Polls shouldn't influence your decisions.

Well, I agree that the OP is probably right that WG is in a position in which no changes need to be made. But that is part because of people who think "My voice is not important". There are more than enough other reasons too talking bout WG/WoWs specifically, but it is never a good thing when other people tell you to shut up "because your voice is worth nothing". Never. -

How am I belittling him? It's just foolish to tell people to stop using forums etc to let devs and fellow community people about your griefs with the game and wanting them to help change the game for the better. If you care about it, you SHOULD voice your opinion. And what do you mean ONLY a game? Like a game can't be worth your effort to try and change it for the better? Since when do you get to decide what is worth an effort and what is not? I would first look to your own ego before telling others about theirs. Always these people talking down on people which find some importance in games, while they play them themselfs. Like those people that F around ingame whining "It's only a game." while the rest tries to play well and win the game. THEN STOP PLAYING THE GAME if you don't take it seriously. Go play solo games if you think "it's only a game". If WoWS is not important to you, leave your opinions at the door then, or stop pretending games are not worth your opinions. -

Have you heard of this movie called Sonic the Hedgehog where fans of the original IP were dissatisfied with the new look of Sonic in the movie. Them all telling the developer of the movie made the developer change the appearance of Sonic in the movie to his original form, all thanks to the Sonic Community. You would have sat there in that community going "Don't waste your internet and keyboard ticks on this. You can't make a difference through telling the dev your opinions about what is wrong with this Sonic design." and we would now have been stuck with that blue monster in a crap movie that nobody would've given a second look. -

And a big part of the vocal community is not fine with what WG is doing to the game they love to play. So they are voicing their opinion and polls are a nice anonimous way to show that what a part of the forumgoers is thinking about your opinion. -

Never resist! Always surrender! Those are the wise words of the magnificent Youshanai. Every time someone want to screw you over, take it on your back and legs spread. Good advice!- 52 replies

Enjoying the game despite everything thats happened since i started playing.

I don't. I don't play coop, because I don't like the the "race to the front and see who can shoot the most before other ships arrive" gameplay. What is left is pvp, where things like CVs and Subs screw over fair gameplay so WG can sell more ships. The painful thing is that the Art team brings all these legendary ships back to life like no other can and the rest of the company is leeching of that quality work. USS Texas recently went into drydock for an overhaul and the game that made me fall in love with and get acquinted with all these ships is WoWS in the days that the Dev team still had their heart into the game. There is no other game where these ships are so involved in as WoWS and WG knows it. That is why people keep coming back or staying. There is nothing else. Though I only stalk the forums in the hope WG sees the light and severly balances CVs: otherwise known as stop CV spotting capabilities. Other than that, I am clean for more than a half year. -
This game does a lot good, but there are some core things wrong with the Developer, so it is good that you found the "exit" soon after starting to play the game. I was quite involved through the first good years. Then dollarsigns started to appear in the devs eyes and paywalls for loot started to appear as well as gamebreaking mechanics that could earn them even more money. CVs and Subs are the worst perps. Ah, well. There are a lot of games that do respect their community and their product. Have fun playing them :)

Again, a useless answer. "Random people might have said something lots of times that looked like a believeable theory. I can't/don't want to debunk your logic though, so stop continueing this discussion". It's ok. There is no use for me to continue anyways. People want to convey their socalled skills on complete randomness, they are going to do it anyways. And this is not even close to my main issue with this game. As long as someone has fun with their WR, cool.

That is nice and all if most of everyone's matches are around 50% win/lose rate, but many people are not avarage, are they? And not every day is an avarage day, is it? And all the people I play with are all influences as I am not the only human played in the match, am I? That is the thing with randomness. It can be 50/50, but many times rng is not that kind. People that think they are good [edited] about it online more than enough about their losing streaks. Not about their 50% win/lose streaks.

Meh, people that thought they were all so smart and so experienced have had their logic ruled out by superior logic all the time in the past. I am all for listening to other factual ideas, but your comments don't provide me with them, only that you are right and I am wrong. Show me some of those articles of those that have debunked this whole PR vsWR and I will be happy to check through them. And if I am wrong, I will gladly admit that, but give me something solid.

