    Poll about Cv spotting.

It can be today if you let it. Just uninstall and buy yourself a new game for your good effort or check your backlog.

4 years later, I am back.... and I am regreting.

And the sad thing is that it is within the capabilitelies of both the groundwork as well as WG themselves to make it that game. They just actively seem to steer away from it, while if they just balance some stuff, they would have a (more) happy community that will make them even more money. I mean, that would be a win-win.

I really hope with you that WG will finally do something about CVs that makes them less intrusive and rediculous. Would be nice to be able to play any class without feeling like a total jerk for doing so. I am fearing though, with WG's track record of fixing what doesn't need to be fixed and visa versa. We zullen zien.

I also got a year of premium but as a sane human I keep the game uninstalled. I appreciate you playing CVs in ops only, but you also know that there is no such thing a "needing to complete all silver tech tree lines". That is complete bs and you know it, right, Veni? The game, and life, goes on even though you let that unbalanced piece of crap programming rot in port. Everytime you touch a CV, WG's speadsheets tell them how much more fun CVs are. "Look how much effort Veni put in CVs to get them all to TX. CVs must be super fun and a favorite of him.". You know WG won't look at it in any other way. The only way to make a point is if everyone stops playing the class, but most people either don't care or try to find ways to play the class while trying to look thoughtful about the community. Just stop playing the class. You'll see how fast WG will make changes to the class if there are 0 CVs in MM.

First, don't ever pay for stuff before testing it if you don't have to. Secondly, I totally agree with you. I have been free from this game (uninstalled) for half a year now and I only roam the forums hoping WG will really take a hard approach to balance CVs and trying to let WG and CV players see the truth of what they are doing to the rest of the community. I have tried lists with concrete problems with CVs in the game right now, I tried showing the forum thoughts about CVs through polls but nothing really gets through to the nessecary parties. So best stay away for an extra 4 years, though nothing will have changed for the best.
  7. Hehehe, I agree. But it is so super clear with this dev as they can't go 1 month without doing something that upsets the community, and I am taking in account that most gaming communities like to complain a lot. But most of the time it is complaining on a lvl like it used to be here, the BBabies and the OP ships like the Kamikazes and Kleber etc or the camping at T10. But the things happening here now are heavy balance issues and this company bluntly doing everything to shake down their playerbase for money at every turn.
  8. You no wise [edited], you just telling it how it is/looks like. WG already proved that even with the amount of shameful disregard and people dishonering things they have done, people still happily play their game and spend all their money on new pixelships. They have the monopoly on this type of Warship game and have put down a very enjoyable base gameplay routine. If you want to play this kind of game, then you have to play this game. And most people, just like in the rest of their lives, rather give in to their needs than to keep their foot steady and say "F you, I am done with this sh@t!" no matter how much they take it in the black hole. And WG looooooves to have so many b*tches that just come back for more. "Yes, he hits me, makes me feel like trash, doesn't take my wishes in account, denegrates me in front of my friends, takes all my money, forces and uses me whenever HE want, but hey, the s** is good." I mean, the number of timrs WG has had to apologize because of taking the community for granted and the amount of times WG should have apologized. And that is all we ever get: an apology, an meaningless piece of text with empty words that neither hits the core of the problem, sets up a plan for how to do better and after it nothing happens, apart from another (pair of) event(s) which need apology letters, which then come from community managers instead of the people that made the mistakes. And from this post and that of @Verblonde's it seems WG tries to get more of its b*tches back, which you can see as WG directly scr*ws them over by denying them the promised items, which were too good to be true. This will probably result in a useless apology after which everyone happily starts up the game again. Well, if WoWs and their community is one thing, it is a nice example of how even in this day and age people don't care about being taken advantage of over and over by a corporation, a government or person that can give them something pleasurable and rewarding and they keep coming back no matter how they are treated. Ah, well, shall we do another match? Ah, that is true, I don't have the game installed :)

