And yet it performs very well compared to all other cruisers, with perhaps Perth being the top performer, with the next 4 difficult to judge.

So he could make his own smoke cover of course - very considerate of you :)
-
Bumped into you in ranked a couple of times - both times in your Arizona (Red and Blue team), you won both :)

Wow.. I am 53rd on the leader board for the Leander, 16th for the Anshan... but I won't mention the other ships I tried.... although those 2 ended up as my main ships, 43 out of 108. Edit - the Mutsu and the Gnevy are bottom performers at this stage, Gnevy, not surprised, but thought that Mutsu was quite a respected ship.
-
Totally sympathise with you over the mechanic.

I can't get mine to work (Scharnhorst) yet - need to put some time and attention into her, but PE is easier but different to other cruisers I've played (only to Nurnberg in the German line so far)

One of the things I learned as a DD driver in ranked is never to use speed boost to get to the initial objective CAP zone, as your team will be too far behind to support you if contact is made (if there is hard cover, then yes, it can be used, but that is quite rare).

While very true.. the Atago cannot be used to train German captains...

Very nice piece, lets hope they listen (and understand).

IFHE works on secondaries though, so Warspite secondary spec with IFHE, that works. IFHE might be useful for the DD line when if comes out.

I thoroughly recommend HMS Ulysses - and she is an 'improved Dido' class CL. Agreed, AM wrote some superb stuff.
-
HMS Ulysses remains one of my favourite books, to this day. Every few years I dust her off and take her a for a read. For those who have never Ulyssied - https://www.amazon.co.uk/HMS-Ulysses-Alistair-MacLean/dp/0006135129/ref=sr_1_1?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1499704649&sr=1-1&keywords=hms+ulysses

HSF Harekaze and Graf Spee in the premium shop
philjd replied to Nechrom's topic in General Discussion
If the Harekaze can be use for normal IJN Captains, can the HSF Graff Spee also be used that way?- 146 replies

My wallet is waiting... The Dido's will be premiums I suspect.

The later versions of the Tone's aircraft ('43-'45) could carry 2 small bombs apiece (125lb's then 250lb's), so not earth shattering.
-
I'd agree with most of that - except for Leander - which is workable, IMO. Danae and Emerald are a "challenge".
-
I always thought that the aircraft on the Tones (and the hybrid BB's) were scouts only - so that the CV's could carry more strike craft? On the assumption that that is true, then the Tone a/c could by default have 2 catapult aircraft, with a possibility of 3 if the skill is taken, but with double the orbital radius? That would not be OP, nor would the driver have to worry about managing the aircraft and fighting the ship at the same time. The Tone's a/c are most famous for making a mess of Midway for the IJN, so they certainly should not be 'that' capable.

I thought there was one already - in the game settings screen? ________________ While maybe not cheeseheads.. we have a saying, in a very naval orientated country (once), that "sticks and stones may break my bones, but words cannot hurt me" - which is true enough, only 'you' can let the words/thoughts etc of others influence how you feel or react (although psychologists wold probably disagree with that).
-
My closest Captain to 19 is 13.... so not currently an option :)
-
That's an awesome amount of XP - what was the base value?
-
will give her a miss - I already have 3 ships that are not part of a line, and Captain xp grinding is...slow (just need to spend more time in the ships which given that there are 'progressive' lines, won't happen). [Same with the Polish DD and also ARP etc ships)

OK, I am not a good player (better than average I think though) and have reached rank 8 - that will do me for this season, I am not consistent enough to do much more than 'contribute' to the win, sometimes with a large contribution, but those are offset by too many potato moments to be of real use to my teams. I have learned a lot, thank you to those I have played with - both alongside and against for those lessons. With apologies to those I let down also. For those who think that Ranked should be reserved for those 'deserving' of it (whether by ship tier or whatever statistical "analysis" - don't be daft, ranked is a much better place to learn stuff than in random. It's only by actually having to rely upon yourself and the active co-operation/coordination of the team that you can actually truly measure yourself, and ranked is incomparably better than randoms for that. Bon voyage to those remaining in the season. ______________________________________ Edit - ok, changed my mind as I saw the stats from http://wows-numbers.com/season/id,7/ and decided that actually I deserve to up there and continuing despite my odd stupid moment(s).

The Dreadnought design spec was for it to be able to fire at least 6 main caliber guns in all directions (so 6 forward and aft, 8 broadside) - for me, from Vol 1 of the Fisher papers.
-
Always nice to get feedback other than the semi-normal rants - people seem to dish out compliments/complaints more frequently in ranked than otherwise, I think because everyone on each team is more of an individual instead of 'part of the blob'.
-
I would still have given her a bash even without cruiser type ricochet - they can always tweak if she proved UP.
