I agree. Though Mikasa is a special case for me personally because I love her potential, which is just not getting met, certainly with the increasing amount of people that know about her weaknesses. It's not that I don't want all (low-tier) ships to be as fun as they can be, but Mikasa don't need much to make her a fun to play ship. A bit less luck needed per game to make her gimmick work, so to speak. She is slow, her Main guns a slow, cross-eyed and with only 4 cannons in total and this all matters not. Her plus points just don't make her fun to play in the current game as they are easilly omitted by the enemy, even if they aren't aware of it :) The main event are her secundaries (I believe everyone that went for gameplay bought her for that) and most of the time she's too slow to get into a spot for them to fire. It's just frustrating that she doesn't need much to make her fun, without making her more powerful.
-
So the scenario could be with any ship of those tiers :) And Mikasa being played like "a floating hotel" has zero usefulness, so playing it like that is never a real option ofc :) So you really just had a nice low tier battle with a random ship that was in this care the Mikasa ;) Which is great, mind you. I'll throw it on a difference of opinion, but I think Mikasa is deffo not fine the way she is. Also, with her main guns it's mostly hit or miss, miss, miss, miss, miss, miss, miss , miss miss, or miss, etc :) I wouldn't use the word exciting with her gunplay.
-
But the big question is: was the Mikasa the reason it was satisfying and why?
-
This is exactly reverse nation of what I experience in the topic ship, as it is Japanse, but the rest still is exactly true. The only way I gain any advantage in Mikasa is to shorten the range of fight, a knife fight if you will. But after a few battles, the enemy knows that they should keep their distance fighting Mikasa. Plus the enemy most of the time in Mikasa's MM has better equipment, better guns, etc.
-
My personal experience is that they stay just out of reach, drop their torps and then swim away a bit. It's like fish that are perfectly staying just out of reach from you.

There is a new SF movie posted on WoWS site, go watch it!
FukushuNL replied to 22cm's topic in General Discussion
Saw that too, yeah xD They turn faster than Minotaur's mains xD Well, can't blame WG :) They made great vids with lots of emotions for the other countries, so they couldn't leave out their own nation. Who cares that the other vids followed historically correct images and this one doesn't? :) -
Agreed. Survivability is good enough. Juuuuuuust a little alteration in the Mikasa files concerning secundary range ;) 3 to 5, all it takes.
-
Excatly what I was thinking xD a bit more dispersion and you can shoot ships on port and starbord side of the ship, with one turret :) But I wouldn't mind it if the secundaries got a few more kms range because of it. I don't need the ship to become stronger, just more fun to play with. Longer range secundaries would do that for me. They too still have quite a bad accuracy anyways.
-
But the thing is, you don't really get into range because it's prolly the slowest ship by far in it's MM bracket. Plus doing dmg isn't really the issue here. It's the fun you have doing it. when the main batteries hit, they do quite a lot dmg for it's tier, but they're no fun. The secundaries are the fun part of the ship, but you can almost never use them.
-
I very much agree to your concerns. I also thought about this as she's aT2 premium and most people buying her are probably people that played the game for a while. On the other hand it does feel a bit that people in her matchmaking seem to recognise the ship and know what to do against her.

I hope it will be 3.5 and I don't hope it will be 300k coal :O I wonder how this one will be received after the disappointment that is Azuma. Been thinking of getting Alasa, but I'm so anti-radar that I just can't get myself to fork over the FXP.

Social Justice Warships: Campaign to Fix CVs censored from Reddit
FukushuNL replied to FixCVs_Nautical_Metaphor's topic in General Discussion
I don't understand the petition. I mean, I understand people dislike the CVs, as 90% of the 1st page on the gameplay forums is about them. Seeing this and reading the content of all those posts, I reckon WG does the same and probably more thorough then I do/can. So they know how the community thinks about CVs, right? They have to, they just have. The complaints are everywhere, even ingame sometimes. But what I don't get about putting up this petition is that one key sentence makes the whole petetion void if you take everything in consideration: "And in the end, it is Wargaming's prerogative to do what they please with their game.". "Take what into consideration" you say? We got more than 2 months of CV rework gameplay behind us. That's: - Two months of those that threaten to leave WoWs because of the CV rework could do so. - Two months of anti/pro CV rework threads in the forums. - Two months of comments from the community about how they feel about the CVs. - Two months of testing happening on live servers monitored by WG. - Two months of a rather respectful amount of players playing CVs if every game features at least 1 CV (and seemingly mostly 2) per game. So if you are warning your petitioners that in the end WG may do what they want with their game and everyone has to live with it, I don't understand the purpose of the petition. Taking that part in account next to everything about CVs that has been written and said about CVs, the rest of the text sounds like "We try to take away the fun those that want to play the game and A. don't care about the CV either way or B. like to play CVs by sabotaging the game for them in what way we can until WG's perogative changes to getting rid of CVs because that's what's best for all of us and thus for them". Maybe WG thought about it the same way and didn't think this petition would be in the best interest of ALL of their (paying) customers, including those that like to play the game and are fine with it as it is now. -
Agreed. just a lousy 2 extra km woulld make a real difference.

