Stuff did plink, plonk, ping on my bow while I was angled towards both of them. Anyways, been bow in and immovile many times with Chap and alwyas felt quite safe.

Dunno if this still works with the current meta but I once bowtanked 2 german BBs while I got almost no damage except from vocal damage from the two BB captains in question, raging on why they couldn't kill me. I liked the ship more when it could stealthfire with 3 km buffer, but now it's still a solid ship.

ST, Naval Training Center, free Premium Consumables and improvement of the matchmaker.
FukushuNL replied to Tanatoy's topic in Development Blog
Better idea for when you want to reuse old content: prestige servers. You probably don't have size of active players for it, but ideally you'd want to set up special servers for each new level of grind. With that I mean matchmaking devides players queueing up in normal,+1, +2 and +3 queues. For example: you reached T10 in the RN cruiser line and you want to make use of the NTC reset. Now when you are going to play the +1 Black Swan you'll be matched up with other +1 players on a prestige +1 server. When you have unlocked and are playing fiji +1, matchmaking will put queue you in +1 tier matches ranging from +1 T5 to +1 T9 like now but on a +1 server. After a while, when you unlock your +1 minotaur, you unlock your +2 black swan and can do the whole grind again on a +2 server with +2 only matchmaking. Ofcourse you'd not be losing either your +0 ships nor your ability to buy any ship up to the prestige lvl you worked your way up to, provided that it falls in the prestige lvl you grinded up to in the specific class/nation combo. So it could very well be that in the end you'd have 4 different Minotaurs in your port from 4 different prestige lvls. To remedy the clutter, aditional ship caroussel options would be available. In regards to the prestige variants of premium ships, one would unlock the Tier/nation(/class?) combo of the individual premiums when one unlocked the silver version would be unlocked. So +1 Belfast would be unlocked by getting +1 Fiji and +3 Takao would be unlocked by getting +3 Mogami (or maybe just a ship with the corresponding nation/tier/pretie combo without needing the specific class, so any American +2 Tier 8 would unlock +2 Massachusetts. Conclusion: this would give WG the option to reuse older content, won't give rise to any mayor powercreep in MM between vanilla ships and prestige counterparts and will let players experience every ship in the line in their upgrade versions. The only thing is that WG got to have the amount of active players for it to keep every prestige lvl and MM bracket be able to at least get a group relatively fast. -
The biggest draw of this game on me are the incredible looking ships. Battleships are the single coolest thing in the history of man. And this game depicts what's cool about them quite well. Not acurate, but cool nonetheless. The game could do with some more tools to get a more indepth look on the ships.

WG presents a way out of that in so many ways, but only if you pay the muneyz. Premium accounts, dubloons to transfer to FXP, a plentora of whole individual premium ships, buying steel with money, buying premium crates with more currencies, more chance on free high tier ships. WG makes the grind take like a month for casual people and give them all the means to buy themselves out of that grind, cause that's what F2P games do. They give you the choice between a long grind and the way to buy yourselves to all those shiney items (ships in this case). So the fact that people skip all those ships and don't learn the skillz is because WG makes grinding them a chore and gives us every way to skip them. I mean FXPing is THE basic way to get to the ship you want to play and dubloons are made for just that purpose: to gain fxp. Pay for a premium account, earn even more fxp. Buy a premium ship, another way to up your fxp earnage. It's all WG that does this.
-
That's because WG wants to draw money out of easier gained xp and currency. And they chose for a grind based leveling system. Everybody can grind through the branches to T10. And when they use money, things go even faster. Pay money and you get more xp per battle. Pay more money and specific branches give you even more xp. Pay the sum of full priced triple A games and you can even buy top tier ships. People that play the game without spending money on it really don't progress that fast and really have to get to know their ships to progress faster i.e. they are getting skillfull. And casual gamers really getting nowhere fast. All of my casual friends haven't even got a tier 10, while most not even own a T9. It's not WG that is generous with their ingame economy. They are just so about the money that the monetize every way that makes the long grind to T10 easier, but only as long as you can pull your creditcard or wallet. It's pay to lessen the grind, not play to get better.
-
Why is the economy too forgiving? What should be changed and why?
-
Agreed. I rush too much many times too and get offed directly with a one way trip to port. Partly because I use the wrong ship for the push, whether I rush myself or get "pursuaded" by a team member to do so. So I'll never again push solo or lead a push in my Musashi. That's asking for trouble 9 times out of 10. But I will lead a push in German, French and American BBs. CL/CA's all got their positions on the map too. Some are long range spammers, some can do midrange open water combat, some can do close range knife fighting and others are island campers for life. And most of the time I keep to the job of the ship as I get easily punished for overstepping the ship's intended purpose.