Fun and engaging from the MM, WG style

But, all that play the special ships say you have a fun experience if you just dodge. Even WG says the stat sheet say you have a fun time. How can a game with 2 CVs and 2 subs not be a fun game? /S off But yeah, that is why I uninstalled. I really love the core of the game, like it was when the CVs were put in the dockyard getting their revamp, but after they were back, it has pretty much become worse and worse. Everyone that plays surface ships feels the same way. I made a poll on who would choose a game mode a la random but without CVs over random with CVs and 80+ percentage would choose the CVless mode. I made a poll if people would choose a mode without any of the surface ships, still 80+% went for the option "still exclude CVs". @Andrewbassg made a poll to get rid of CV spotting, more than 2/3 choose for getting rid of it. From all the ships in the game, there only has been a stickied General CV and a General Sub discussion thread, because non of the other ship classes brought so much discussion to the table as those two classes. Yes, everybody that sails BBs are BBabies, and DDs are either crybabies or cheaters and Cruiser captains are noobs and campers, showing broadside all the time and hig islands. But at the end of the day, we love to have all the 3 classes in the game and play with and against them. There is no special thread for them as nobody feels the need to discuss them. CVs and Subs (to a certain level) have a thread about how big a PitA they are, how broken they are, how frustrating a match with them in it is on the frontpage every single day, next to their own Stickies (which are more a spot where captains of those classes congregate to tell eachother how awesome their class is). But CV players don't care about the pain of surface ships and WG just loves to tend to CV players as surface ship players are old news and money is now in CVs and Subs. So the day that WG will post a "We heard you and we will work at a solution to correct the issue within the month" will never come. So you can either sail around in your surface ship and be the plaything/b*tch and take it in the A from the depths or from the skies, neither which you can counter or avoid. Or just hit that uninstall button if you refuse to turn into an @ss yourself and ruin other people's day by also playing CVs/Subs.

WG please show CV players some love!

It's not about balance for the devs. They don't care CVs get hated on either. They care about money. CVs still make lots of money and even though CVs are broken and CV players get hated on, CV players still play CVs. Hence no negativity coming from the devs. Its not rocket science nor that they are particularly positive to CV players over Surface Ship players. Money is what count. It's the only thing that counts.
  11. FukushuNL

    Is this a warship game?

I hope that CVs are not falling under the classes designed for experienced players for you as there is no skill required laying in the back sending planes to the other side of the map. CV captains are indeed the ones that demand magic, action and simple clicking instead of risk/reward, skill and balance.

    Poll about Cv spotting.

Why? How much effort does a CV have to exert to find a ship atm? Non. Will that change? No. CVs don't need that extra help from their team to be effective and a particularly strong adversary on the battlefield. They have already many things that make them an effective hunter-killer over all other ships in the match. They are in no need to have their loss of spotting for their friends balanced in any way. Loss of spotting does NOT mean they lose any potential strength. The only thing that is lost is the potential strength that the rest of your team might bring, which is rediculous and goes against some of the core mechanics that used to make this game interesting and fun, and which might be restored a bit with this change. Again, even with this change, the attackpower of CVs, their hunting potential, their survivability, their control over the match, everything that makes them already OP, still there. CV spotting loss does not have to be compensated.

If you lose your dd due to stupidness, you lose him anyways. Stupidness should not be a reason to balance out a game. Then the devs should build up the game in a totally different way. You can't try to seek ways out with broken stuff just because you got idiots in your team or because your team is the first to lose somebody. Or because one team got all the radars and the other one doesn't. Or one team got the stealth DDs and the other one got the Khabas and Klebers. If you want that balancing you should go somewhere else, as that balance went out the door long ago, good sir/madam. What you describe in your third paragraph is akin to your driver in a carting race has made a stupid mistake, so you just switch him with your driver in his F1 car. You just suplementing idiocy or bad luck everyone has to deal with in this game with broken overpoweredness. "Yeah, my paintball rifle broke, so I brought a bazooka. Just carry on all, it's all balanced". In no way does the spotting potential of a lost DD come close to the spotting potential of the CV. In fact, the potential of a CV totally negates any usefulness of most DD. Which is already one of the problems. One team or the other in EACH AND EVERY match loses a DD first or starts with one less DD. That is part of the game. Needing to get something that took over its job with the same effectiveness every time a ship sinks makes the game either boring and/or long. And it makes the game even less fun if the suplemented ship is 10 times as OP as the ship that got killed. Yeah, thinking at it logically, it still boggles the mind why WG hasn't implemented it already as there is really nothing that you can bring against it apart from CV captains losing their trolling toy called unlimited spotting. In reality ofcourse, every bad look from CV players will avert WG from making a change to the anything that would take away from a CV's feeling of being thd best. Certainly things that only indirectly makes a huge difference, but is not that obvious a problem, right? And you don't believe yourself that WG can't fix spotting in less then a month (or two if they take it slow) to find and implement a way to balance spotting, do you? Let alone 3 years. Which we indeed have to wait again for something to happen 😁👍🏻

