Automatic ASW for CVs (Closed Testing)
FukushuNL replied to FatherTorque's topic in General Discussion
I can! CV problem for me is not the direct damage they do. It is the indirect dmg through spotting. The whole enemy team opening up on you through the enemy CV's spotting does way more dmg than the CV does. That is why CVs should have their spotting taken away. But instead they get more power to their camping with an automated Asw. As if not being able to fight back to CVs when they can hit you was not OP enough already. -
I'll gladly come back to the dev that decides current CVs are broken and remove/hardnerfs them.

I must honestly say i haven't been up to date with news about this game. But from time to time this game pops into my mind. But has it really been in the Supertest Blog of march 10th that it was the last time there was a mention about a sort of significant work going on making changes to (the spotting power of) CVs?
-
I am very much awake. I know that most people that play this game don't care. Why? They only play it a few game in their free hour per week and then go do other things. And after all this is all they got. And like most things in this world, nobody cares about making a difference and just roll with what there is. They are all thinking like you. "Why try to make a difference? It's not like anything will change. Yes, the situation is crap, but it is all we get anyways". That, and most people are already happy with pretty 3D ships that go pew pew, collecting as many of them as they can, no matter the cost, litteral or figuratively. Plus this is the only naval warfare game of its kind. Think that sums it up. So, having that out of the way, why can't I keep pressing WG to give a seemingly significant part of the community their game the loved most back?
-
That is BS. I made multiple polls at the start of this year. The first covered who wanted a game with or without CVs in it, in which 80ish % of the votes went to a game without CVs. Then I also made polls in which I asked if people wanted to get rid of DDs, Cruisers and/or BBs, but there the majority voted for keeping all three classes in the game. And if you look at the history of this game, you will see that there was never an outcry of removing or seriously nerfing a whole class in this game. Sure, there have been posts that one class was seen as stronger than one of the other classes, but do you see a special DD, Cruiser or BB thread on top of General? No, because non of those classes need a whole 400+ page discussion thread as by far most people are perfectly fine with these classes. Which classes do they got issues with? Seemingly CVs and Subs. So instead of making baseless mentions on what people do and don't like, maybe try to first probe the general consencus of the other forumgoers

"Statistics say all is balanced and we at WG are satisfied with the current state the CVs are in.", right?

feedback The experience of a new player
FukushuNL replied to TimSimsalabim's topic in General Discussion
THat is the thing, people telling you how to "fight/counter" CVs are people that tell you how to survive a war. How to make the best of a bad situation is one thing, but if people would stop making war, that would make everything better. -
Nah, that would be too simple and balanced. WG need at least 5 year to come up with a solution that balances out CV gameplay vs the other classes. Don't come with these reasonable solutions now.

