, and those same higher tiers are, of course, complaining about CVs. There is a thread in which IJN DD players are saying that the higher tiers suck compared to the OP Minekaze, while simultaneously everyone and his grandson are whining about torpedoes and HE shells. Although battleship players are by far the most proficient whiners who basically want their BBs to be one man pwning machines of death. You know, like they totally were in real life...
  6. This is called fictional history people... Here's a bunch of DDs defeating Battleships: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_off_Samar Here's three cruisers defeating a pocket battleship: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/German_cruiser_Admiral_Graf_Spee Yamashiro and Fuso were also sunk by US DDs during the Battle at the Surigao Strait etc... I could basically go on forever. Despite what you may think, in reality battleships did very little in WW2 because they were practically made useless by carriers. And smaller more nimble ships such as cruisers and destroyers have also proven themselves more useful and also more than capable of sinking a battleship. In fact, if you take time to asses things you will realize that battleships were actually the most useless naval class during WW2. They did things in WWI, but during WW2 they were useless and did practically nothing.
  7. First of all, me saying that Carriers are OP is sarcasm. As for AP ammo, they are called citadel hits. Learn to aim maybe? On a BB you use AP for everything besides DDs. I believe that is the consensus. I have no idea how you do '1000 damage' but I do 2-3k damage when I miss the citadel. And that's with a tier 4 Arkansas.
  8. Wow, even CV players are like "makes my CV better WG so that I can just blind rush peeps!"... If anything they should increase AA on the lower tiers so that we may finally distinguish the bad CV players from the good ones.

    Abusers out of control

Honestly, I think you're blowing a tiny exploit way out of proportion. Also, I can easily torpedo such abusers. Wide spread + guesstimate trajectory = dead border hugger.

    IJN DD line change suggestion

Please understand that the 533mm Type 92 torps are freaking overpowered. Yeah, it feels great to be able to sink something just because you have torps that go almost 70 knots, but it's a bit too easy as well. The torps on the Mutsuki are slower than the overpowered ones, yes, but that doesn't mean that they are slow altogether. You can easily score hits, which I do, and do whopping amounts of damage (just did 17k with one hit) and you can even sink higher tier stuff (sunk an Iowa with the Mutsuki's torps just two days ago). FYI; that table of torp detection ranges that you guys flaunt around is total BS, I have tested that in game.
  11. I don't know what to tell you other than that you are wrong. Firstly, DDs never control the engagements. They are too fragile to expose themselves so in order to kill their targets they have to remain unseen and they must always position themselves according to the trajectory of their intended targets. A BB doesn't have to run from a DD, it can go towards it and then double back once the DD is spotted. A ship moving toward you is hard enough to torp, and a ship that is heading toward you in a soft zig zag pattern is almost impossible to torp. Also, you speak of 1 on 1 BB vs. DD duels which are in my experience very rare. Even the newer and dumber players that are playing now mostly like to huddle up with cruisers or other battleships for safety. Also, you talk about stuff like torpedo spam but honestly I would like to see pics of you spamming torps at maneuvering BBs and scoring hits based on your guesstimates alone. I assume such screenies don't exist. Sure you can score a lucky hit when spamming here and there, but it's not damage you can rely on. I think your opinions are clouded by the fact that you haven't reached the higher tiers yet nor encountered better BB players. Isokaze has the same uber fast and powerful 68 knot torps as the Mini and those torps are lethal on that tier because most of the players you encounter are new and have no clue about torp evasion. Those torps will be balanced pretty soon, or you will just move on to higher tiers where the torps are slower (58-63 knots), where the torp detection distances are higher (giving players more time to react), where the BBs are faster and more powerful, where players don't steer in a straight line, and where you get spotted at 7+ kilometers instead of 6. When that happens I think your opinions will change.
  12. About half of my battles were played solo, the rest was in division with jeff and Gruber. My stats are useless as test data because of a little thing called a relevant statistical sample. 300 battles is just to low of a number to draw any conclusions. Also the majority of my battles was conducted in a DD called Minekaze which is significantly overpowered at tier 5. I have played a crapload of BB battles in Alpha and CBT, mostly alone. And I have played the Arkansas enough times to know that nothing important has changed. I have eaten only two torps in 14 battles and both of those were plane launched. You only get torped by a DD in a BB if you're a tool. As for the HE caused fires, a lot of players are rightfully complaining about that, but it's certainly not an exclusively BB related issue. My DDs have burnt to death quite a few times as well.

Recon planes of Battleships are really chicken ribs

I'm a bit peckish, stuck at work and anticipating lunch. So when I saw the title I was all like "OMG! Planes that deliver chicken ribs?!" Instead I walk into another "pls WG make my BB better thread..." How disappointing. All kidding aside, 6 mins to reload a plane that merely increases your firing range is a bit much. It should be 3-4 mins.

