Don`t worry. You won`t be playing your carriers much. At tier 8 you`ll stop anyway because AA gets buffed even more and your carriers will be good only for spotting.

Happend once to me. We were playing 3xDD division (2x Błyskawica and freedom DD) and we sailed together to one cap where we encountered 2 IJN DDs from close range. They died so rapidly that game gave us two first blood awards.