feedback The experience of a new player
FukushuNL replied to TimSimsalabim's topic in General Discussion
Dear Tim, first, thank you for a direct and clear post. I have been playing this game even during the close beta and only this year have stopped playing this game. I can 100% relate to your experience and am in total agreement. What you love is what i love about this game, why you quit is why I had. This game is one of a kind and very high in quality So much love goes into the art of the ship, the sound, etc. all classes are fun to play with and the original trinity (DD, BB, Cruiser) are mostly even fun to play against, with only a few OP ships ever having released in the game. Like other people mentioned, the game is not pay to win as there are many powerful ships amongst the silver ships. But then indeed, there are the CV encounters as a surface ship. And there is absolutely zero effort done to make them fun and rewarding to play against, because of the points you mentioned: CVs being able to attack other ships with zero risk at all, almost unlimited airplane stock due to plane respawn, unlimited range, enormous spotting capability. Because of this, also things like the concealment stat, surprise attacks and ships that rely on flanking have no place in matches which have CVs participating in. So I quit this Januari. Sadly, multiple ideas have been discussed on these forums, but WG said they would eventually maybe try out some random solutions to bring CVs in line. Thus a half year has passed and nothing has happened. "These things take time and a lot of testing". It is a priority 1 problem, but WG doesn't care. I think about this game regularly, thinking about the great ships and the amount of fun I had playing this game. A friend of mine even installs this game from time to time to check it out again, but then the first CV match he remembered why he uninstalled and continues to do so again. All because of the same experience that makes you and others quit the game. Which is such an aweful shame for a game with this much potential. But WG just doesn't want to fix CVs for some unclear reason. Why would a company be so purposely destructive to their own game, I keep asking myself. Just one fix and so many people would come back to the game and have a good time with it again. Why won't WG nerf CVs? Make some radical changes? Show their community they are actively working on fixing THE issue with this game? Thank you agaian very much for writing down your experience and show everyone how clear the issue with this game is. -
CV FAN ONLY ( Bring back Enterprise )
FukushuNL replied to Skywalker_369's topic in General Discussion
Exactly a post a CV player would make. Taking the one brokenly OP weapon out of the whole arsenal like every 3 year old gamer and still begging for buffs. And no, it might not be OP, damage wise, but it breaks the game on almost all other points. Most difficult class? -which class spots the whole map easier? -which class can move across the map faster and easier? -which class can attack targets behind mountains? -Which class has not have to aim shots 3+ km away from any ship? -which class can attack from immunity while having his actual ship savely on the other side of the map? -which ship does not have to care about committting to a map sector because it's hull doesn't have to move and it's planes are everywhere in 20-30 seconds? -when a CV attacks any other ship, which of the two can receive damage and which of the two can't receive damage? And no, plane damage is not hull damage. All these d*mned spoiled CV players thinking they have it hard. You know what CV players are? Cowards. If they were so brave, they'd take their actual ship into battle with them. But no, they can only play a "ship" class where they park the thing that can actually get them killed if destroyed almost in another map (if they could, they would) and from that safety bother other people with respawnable drones that on top of everything can spot for them, can attack from all sides an do more than enough damage. They got "remote shells" that can drop torpedos, for Julio's sake! Does nobody understand how broken this is in a game where the rest of the ships have to get their actual hull into combat, a hull that if you go into one direction does not turn around in mere seconds, does not accelerate and surely does not stop within at least the first minute. A game where every other ship has to actually aim and hope that their target will still sail towards the spot they aimed at when their shells/torps arrive. And here these privileged by WG flying monkeys (because WG is too lazy to fix what they break) with their OP broken class with game mechanics that totally don't fit into the core of the game want their toys (can't call it ships, as they park their actual ship in a vault far away from danger if they could) that already can dobeverything surface ships can not to be even more powerfull. CVs have already taken the use of the concealment stat away, including tactics like flanking and crossfire and broken spotting and risk/reward gameplay. How much more fun do you intend to suck out of the game for those that want to play the game as intended? Just because WG implemented CVs as the broken class they are and give F all to fix them does not make them fit in thos game, let alone come anywhere close to balanced or underpowered. -
Illogical reactions to subs: the collection
FukushuNL replied to Bland_42's topic in General Discussion
I understand your hope on change only too well. I tried and tried and tried yet again to get Sera or any of the other WG people to see things our way in the hope they will tell their devs we really got logical, factual reasons why CVs and Subs are broken as they are now. But they don't seem to be as adept on getting messages through to those in charge as they are at smooth talking to us. And the rest of the devs, apart from the art team, don't seem to care about us anyways. -
Illogical reactions to subs: the collection
FukushuNL replied to Bland_42's topic in General Discussion
Stupid thread tbh. "Let's discuss the reactions of ships that have to deal with a broken class". A class that can disappearvout of reach of the attacks of most classes, can send homing torps from real stealth (not that 5.1 km concealment what we considered to be stealth before), can ping you without consequences as the ping spotting mechanic against subs is literally all over the place. And DDs you can at least corner so they get spotted. Subs can have a concealment of 0 meters. Threads like this is the same as "Let's discuss the reaction of ships that have to deal with CVs". "Why don't they just turn?" "The sucker just can't outrun the planes." "Wow, he just got devstriked!" "Lol, why didn't he try to get out of that crosstorp?" "He should just have dodged that in his BB!". All while not taking half of the broken capabilities of either Subs and CVs in consideration. Let WG first try to balance these classes before discussing what strange behaviors a man with a knife would show against another man with a bazooka. -
Which is already the way of the WG since CV rework. This is the second coming.