    IJN DD line change suggestion

I am not aware of any problems with the Mutsuki. Seems like a decent DD to me. Just got her fully upgraded. It's got decent torps and decent AA. You only have two guns but they're fairly accurate. I think you guys are just suffering from Mini syndrome, namely the fact that after playing the OP tier 5 everything seems grey. Also, those reaction times for torps that you guys keep advertising are incorrect.
  15. Yeah, that's why I wrote the whole thing with a [edited]-ish overtone. I honestly think that we need to be brutally clear with these inept individuals in seek of an instant gratification button. I've seen quite a lot of posts in the "OMG!11 My friends and I don't play this game anymore because BB die too fast!!" and things of that sort, and here we're talking about people with hundreds of battles or less, all of which they've played in BBs. And these players who are inexperienced in terms of BB battles alone actually dare to whine about other classes which they haven't even played yet?! When you take into consideration that it takes between 3000-5000 battles in WoT for the average person to get the hang of the game, I don't how these dweebs fell comfortable commenting on game mechanics that they don't yet understand. There's a lot of gripe on the Forums about CVs at the moment, and even though there are a few minor imbalances with that class, like the face that we need a longer activation delay for torps dropped from planes because some CVs can now practically drop torps on your deck instead of in the water, there's something else that needs to be said. And that's the fact that during those periods in the Alpha testing stage when there were no carriers present in the game, we had one staggering amount of draws. Some of us had draws in the 15% range which was utterly obscene. You would get these tedious fu*king battles with rogue battleships roaming the far edges of the map without a care in the world, and it was hard to find, never mind kill these dumb SOBs without plane squadrons in the air. So carriers, just like any other class, fulfill an important role by dishing out damage and spotting the map. By forcing people to think about things like air cover and making BBs stay in a closer formation, they make game play more dynamic, quicker and more definitive in terms of who wins and who loses. Without carriers or, worse yet, with carriers that had been nerfed into the ground, the battles would run much slower and with ships scattered irregularly all over the map the battles would end mostly in draws. And the game would be boring as fu*k. But how do you explain this fact to some freaking numbskull who thinks battleships = auto win?! And how do you explain to these people that torpedoes fired from DDs are a weapon that's only effective against bad players, or average players that weren't paying attention. Good players in BBs laugh at DDs as our torps slide harmlessly beside them. I know this because I regularly laugh at DDs when I'm in my Arkansas. Just yesterday a guy in the Isokaze, after missing three torp volleys, got pis*ed off and decided to just blind rush me. He got HE-d to death without landing a single torp hit on me even though he had fired at least twenty-something torps in total. But according to most people on this forum BBs just suck and were generally much better in real life. No, they weren't. In real life BBs had an even worse accuracy than they have in game, and even when they got into situations where they could use their big guns they got outmaneuvered by cruisers and destroyers like in the Battle off Samar for example. So if we were to make the game just like "real life" (and we really won't) the BBs wouldn't be as good as they are now. And they are good now. If you say they aren't, then like I said, your BB game is weak, and you should probably start looking into other games instead of trying to ruin this one. I hear that Barbie Funland game for the iPad is really nice.

Wargaming.net, Unified slots and slot changes

I think you answered your own question there.
  17. You do realize that I'm not the fu*king developer, right?
  18. What happened in WoWP is that a certain group of people, let's call them the motor-skill-impaired alliance of EU, started whining about all the good aspects of the game like the fact that it was dynamic, fast-paced and that it sported one very luxurious skill curve. So then WG removed all the good parts of that game and what was left you can still play today by joining that swelling playerbase of less than a thousand people.
  19. My thread was a bit [edited]-ish yes, but constructively so. What's your excuse for coming into an alleged whinethread about whinethreads and using such strong logic as "if you punch a bully in the face, then congrats, you're now a bully too..." Like I said, your lopsided logic is not logic, and even if it was then it would just mean that you had just shot yourself in the foot. You just rolled into this thread to take the moral high ground with a simple: "I don't whine against whine threads, because they amuse me..." sort of a cool stride and when I called you out for all the BS you got defensive pretty fu*king fast. So don't flame me just because my constructive criticism falls on thine dumb ears.
  20. No. You just posted a quick complaint in my very own thread. I guess if you had opened a thread to complain about my complaints about them constant complainers, THEN you would have been a whiner. But since you didn't, you totally aren't. Yeah, I totally see the logic in that. TOTALLY. Seriously dude, your attempts at sounding intelligent have failed. I think you should just stop with the whining and leave.
  21. Yeah, okay Mr. Angry Squirrel. I apologize for attacking your English grammar. Just make sure to at least try and get your point across next time, mkay?
  22. If you can read and fully understand the point of this post then you should get a job as a dog whisperer too. Also by using your silly logic I can say that your post is a whine directed at people who whine against whiners. By your logic everyone in the world is a whiner. And that's because your logic is not logic at all. Basically, whining is defined as a protest conducted in a childish or annoying fashion. So something in the lines of "My BB always dies so fast! OMG! I uninstall this game now." would be a whine. And just because I point out the whine and speak out against it, that doesn't give you the right to throw me in that same bin using flawed arguments. If people found my post annoying or childish, they wouldn't have pos repped it 19 times. P.S. I threw in that BB repair thing as a joke. It's something my friends tease me about.
  23. I don't expect people to write perfectly and without a few typos here and there, but there is also a line at which someone's point may become intelligible. For example, I'm not going to flame you for your minor mistakes in that post because everything is still quite readable. And my thread is about explaining where all the whines are coming from, namely from that special spot between the chair and the keyboard.
  24. Then why don't you just post with your main account so that we can check your stats and see how you "mainly play DD and wreck everything with no risk..." Torps is an area of effect weapon that targets a really small area. You adjust your course slightly and you don't get torped. Easy enough?
  25. Judging by your previous posts and in game stats, I don't think you will ever need any help to look or sound as retarded as humanly possible anywhere.