Throwing a dye in the same environment has nothing to do with chances in an environment that changes everytime and is influenced by skill of the player and skill of all their fellow players in a match. And ofcourse my examples are super sqewed and things will never be to that extend. But it gives a perfect example to explain why WR is influenced by so many more things than only your skill. PR is way less influenced by that. Also PR is a part of WR as WR is the sum of your PRs (your effort in a team) plus the efforts of all your teammates. Your WR is your effort and those of your teammates combined (and even those of your opposing teams as your WR is directly influenced by your enemy's WR and visa versa). I am not saying PR is a stat that shows everything, but at least PR is a more solid stat as it shows how you performed, while WR shows what the sum of all your random matches with 23 other random people in random situations with 23 other random doing random things panned out. It only shows that through either luck or skills from you and the actions of 11 random others (that changed every match) in your team, those combinations together with the combinations of 12 random people in the other team comes to a % above or below the 50%. With the 23 other people in all those matches (and with the randomness in what people played at the time you have come across 100's, maybe 1000s or even 10000s of people that have influenced your winrate) how can you figure out your bit of effort from your winrate? Thus WR only tells you you were part of whatever % of the winning teams of the total amount of matches you played. What part of the effort to win those matches can be contributed to you is nowhere to beseen, apart from maybe your PR. So PR is not the end all stat telling you how good you are, but it beats out WR for sure as WR only tells you you were part of the winning team or losing team, nothing more.

This post and all of your others show that you better check this out https://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/ignorant. It is sad that those that can not come up with logical retorts always have to resort to namecalling and other ways of abusement as if to take the focus off the fact that logic dictates they are wrong. It's a human error not to be able to accept when logic is in their disadvantage. Calling me a scrub because I am not as good as a significant group of people playing only this game does nothing to infer my logic is correct or not. Also my skill lvl in this game does not make my logic right or wrong. So go ahead, call me names. As long as you don't prove my logic wrong with sound facts, I don't care. Up till now you only came up with "WR is important because I and many 50%+ players said so" and "You are incorrect because your stats are worse than mine". Both arguments lacking maturity and logic.

What doe you mean "these days"? :) Just because some people were smart and geniuses which created all this modern marvel doesn't mean the overal intelligence of humanity is any higher than the medival times. People still think I, I, I. Money and power is still a priority over having a good life together. Taking is everything, giving is for the weak. The fact we all bleed red means nothing. If your fellow human has a different color skin or comes from a place on this earth that is beyond this invisible line people call a border, it's enough to hate him/her. People have never become any bit more intelligent. Everybody likes to think so, but just take one look at the internet :) Or the news from around the world. Times change, people don't.

Winrate is influenced by 24 people per match, PR mostly by yourself. Thus WR does not tell anyone how great you are in a battle. WR only tells you that the teams you were in were better or worse than the other team. I can have a PR of 1 and still have a WR of 70% if the 70% of the teams I was in just boosted my WR. Doesn't say squat about me. I can have a PR of 3000+ and a WR of 20% if I am the Superdupermega-ultimate unicum but continuously in teams that lose from the enemy. Again, WR is influenced by all members in all the matches you are in. Matches are filled with Random people of all different PR sailing ships they might be super skilled with, super crap with or anything in between, so Random skills. So WR is influenced by the random people with random PR and random ships they got random skills in. PR on the contrary is only influenced by how you tackle battles in a ship of your choice. WR is random, random, random. PR is you, you, you. What stat gives a better showing of your skills? A stat that is mainly influenced by you, you, you? Or one that is mainly inflenced by random, random, random factors?
-
This is exactly why winrate is a stupid thing to compare people with in a multiplayer groh up vs group game with random group members. PR is a way better stat to compare with, as that is way more into your own control. Why most people that are bitchin about them being awesome while they are in a losing team everytime don't seem to grasp that is a mystery to me.

Why won't you listen about or at least discuss the CV situation?
FukushuNL posted a question in Q&A Section
Why do you stubbornly refuse to make the game that most of us want to play , instead of this broken game we do get? It is so simple: set up a testserver with spotting removed for CVs. See what feedback you get. Then set up a testserver that has no CV at all. See what feedback you get from that. Why not give people that want their old game back exactly that? -
Sadly, you left out one of the main problems of the current CVs, which is a huge buff to their team already: spotting power. Your whole CV bit would be correct if CVs wouldn't have the spotting power they have now. The main problem that CVs have when it comes to the balance between CVs and the other classes, is the amount of spotting they can do in a short amount of time all over the map and from impunity. The main power from CVs is that they can spot for their team. This shows the whole of the enemy team's movement where the CV's team can base their strategy on, but above all this enables massive amounts of damage through focus fire from cover from the CV's team. And this even happens when the CV isn't trying to support their team by spotting.