Are subs MORE impactful than CV's???
FukushuNL replied to SolanumTuberosumRex's topic in General Discussion
I do agree with almost everything you say, and me making a statement doesn't really matter as both classes are now both broken and when they attack you it's equally impossible to fight back, but in my opinion because CVs are wayyyy faster around the map, they can be frustrating to everyone on the map, not only in the place where they operate, like subs are. But that is my opinion. I totally agree that spotting is the single most broken thing about CVs, also because they are so fast and manouverable. In that same way, the reason why Subs are so broken now is because of the recent health buff and WG FFed up with the ping location warning of subs. End last year when subs were just glass cannons, they were not that big a thread. 3 hits from ASW and they were gone. Now they are like a Stealth BB with homing torps. They should take homing torps away, drop the health back to last year's values and fix the Sub aquisition mechanic. Then balance out torp dmg on match end result statistics and the class will need skills to be good with while they have their unique play style. I think that would be a good start. Then take away CV spotting and we finally be on a road to a decent Naval action game. -
Are subs MORE impactful than CV's???
FukushuNL replied to SolanumTuberosumRex's topic in General Discussion
CVs are exactly the same apart from CVs bring fast and their actual damagable hull is camping in the next map, while subs are slow and can be hit by lucky ASW, for how much good that might do in the current itteration as pings are random spots and Subs have massive HP. For the rest, they are the same broken op sh*tclass. Only CV's speed makes them a terror to the whole map. -
Are subs MORE impactful than CV's???
FukushuNL replied to SolanumTuberosumRex's topic in General Discussion
So you would say a sub taking half the match to get one ship spotted is more annoying than a ship that takes 30 seconds to spot you? And a ship that is for all intends and purposes immune to attacks and is not affected by mountains and other obstacles. I understand that if anywhere in the match you are the target of the current itteration of a sub that is super frustrating, but that means ship everywhere else are at least safe for the forseeable time. With a CV, when you are targeted and blown out of the water by concentrated fire, one of your teammates is getting harrassed in the next 30 seconds and the one after in 30 seconds more. But yeah, the new subs might as well be invincible as I saw that multiple runs of ASW doesn't kill it and the ping notification springs up randomly. So in that way, they are as uncatchable as a CV camping on the other side of the map. -
They have had that for a long time. Their target audience is the one that keeps playing the game after getting FFed over, and over, and over, and over, and don't learn. So, raise your hands all, who is still playing the game after WG screwed you over the last 5-6 years? And who thinks playing the game (f2p or not) will make WG question their decision?
-
Same with CVs. They are still in there on their broken form. Gl with getting subs out of the game.

try Carrier for first time get a unsportman
FukushuNL replied to Littlefat46's topic in General Discussion
Really got to appreciate the irony of CVs getting either an unsportsmanlike or idle warning. The single most broken thing after the spotting power is that they do not need to have their ship on the same map to be able to fight....well, more bully the surface ships. I mean, when talking about a fight, there have to be two people that activly combat eachother, not one ship getting pot shots on another without being able to do anything back. And being able to attack without any risk of being attacked back is very unsportmanship like, imo. My advice to OP: stop playing CVs until they balance them out vs the other classes. -
You suffered? Every time you get a hit in, the other guy suffers. Every time you don't get a hit in, nobody suffers. Or do you want to contradict that the enemy can't shoot your ship when you shoot at his/hers? What is overpowered is that you can shoot from immunity laying on the other side of the map. All these CV captains here will totally disregard the fact that if you got at least one braincell, your Carrier won't die as you will be consciously parking your ship somewhere safe while sending your planes all over the map, no matter if the ship that you are hunting tries to hide. But yeah, you worry about the ship you try to attack being able to fend off your otherwise very onesided damage dealing potential. "Omg, this ant can run away from my boot. How can I onesidedly stomp him to dead while he can't do anything back if he has the ability to avert my attack?" Also blaming a T8 to be able to stop your T6 planes. /Facepalm. Seriously, even low level CV captains start of as egocentric "I am so sad that surface ships can do something to my planes" megalomanics that have no idea of how broken their class is.

Hey, you are shoving off responsibility again towards WG for your choice of playing CVs. "We don't want guns that kill people, but we got them so we use them. It is not our fault stuff dies. They made me do it." WG makes you play CVs. Also "Spotting does not help in randoms. I fly past an enemy ship, it lights up and people shoot at it, but it is random, so that is not because of my spotting. That only rarely helps in ranked/CB. Why? Because I say so and if I say spotting is useless while lots of people in random shoot at spotted ships, everyone else is wrong.". Yeah, you don't like spotting either, right? All CV players "don't like the spotting element of CVs". But d*mn how convenient it is to use while WG keeps it in. And even more convenient as you can blame WG for it, right? "Nobody can me for keeping a slave. The government handed me the slave and says it is a good thing to use a slave. So I am using a slave. Don't blame me, I don't want the slave, but the government gives me no choice." God, I am so glad for this world that there are people out there that, unlike you, do take responsibility for their own actions and make their own choice not to do something that they are against. Mr. "I know the CV class is broken, but I am going to play them anyways. FU, blame WG for my actions.". @Fesvil No, you don't need to play the class to understand when a class is broken or not. Playing against them and a few braincells to think stuff over will net you seemingly a way clearer and more honest view about CVs than playing them and being/playing blind to the truth. The only thing I see from those that play CVs frequently are blinkers, super pink glasses and lots and lots of blaming CVs while throwing their own blame overboard while it is those that don't dare to play CVs that do so because of the myrad of sound and logical reasons why that sh*tclass is broken and at least are so thoughtful towards their fellow community members not to scr*w them over playing CVs. Hey, I never used a gun and don't know how it works. If you stand just a bit in front of me, lets see how good I know about the danger of operating a gun ;) Never drove a truck either. Bet I don't know how use it in the best way to flatten everything in sight.