    Poll about Cv spotting.

I am humbled. I hope its clear that I what I want is to have a game that is fun for everyone and finally balanced enough everyone can play all classes without feeling like a jerk that spoils the fun for everyone. Although some people openly don't care about others at the moment, sadly playing CVs, knowing what they do to other people's games. I to want CVs to work, but I can't play a class that everyone knows is broken and knowingly kill all the fun for the rest of the people I play with. Enough people don't care though, so playing against CV every game made me quit :) Anyways, I can not believe why WG hasn't come up with taking away spotting from CVs to tone them down a bit (also from hybrids ofc) as it just takes away so much frustration and giving non in return. It's just the same step as for Dutch Airstrikes, for the same reason and even more people will be happy about it. Even if WG woud have thought about it, there us no reason why they won't use it as it does not take anything away from CVs. They would just take out an overamount of spotting from the game. CVs can still do as much damage, play the same way as first, are still as strong against ships as before, only the rain of shelks that are not their own anyways and have no influence over will not follow their spotting anymore. It makes the game Better. In every way. It just gets more fun. For everyone. CV spotting is not even a point on which CVs are getting balanced on statwise. Only the spotting range of them spotting the enemy. So the bubble of the CV attacking the enemy ship is considered during balancing. The rest is not taken into consideration by the devs either. So take it away and if does not affect balancing CVs by the devs. Which is already one of the reasons we are in this mess to begin with. If there was a WoWs dev here, I would dare him to come with any meaningful reason why not to stop CVs spotting their enemies for their team. And meaningful does not include "it hurts CV players feelings/fun that they cannot misuse their broken ability to spot to kill enemy ships super easily". Apart from losing the ability to fly circles around any enemy on the battlefield for an easy kill, there is nothing that CV players will not be able to do that they can't do already. So why is WG still refusing to put this really brilliant way to bring a semblance of balance back to the game? If it is because hurting some CV captains' feelings by taking away their their broken spotting, the devs have to really ralk amongst themselves how much this change would really do for CV abilities, where the real powers and skills of CVs lies and should be focused on and if CV spotting is really something that take any skill and effort from the CV player or is just an oversight (and a big one at that) that in fact has nothing to do with CV skills, does not show anything about how great the CV player is at playing the game, does almost nothing for the CV's points and is really just something that hurts the game and only makes the game better if it would be removed.

    Poll about Cv spotting.

Minimap spotting would do the same, apart from it showing the position and heading of the enemy ship instead of you telling your teammates. I'd still go for complete spotting incapability as that also takes away the use of the minimap circle aiming. Also, what don't you think isn't right? The spotting potential of CVs while other ships nuke the spotted surface ship or the incapability of CVs spotting? Cause if it is the latter, I can give you a list of things that aren't right about CVs versus a surface ship if you want to talk things surface ships can't do that your precious FDR can or having no chance to do against it. Taking away spotting by CVs is only a step toward balancing CVs, any of them a still massively OP when it comes to survivability, staying power, hunting enemies, supporting allies and attacking surface ships.

    Poll about Cv spotting.