I know I shouldn't. Most of the time the "whole player base" arguements are stupid, baseless and thoughtless anyways and therefor useless. It's also like what you say when discussing which part of the community cares about OP and broken shizzle in this game vs most of the pol playing this game and don't care. Hell will freeze over first before this game will become balanced and fair again.
-
Ah, yes, the "I played more, so I know better" speech. Always used to counter the "Why not use logic?" statement ;) Statement derived from facts "Logic dictates that when you call the whole playerbase crap, that includes the enemies you encounter too. So with an evenly crap team, why does your team of ever changing random ppl from that same crap playerbase lose so much in a gane session?" People's counter "I played more than you, so I know better. I am older than you, so I know better. Etc."
-
Perfectly explained.
-
So you agree that you are the problem that feeds the toxicity?
-
Well, if people would stop enabling WG by not choosing the OP, broken crap to play with, even if it makes the game therefor a bit more challenging (and fair), and won't buy everything WG puts for sale (up to their used underpants, which people wouls still buy), then this might take away the anger that is at the core of much ofthe toxicity that roams about the forums and ingame. If people choose to keep on walking over others enjoyment and emotions with no care, some moment, these people that get walked over and not cared about will explode and then this toxic situation emerges. WoWs started as a project loved by naval warfare enthousiasts from both WG and the community's side. The game was fairly balanced and events were all free to win by a lot of grinding. Still, everything was rosecolored and sweetness. Then WG saw the money and cared more about the almighty $ and dropped the community and love for the game as a brick. Now they only cater to those of the playerbase that love the flavor of the month powercreeps and those that love to play things as CV that carry 0 risk and can do everything better than normal surface ships. It's like letting people play with godmode on in a pvp game where half of the playerbase still like to play the old balanced game. If you want the toxicity to lower, stop WG from letting other people access godmode (CVs etc) and lvl the playing field. But these people won't stop playing the OP shizzle cause it is the only way they can feel good about themselves and are able to feel like they won something. Like your 3 year old that loves when you let him win. As long as people seek the easy way out instead of playing a fair game, there will be that resist this unfairness and toxicity will ensue.
-
How can the whole playerbase suck if it's one part of the playerbase randomly fighting against the other half of that same playerbase? For every loss you have, another part of the playerbase has a win. So if the playerbase is equally bad over the whole field, but you are so epic, shouldn't you win most of the games? As those on the other side are part of the same (in your view) stupid playerbase. Does this never register with people that are talking winrates and comparing the whole playerbase? Or do these people think they randomly end up with the bad part of the playerbase? So if you have a 50+% winrate, it is your skills and if they got a bad winrate it is the rest of the group that sucks.

Automatic ASW for CVs (Closed Testing)
FukushuNL replied to FatherTorque's topic in General Discussion
WG don't care about balance when it comes to CVs. Setting up CVs with limitations other classes have to work with? Hah! -Surface ships (SS from now on) have to deal with straight line shooting while taking care not to hit cover, CVs can "shoot" around obstacles and from any angle. -SS have limited range, CV have unlimited range and flighttime. -SS have to Aim, taking in account flight/travel time, distance, movement and possible change of direction of the target and deal with rng, together with a boatload of balistic statistics and obstacles, CVs can fly up to almost the hull and drop their armament, with choice out 3 different ammo. -SS have to move over the map with at best 50 knots and at worst 15 knots and how big or small you are, 99% of the time when you make a move you have to go with your decision, CVs just zoom all over the palce from map end to map end in 30 seconds. Their speed makes it peanuts to spot the whole map and to set up crossdrops/fire where needed. -AND THE WORST OF ALL: SS have to use their ship to get in range of their target to fire their weapons, while CVs can just park in the middle of nowhere and attack without risking their ships. The game is perfectly balanced :) At least subs are also super slow and have to get close an do positioning to use their attacks effectively. -
If you have been playing this game so much that you love it, then the developers break the game so hard that it becomes unfair to play it (CVs) and people take the opportunity to abuse whatever breaks the game, you start to address the people not to abuse whatever the devs break. If people then actively ignore you and continue to play the broken part to their fullest, one cannot stop starting to become toxic to these players that cost what cost want to abuse the broken part of the game to the frustration of other players that like a fair and fun game for all. If you don't want ppl to hate on CV players, take a break, think long and hard to understand how much issues CVs make for the other players that try to play the game with fun and fairplay. Then try to make WG devs see how unfair CV gameplay is and let them fix it. You'll see that ingame and forum toxicity will drop super hard.