Maybe it's time to stop blaming Subs and CV's on passive gameplay.
FukushuNL replied to The_Angry_Admiral's topic in General Discussion
CV and subs might not be the cause of people initially stayed back in th past, but they aren't helping the situation either. On the contrary, the situation only gets worse. After the umphteened time getting r*ped by (a combination of radars and) CVs with only the brillant power of "just dodge" on your side and no chance of retalliation, or with constant pinging and spotting while nothing can be seen, or dodged, staying in the back really becomes the best place to be with your ship. That or uninstalled. -
Even better, this game is 100% free to leave. If a video game is having you paying to have fun, don't stop paying, stop playing :D Play and you keep the servers filled. All stop playing and see how fast WG will change things. But you still play, so WG don't care.
-
I am in the same boat as you: played every day for years, still lurking the forums in hope that ..., and still got premium on my account that is slowly seeping away unused, just because WG won't fix their game. Ah, dear Blub, for a moment I thought you understood. But you are the same as the rest of them. First, playing them is not the only option. You can put up a big ol moddle finger to WG and quit the game. Easy. I did it too. "Having to gitgut at CV" is just a BS excuses to play them anyways, nothing more, nothing less. I am not going to play CVs cause I got integrity and values. I refuse to F up somebody else' gametime because I must play CVs. And CVs are not super strong, but for the literal 10000th time, that is not the issue! They are super agile, mega fast, spot everything, are mostly immune to AA and play without risk. I get super tired of CV players continuously ommitting that in a confrontation in a match between CVs and other ships, the other ships can only try not to get hit. THAT AIN'T FUN GAMEPLAY. The actual CV almost ain't even on the same map as the rest of the other ships for what little it matters. Do not compare the capabilities of CVs to those of DDs. 1 time. 1 time more, I will list the reasons why DDs don't compare to CVs when talking about breaking the game. Please, stop comparing apples to kobblestone anymore. -DDs are nowhere as fast as CVs. Even with a Kleber it takes time to get somewhere, a CV does not. -DDs have to take their ship into the combat zone, CVs do not. -for a DD to spot, they have to use their ship, CVs do not. -DDs have to aim their torps a long time in advance, taking in account many different movements of enemy ships, CVs just fly up and drop their loads seconds before hitting the enemy. -DDs have more than 60 seconds reload on their armament, CVs do not. -DDs, even though they are faster and more agile than Cruisers, usually, they don't even compare to CVs and still have to commit to their actions like capping, etc. and can't disengage easily. -even with stealth, 99% of the time you can find the general area a DD is in from retracing their torps as they are just not fast enough to circle their enemies. CV planes are that fast. -although DDs and fast cruisers can "hunt" enemy fast ships, they don't compare to how effortless a CV can tracj down a ship that tries to hide from other ships. To summerise: while DDs fast (though lots of cruisers are just as fast), they got low concealment overall and got torps, which can be nasty in combination with smoke and their concealment, they do not come ANYWHERE close to what a CV is capable of. Not even in the same world as DDs. CVs are just so gamebreakingly fast, agile and relentless, on top of having no fear of retaliation and the ability to attack from al direction and only being able to lose a couple of planes, let alone their spotting capabilities. Need something spotted? Planes will be there in 15 second. Need a crossdrop? 15 seconds. DD stealthing somewhere? 30 seconds and they will be found, no matter where they are. CV dmg is the least of everyone's worries. It is the constant spotting, the speed of how they can be everywhere within seconds, the ability to hit every ship without the fear of being countered, the risklessness of playing a CV and just park your ship on another map. And "keeping the other CV busy" is neither fun gameplay nor something you as surface ship have any say over. That is all about the enemy CV being stupid enough to keep attacking you instead of helping his/her teammates.
-
If they'd remove spotting I myself would play these things (among othe classes as I have currently uninstalled because of how CVs ruin the fame atm). True, and still I can't stop trying as I love this game too much even though these CV, Subs and Supers sickness it contracted lately which WG itself injected into the game. And I could live with the Subs from half a year ago (new subs are FFed up retarded) even Supers are doable (although some are also rediculously OP), but CVs just got everything to ruin the game. At least if WG just would stop trying to ruin their own game and deleted spotting capabilities of CVs, they would be still powerfull, but way less an irritation to play against.
