I don't recognise those - where did they come from? (not saying they are wrong). Warships today gives EU averages as 52.16% w/r, 33007 damage, 35% survive, 1.3k/death (I appreciate that 'private' stats are not included in those, but have no idea which way that would swing the numbers).

ok 1) The Fubu has the second best concealment after the Hatsuhara, so it is very good for scouting 2) Speed - yes slowish, I use a speed boost module on mine which works very well. 3) Torps - you cannot expect much from long range spamming, unless the target is stationary or the ubiquitous 'straight line' driver - and yes, there are some in every tier that I have fought in so far which is up to R6. 4) I've used mine for capping, scouting, some smoking in addition to torping. I've enjoyed my ranked battles in the Fubu so far with a positive win rate also. So stick with her - I had a really bad day in her on Sunday, but still worth it.

Does anyone know what is happening with the Warships today site please, as it seems to be broken (and offline currently)? thanks

Lemming trains are now a viable tatic?
philjd replied to _AbleArcher83_'s topic in General Discussion
A lemming train only comes into being when an overwhelming concentration of force meets up with the possibility of getting paint scratched and starts to dither pointlessly. -
It's not so far back - I had friends in the RN who sailed with the Taskforce (FAA helicopters), none were casualties thank heavens. Personally I blame the political leaders, not the people fighting, who are only "doing their jobs". Belgrano - the contention over that is 'where' it was when sunk (outside the exclusion zone) not the fact that it was sunk in and of itself (although the casualty count was very high, sadly). I doubt the Bellorussians will give a damn, like most people won't as it is now 'history' to most, but it will allow trolls to have a field day. Sargento_YO - well said :)

There are quite a few interesting choices available if we delve into the South American Navies (including CV's) - but I doubt that Belgrano would make it into the game - too close to home for breaking the 'no politics' discussion rules....

Does this mean that the Duca swings both ways, bats for both sides..isn't sure whether it is a kilt or a skirt etc? ..sorry couldn't resist. And I am rubbish in my Kutuzov so far.

Sorry mate, but totally disagree with this in principle. Why do I disagree? 1) Ranked is all about wining the battle, doesn't matter how well you perform when you lose ('perform' being extremely difficult to judge for being 'effective' in the battle). 2) Why should winning team members not get rewarded for winning? 3) Losing team - they lost, they should all loose a star, either not enough players were good enough to win, OR not enough skill for the team to be carried. 4) WG have recently tweaked how it rewards gameplay, perhaps in a better direction to reward the spotting, tanking, capping etc. Eg doesn't matter if you are that DD that scouts, spots, caps but doesn't do any damage IF the rest of your team use those to finish up the win. 5) The 'win' should always out-reward a loss by a significant margin. Yes, you can be 'top of the pile' of the losing side, but that does not mean that you have actually played well, some one is always top, regardless of how well/badly they played. Your proposal would reward bad BB drivers who's only aim would be to stay alive and do damage. Now that doesn't sound so bad... perhaps... but actually it would be interpreted as 'stuff the rest of you this is for me only', so removes any attempt at teamplay and actually winning the battle because it doesn't matter if you win or lose as long as you farm enough.

Yesterday was strange in ranked - I started the day on 7/0, went to 6/1, back to 8/0 then up to 7/2 and called it quits. I gave up playing BB's at about R17 and concentrated on CA/DD - you can tell how you are going to do in a match by:- 1) How many BB's try to fit into 1 puff of smoke, the higher that number the lower the chances of a win. 2) Torp corridors - there are corridors into CAP zones that are perfect for DD's to shoot torps through safely - I caught 2 BB's, 1 CA and a DD that way yesterday, all dead. 3) How far away from the action zones BB's go 4) do the BB's co-ordinate with each other (this does not mean cluster together as that is a DD's dream 'target rich environment') 5) Are DD's priority targets. Still, it's a teaching environment for those wanting to. To the OP - with respect, it doesn't matter where you sit in the losing hierarchy - ranked is not about placement, it is about winning each battle individually. I've found that I ranked up to 10th fairly easily, then bounced around 8/9 for a couple of days, then moved to 7/6. This is down to my skill ceiling. But I do not expect to 'grind' my way to R1 as that would be soul destroying for me, but I will 'float' above those who are not as good as I am, bouncing off those better than I am, until the season ends or I get to R1. (Hopefully improving all the time until I am good enough to carry poor teams).

