  1. Hi folks, I've been playing other ships where the CV torpedo planes drop from very close at 90 degrees and there's nothing you can do about it. How do you get your torpedo planes to do this? You can change the direction of the attack, but you don't appear to be able to change how close they are on drop. Thanks
  2. On the page where you'd think they'd all be, it's all zeros and "Work in progress". But I've seen others post their stats on the forums.
  3. Thanks Wow - I have a victory/battle ratio of 96%! :-)
  4. Adding subs is possible within current gameplay framework and while also preserving balance. I think it would greatly enhance the gameplay. It would expand the role of destroyers. Here's how it could work. - On the surface subs are just like any other vessel except with just a single deck gun and not much armour - Other vessels invisible to subs if sub is submerged but visible if periscope is extended, but then sub is visible within a short range - Last known position, course and speed of targets marked on map when sub submerges or retracts periscope - Subs would generally be invisible when submerged but would become visible on the map if - within the sonar range of enemy vessels equipped with Anti Submarine Warfare (ASW) capabilities (generally destroyers) (better sonar, better detect range) - detected by scout aircraft with surface radar - periscope is raised and when close - submerged time limited and scaled according to average game duration (maybe 5 minutes) - Destroyers would get optimum area to drop depth charges when subs detected by sonar similar to torpedoes. The optimum area gets smaller the longer the sub is in sonar range and the closer to the sub the destroyer is and the slower the sub is moving.
  5. The fleet submarine! The Japanese and Americans initially used subs this way. It wasn't the most effective use of them though
  6. But not every ship would have sonar or ASW capabilities... and there would only be 1 or 2 destroyers, max - but against other ships it's stealth would compensate.
  7. For simplicity diving can just mean disappears off map - the diving mechanism could be depth ignorant - a sub is either surfaced or submerged. There is no doubting that subs would need to be adapted a simplified to work in the game - just like all other ships.