I swear by the RN DDs. From T7 up it's only fun and awesomeness. Never have I felt so untouchable as in the T7+ RN DDs. Screw stealth attacks. RN DDs seem so difficult to hit that you can just fire your guns and WASD the hell out of everyone. After a while the enemy tires of missing you and your virtually home free. Great thing of RN DDs is the 360 rear gun so you can just sway from left to right and keep them quick-firing firestarters on target while being agresssive. If I gotta give a silver DD a medal for best DD, it would be Lightning. Even over mini-Mino Daring.

"...and there is unfortunately no easy answer." But there is. 1. You make Steam go with your pricing. 2. You refuse Steam using their sales mechanic on your content. 3. You go with the same sales rates for items on your own site as that business partners go with for the same items that are sold on their site. If 1 doesn't work you go with 2 and if 1 and 2 don't work, you go with 3. In the end WG's sales team can set their own sales prices to what they want to. And even if they have to work with commercial laws and rules, they should at least be able to run paralel discounts to Steam when they sell your products at discount rates. So it's a very easy answer, but your bosses just have to make sure they are treating each and every one of their customers the same. They chose to get on board with Steam because it probably made them a boatload of money (pun intended) and now they just have to fall in line with Steam's sales mechanics on their own site. Or they have to tell the devs that they need to device a way so that content bought on Steam is playable with the WG launcher. For instance by the way of codes you can insert on the WG website just like promotion codes. You buy a ship via the Steam store, you get a code that you can insert on the WG website, making the ship pop up in your port when logging in on your WG account. Afaik people using Steam are playing (in) the same game as players using the WG launcher. So WG should do everything possible to treat them the same too.

Did I just pay 30 bucks for this camo... [ NEW SOLUTION ]
FukushuNL replied to anonym_RGvUdEcxWWvD's topic in General Discussion
I'm not blaming WG for the camo or the purchase. I'm blaming the consumers for buying 30 euro camos. -

FukushuNL replied to anonym_RGvUdEcxWWvD's topic in General Discussion
I think you get what you deserve for both paying 30 quid AND believing the PR people of a commercial company that gives out skins for 30 euro on their word. Just the same as for all those people that constantly scream "take my money!" at everything that WG puts in the store. You make it all so easy for them to indeed take your money. -
Uhm, @Crysantos @MrConway ? People would really like to know why a company divides it's playerbase by price differences for the same items that are played by both differntiated parties in the exact same game. Though one must not forget WG has a history of dividing their playerbase as WG RU, WG AS, WG EU and WG US had(/have?) far different competitions, events and sales between them. Or even more stupid, having the same competition, but different rules to complete the event. And really, the world is too small these days that those differences go unnoticed and people playing the same game like to be treated fairly.

There is a Mikasa Azure lane collectable atm. C'mon WG, make her available as captain and give a little bit of love to the ship while you are at it ;)

Do you have more fun in matches with CVs or without?
FukushuNL replied to Thracen's topic in General Discussion
Wanted to say the same. -
They certainly don't, at least for the Anime captains it's not. Iona on my Musashi for instance starts the battle with something like "Submarine: dive! Huh? Hey, this isn't a submarine." if I'm a bit correct in my Japanese. While my bear form Kirishima has something competative to say to Haruna, as they are fighting together in the anime. So yeah, subtitles would be awesome. Only Hipper has a perfectly understandable line that doesn't need transllating, right when you use your main cannons: FAYAAAAA!!!!! xD

I second this proposal.