Do you actually like space battles or rather have other content ?
FukushuNL replied to Beastofwar's topic in General Discussion
O, I am all for them making money, but you can buy whole games for a ship or even a camo in wows. You can buy season passes with a year worth of content for a camo. Capcom with Monster Hunter gives everything for free. Weapons, camos, monsters, everything. And it's not that Wows ships sell that bad. So I don't think that a camo or two to play for would be that outrageous. Plus if they put them up for grinding AND dubloons, they would still make big bucks out of it. Or maybe sell them for 5 bucks a piece, people would have an easier time with it. I had a whole thing written down about WG prices and people tripping over eachother to pay them, but I'll just say if people want WG to take all their money, WG should deffo take it. In my humble opinion 30 dollar is just too much for a single camo and for me there is nothing else to play the event for, that's all. Personal opinion, nothing more. -

Afaik, the unique camos are dubloons only. -

Yes i like the events. No I'm not playing this one. Why? All the cool loot is hidden behind a paywall. Can't even get one original model/camo from just playing the game. nah, have to pay 30 euro per camo/model to spruse up my ship. Are you FFing crazy, WG? -
That's really the only thing Azuma has going for her. Ballistics of her guns are good. The rest is meh, crap or non-existent, but her guns aren't exceptional to balance everything out :/
-
Don't have her, but besides she adding to the amount of radar that prevails today, I don't really mind her all that much. American T8+ BBs are just good overall. Graet AA, great AP, great bowtanking, good overall manouverability. And that includes Missouri.
-
WG seems to think Azuma is a challenge for Alaska: "Cruiser Alaska's nemesis—the powerful and fast Japanese cruiser Azuma—is already in the game!" "Purchase the legendary Japanese Tier IX cruiser that’s capable of challenging cruiser Alaska herself!" Any scenario where Azuma and Alaska captains think Azuma will come out on top?
-
So basically Azuma is quite lackluster for the 1M free xp that you put down for it? :/ That's a shame. I'd love to buy her as she isn't a gaydar ship like the Alaska. It's a shame they took the Kron out of the fxp line as that was 750k. Now we got a BC that isnt special and even worse, has some obvious weak points with not much to balance them out. For 1M fxp... Doesn't sound like a good deal to me. Would take the citadel and brick for granted if het guns were exeptional, but the fire chance ain't specatacular and neither seems het aim to be. Or her range.

Space Warships Intergalactic Games: Space Assault
FukushuNL replied to The_EURL_Guy's topic in News & Announcements
I'm not digging this patch. New ships in the Arse...uhm, armory!....for dubloons. New cool space camo's in the armory!.....for dubloons. Seriously, I looked forward to playing the space games and get some cool new camo's in the process, but then you had to go and lock them away behind reall money. No reason for me to play the space games except from maybe a few games for fun. But then I really only enjoyed Torp beats so I'll have to wait a few weeks for that. I am glad that Azumais available though, so that's a positive thing. -
I have decided to stop playing for WR and instead focus on having fun. Its not worth the stress or time to focus on battle outcomes!!!
FukushuNL replied to ___V_E_N_O_M___'s topic in General Discussion
It's even cringier to judge people in a multiplayer 12 man team game on their personal W/L rating. Or to put people words in their mouth, as I don't see the OP excluding him/herself from the equation. -
I understand exactly what you say, OP :) Being a DD is hard these days because CA/BB mains think it's like around this time last year, when CVs seemed extinct and only a handful of ships had radar. Now just save yourself first and see if you can do anything useful second. Try to contest caps, but if you can't, staying alive and not capping is preferred above getting the cap, die and then losethe cap again eventually.

WG - Add more heroic music to the game, thank you
FukushuNL replied to AirSupremacy's topic in General Discussion
Lol, this thread crashed even before lift off xD.... ...except maybe for this one :) This one I wouldn't mind playing CVs with. -
For CV users only please. Do you find a 2v2 CV matchmaker fun to play?
FukushuNL replied to SR_FRIOL's topic in General Discussion
So you are just tired of the 30% wr CVs, period.