Really, getting rid of CV spotting has no negetive effects for any of the people playing the game other than people that love to use their OPness to spot everything for their teammates. For the rest, noone is negatively affected by it. The planes only lose their ability to get assisted nukes from their team, they don't lose the ability to nuke themselves. They also don't lose their ability to hunt anything down. Their planes still are mostly immune to most surface ships, they still can attack without risk of retaliation, they still have their AA, no chance of burning, no chance of flooding, etc, etc, etc. They still play exactly the same, with 99% of what makes them OP against surface ships. The only thing that changes is that when a CV attacks, the enemy can focus on the CV attack and doesn't have to worry about the rest of the team nuking him down. So CV captains have still max power CVs, while surface ships doesn't get deleted by an attack that is not the CV's every time a CV spots a ship. It doesn't make the game fair, but it does take a big step in the right direction and it is a great compromise no matter which way you look at it. The more I think about it the more it makes sense and the moreI wonder why people are against it, apart from those that only get off of the trollishly OP spotting potential of CVs.

    Poll about Cv spotting.

Your reasoning is not really that strong to vote nay, tbh. You want to protect DDs more? You should've voted yes. I'l explain: CV spotting is very bad for DDs as a whole as they can be permaspotted where rest of the enemy team can shoot down the DD. So if you want to protect your "suicide DD", the best thing that can happen is that even though the enemy CV spots your DD, the rest of their team does not get the chance to do so. Except if there is an enemy DD, but against that, at least your Yolo DD stands a chance to delete it or run from it, which it has no chance of doing against a plane. Should your DD still get killed, your CV still has all the other tools at its disposal to assist with hunting the enemy DD, including giving his position/pinging him and outright killing him. So if you want to protect your own DDs more, you are better off without CVs being able to continuously spot everything so the enemy team loses the ability to concentrate fire on any target on the map. That also includes DDs that are not yoloing, btw, or any other ship for that matter that tries to make a move or flip a cap.
  18. ....would you rather play that? Just 1 mode with only domination or something like that. For fairness I also added a more overal poll, but since imho the 3 surface ship classes are the core of the game from the start and CVs really stick out of the crowd, so to speak (and seemingly by far the more discussed class, one way or the other), CVs get their own poll. So what mode would you play, hypothetically? (To keep the 2nd poll clean I only put the one ship exclusion option there. If you would exlcude more ships of the current types, so no subs as they are not yet in, go ahead and add that to your comment.)

    Poll about Cv spotting.

@YabbaCoe @Seraphice I also like to ask anyone what kind of impact getting rid of CV spotting would have on CVs and the rest of the game. CVs -would lose the power of active spotting; -would lose the chance of using "dmg upon your spotting; -would have their xp balanced for losing spotting xp, however less that might be. But that is it. -They would still be able to hunt ships and tell their team where enemy ships are located via chat/ping; -They won't lose any xp from their most prominent source, damage -They still will keep their immunity to counterattacks. -Everything else that matters stays the same for CVs. -actual spotting can be done by the other ships, just like it had been done in the year without CVs and like it is done in CV less games. As for the rest of the battle. -the only thing that changes is that ships that CVs can no more be the cause of concentrated fire or tell other ships information that normally can be acquired via the minimap or spotting, like position, movement, angle etc. And that really is taking a big leap towards having a better balanced and way more fun experience for everyone involved. Also it will not take away from the CV captain experience as his/her own spotting stays the same, their attacks stay the same, survivability stays the same, everything except their overpowered spotting capabilities stay the same. And even that latter part keeps some things intact, like hunting DDs and the ability of giving others their general location. And I can't believe that this takes months to change and test. Spotting range must be a slider or number in the programming of the game. Putting them all on zero should be not even an hour's work. Then put it on a special PTU for a week, or even better, enter it on live via Supertesters and see what changed. Within a week or two, you should have enough data to see if it is balanced, what changed and how the changes affected CV performance. My predictions: -CV performance didn't change much as it doesn't affect overall CV gameplay anyways. -feedback from surface ship captains will be mostly neutral to positive, probably mostly positive as they can now focus on only the CV attack instead of being spotted by everyone in the enemy camp. -in the end game results nothing will really change as the major xp components of CVs are still intact. The only issue I can forsee is that CV captains will be against this as they like trolling surface ships by flying circles around them so their friends have a permaspot on the enemy ship without having to get out of cover to spot themselves. For the rest,

    Poll about Cv spotting.