VENOM's personal appreciation thread - bonus codes added + much cool stuffz
FukushuNL replied to ___V_E_N_O_M___'s topic in Other
CHeers for the codes :D -
At first I wanted to make a Roma apreciation thread as it's so much fun to play despite not being the best BB around, but then I thought "People probably have a lot of these kind of fun gems they pick just to have a blast instead of trying to get the mvp in a match from time to time (not that fun ships can't compete)". So my question to you, what is your top 5 ship list of those that are just a blast for you to play no matter the outcome. Yes, I picked some potential powerhouses, but for the sake of the thread I didn't pick them for their capability to serverly hurt other ships in the most effective way. I purely looked at whatwhat makes me pick them over other ships when I want have a FUN match above all. If that is pure deletability for some people, it be that way. Without further ado, my list: 5. Musashi: could've put Yamato here, but I don't have that one. Reason for her being in the list: Biggest gunplatform on the seas with the biggest guns. I love how her immobility depicts these thing, but above all I love shooting those 460mm guns because of how they sound <3. You really hear you just fired WoWs's biggest guns. 4. Minotaur: when I first saw Minotaur's rpm, I instantly fell in love with her. I never REALLY had a T10 target before the RN CL line was put into the game. Thus she was my first T10, funnily followed by the miniature version , Daring, as my second T10. I can watch Minotaurs rain all day long. 3. Derzki: there are a lot of DDs in the game. Fun DDs, powerfull DDs, special DDs. But none of them will ever be a bigger blast for me than playing with Derzki. To be able to almost instantly have your torp tubes filled up after emptying ten(!) of them is beyond fun. Yes, theyvare only 4km fish, but they are quite fast and every extra km would nudge her straight into OP territory. 2. Massachusets: As a fan of secundaries imo the best secundary experience in the game. Literally as if you got two Atlantas strapped to your side. Huge range and high arcs making sure her secundaries are the first to fire and the last to stop. And she's an American BB which is still my fave kind of BB. A secundary US BB, she ticks all boxes. 1. Roma: the reason I started this thread. You know, I love pushing caps in BBs sinds the New York and really got a taste for it in the NC. But BBs all have these shortcomings that in all honesty make them a very risky ship to manouver into caps and other tight places. At those times all BB captains think by themselves "If only this ship would handle like a cruiser but with BB armor". And that's why I can't sail Roma without a big smile on my face. Everytime I jump behind the wheel of this ship, I can't believe how well she handles. Her cannons my be very tempramentful, but the rest, holy hell. She turns on a dime, her turrets are faster than some cruiser turrets, she is pretty fast and has reliable armor. Her canons keep her from being anywhere close to OP, but when I'm sailing in this ship, I can't care less. Consellation price goes to Mikasa: big [edited]tier 2 barge with crappy (but powerful) main guns and a top speed that is shaming the word "top". But she is a BB at T2 and she has loads of secundaries :D And I LOVE my secondaries. With 2 km extra range on her secundaries, she would've taken spot 3 on my list, kicking Musashi off it.

Sounds like what Oktober is doing and that's a very good ship. devastating, good aim at medium range but can't take broadside damage at all.

Traffic Lights Mod
FukushuNL replied to TeskeyAlaMountains's topic in Announcements and General Discussion (English)
This is defending a weak point. 1) As long as a sizable part of the ships has no torpedos, using torpedo aiming as a valid reason against something every ship can use is a weak comparison, a moot one even. 2) Again, you use something that can be counted on very irregularly against something that is accurate every single time. You say you don't need to fire a salvo every single time, but the one with the mod can do that and have a very good chance to hit too. Your next point is moot too, as you often spot a ship that is already bow in which makes it hard to see which way the smoke plums are going. Also nobody is watch all the ships and their movements all the time, so nobody knows what each ship is doing all the time, helped by the fact that ships drop off the radar frequently. And the mod is tracking movement of the ships for you and the computer keeping track for you all over the battlefield is factually more effective. It's more useful, period. Only degree of usefulness depends on the situation, but it's allways more usefull to use it than not to use it. Cheats are only cheats if one group of people are using them while another group can't because they get banned for it, and this mod is seemingly available for everyone, so it's technically not a cheat. But don't go on denying using the mod is way more effective than not using it and look for signs in smoke directions and torp aimng, both which are only usefull from time to time and only with certain ships, while the mod works 100% of the time. -
Not really an odd taste, is it? 4 out of 5 are much played ships.

When will radar stop working through solid rock?
FukushuNL replied to The_Stigs_wet_cousin's topic in General Discussion
Ofc there are, with the growing amount of radar ships. It's not like those are being a unicum these days, but mostly a whole team of them. But I take it you think the same way about the CV treads? As they are far less of a problem than radar ships for DD gameplay. I'm with the OP. I'm ok with everything in the game apart from the excessive amount of radar that's in the game these days. There is no counterplay to be had when you get chain radared as a DD except for running towards a island, shut down your engine, walk to the nearest newspaper stand, get back, cook some water for tea and have a nice read with some calming hot drink. After you are finished, either most ships will have their radar on cd or used them up or the game has ended. Either way, at that moment you can finally do something useful like contesting a cap or syarting a new game. -
So you have been forced to play the game for almost 8k matches :O