Next Premium CV's (after Graff Zepelin) are likely to be Ark Royal then perhaps an italian or french one?

Funny and sad game situations shown with map screenshots.

They all stayed there, "safeguarding" the no cover CAP while the reds ground them down from cover? -
Thank you for the interest guys - and apologies to you but I have decided to join NNA.

Ok, I've been around since the forums were first opened, but my availability to play comes in fits and bursts due to RL - I also gave up on the game shortly after the RN CL's were first released due to being annoyed with WG and the T4/T5 cl's (and the other lower tier ships to a lesser degree). What I am looking for is a clan where I can learn to play better, enjoy some banter, division up, participate in competitions and generally stop being a solo enthusiast but be part of a group of similar enthusiasts. I have a generally mature and relaxed approach but focused when needed. Capable of buying my own beers but without qualifying for a bus pass! Ships in harbour - all lines to Tiers 5-8 other than German DD's (not started), quite a few premiums. Both TS3 and also Discord. http://wows-numbers.com/player/501929820,philjd/

I am quite happy to stand up and admit that I have done stupid things in ranked battles - "yes I can do that with this ship in this battle' only to find out that no I couldn't. But luckily it is rare. Also quite happy to defend my presence in ranked battles as it is a superb place to learn how to play better, much better than randoms. But, if I do have a crap battle, I do apologise to the others and very rarely do I get anything as a response (only 2 "I told you so" moments and a couple of 'idiot' comments, usually from those already dead).

Is this possible? Landear did not sunk with 7 torpedos
philjd replied to Luis_Veloso's topic in General Discussion
Actually - noob question perhaps - if you hit a dead ship with a torp does it still get recorded as a hit? -

Here you go - damage saturation in real life. USS Minneapolis after Tassafronga. ;) -
The game doesn't crash for me - just never get the 'start battle' button appearing - but I do need to crash out and restart, which fixes it, for that battle.

Which competition do I have to do to get that ship? -
With respect.. something of an exaggeration there..equating a real bunch of sicko's with people who are merely incompetent in a computer game... But I sympathise, players can do the oddest of things.
-
Yes, you do get xp/credits for capping/sharing the cap - but sitting in a virtual circle on a virtual map is not why any of us play this game :) The likely fact that most of those ships that left the cap haven't a hope in hell of actually doing anything to the Cambeltown before it gets sunk or the cap is complete is a very different question about the thought process,if any, behind their decisions to do that

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?
philjd replied to Hanszeehock's topic in General Discussion
My first contribution to this thread I think. Does getting my Anshan TK'd in the Cap zone at the start of a ranked battle by a Farrgut letting off 'pre-emptive torps' in my direction from about zero range (to me) and not losing my cool over it count? We still won, but a 'zero contribution' victory for me... annoying. -
When I first saw this, without looking properly at it, I assumed that because they left the cap (or didn't cap) that the OP's side lost the battle, that would be the only reason to complain in my mind. If the time remains and there is no risk of losing because of it, then chase the bugger down. Minor inconvenience to the OP apparently, but it's a team game and we all have our own objectives within that, so work with others.

ok, 108 battles, started at 23rd (ground zero), now 8th. 1) Drop those ships you cannot make work 2) as a DD, stay alive but 'present' - initial cap capture or scout the others, do not get taken off the "board". Spotting. 3) CL - creep around and splatter targets while minimising return fire options using smoke and terrain 4) Stay alive but present and active - if the enemy are trying to shoot you but cannot for whatever reason then they are not shooting at your team mates who are hopefully shooting the red ships who are ignoring them at the same time. Although I think that NO4 sums it up for me and no, I do not mean border camping.