I totally agree. I would instantly reinstall the game and play the game with a big smile no matter what CV, Sub or Supership comes my way. If only CV spotting would disappear. Afaik they don't get that much XP from it anyways and it is only that much more frustrating because spotting as a mechanic is balanced towards slow moving ships, counterspotting, concealment, smoke and radar, all with their own ranges to make things interesting. CV spotting just sh*ts on all that and is super broken. If you compare CVs to other ships, even the hated Subs and Superships, there is no other ship that has unlimited range, the kind of speed to catch anything in the game where ever they are on the map, attack everywhere on the map, spot everywhere on the map, and all within half a minute. And free from counterattacks or any other risks if the CV captain got any intelligence. You bring a very good point to the table. With planes, subs, DDs and radar there is not much places to hide or us e concealment stats, which really stops the game from progressing as it should, like using flanking tactics, surprise attacks, etc. Everytime someone tries to make a move against an enemy or tries to take a cap, planes will be on that person in seconds, while radars will light up the whole place. And then you get nuked by concentrated fire. What you are talking about wreally is what the game is missing. Something to make the concealment stat more of a prominent thing again.
  21. Hahaha, you have a knack for calling out other people for your own shortcomings. If there is one person that should be called ignorant, it is you, with your "I don't care about other people" bs still playing CVs while knowing the amount of balancing issues that are at the core of the whole class. Coming with some small issues and calling that WG listening to the community. Those problems are a drop in the ocean of CV problem and the least WG could do. And those problems pertained to unique CVs, not to the class as a whole which has problems that are way worse than some simple balancing.
  22. Well, sometimes one would think :) It's just that WoWs started like an ode to early to mid 20th century warships, celebrating the legendary ships from that time and the team responsible for the game listened and responded with positive changes. There was discourse. Now, nothing, only money and matketing/pr talk. But then WoWs wasn't something from WG anyways for a long time, being run by that other company. Now, it really feels like a F2P game, catering to the supercasuals and the whales. Not the fan project feel the game had in the beginning, with something that resembled a motivated dev team and a community that held the good of the game and the community as highest priorities.
  23. Every company should have a small, but hardcore gaming team that only plays the game (though some already have, I think, QA teams), which should filter out at least balance issues. Bugs are harder to find and can happen because of individual differences like game rigs.
  24. I know you don't care about other people enjoying the game. You play a class that you openly admit has lots of things wrong with it and you still keep playing it. With how many more words do you want to explain your are only caring about yourself? Yeah, I don't play CVs, or Subs. I would like to play them, but I do care for the gameplay fun of my community member, so I don't play those classes. So call me a scrub. You are egocentric. Me: caring. You: screwing. Me: trying to make a difference by not playing what I want to play. You: playing what you want while knowing you hurt others with it. Me: trying to come up with reasons to back up what I say. You: cherrypick truths that suits you and then add "that's enough". I quit the game for half a year already, but I like to check tge forums from time to time to see if WG finally got some balance back into the game. Telling people like you the truth about yourself, hoping you see the light someday too, is a nice passtime while trying to get this game back on the rails with giving support for change. I mean, how can you play something in a multiplayer pvp game, knowing that it is broken and feel good about yourself. How do you justify it in your head that you are doing the right thing making other people's lives more misserable? I can't do that, which is why I stopped playing the class. And then you come to the forums defending the fact that you willingly play the class and knowingly make your communitymembers gamesession an unfun one. And then you call me a scrub.
  25. Well, a level that make them come to the forum where they understand the issues we are working with and don't have to be told everything every time and have to excuses themselves for not noticing things themselves would be nice. But then most things they probably can't talk or agree about with, as it would go against the company to agree with all the broken things and "screw the community" moments. So they just smile and misdirect.
