    WoT vs WoWs grind

I find this to be very situational. Depending on the vehicle / ship you are in and its capability to fight off the EBR or CV combined with the map in the case of WOT. Some games with multiple EBR's and three SPG's can turn into one big toxic fest of frustration. But luckily those do not happen that often in my experience although they do seem more frequent at tier X.

    WoT vs WoWs grind

Its an interesting comparison. I still play both games pretty much every week for a few games at least. As mentioned here before, WOT is certainly more grindy, but also has more depth to its gameplay then WOWS. WOWS I really like for the slow relaxed paced action. And WOT is really good if you want to get some action in where you actually have to focus. There's a lot to get into if you really want to understand whats going on in terms of camouflage mechanics, how and where to actually damage your opponents, map knowledge, crews skills and more. Its takes quite long to get to grips with all this and this also directly influences your xp and credit gain as your performance will slowly improve over time. The XP grind in WOT has actually been made a lot easier these days though, if you have premium you can boost victories 5 times a day for a 3X boost. The real grind is in the credits gain, you really need to get some premium tanks for that, preferably at tier VIII as those make the quickest buck. Premium does give you a bonus here as well though as you get a weekly payout based on how many credits you have earned in the week before. The E-75 is still a great tank and I have to agree, great looking as well. And recently buffed, so a great time to get into it. Speaking of grinds though, one thing about WOT is that a lot of modules are shared between the different lines for a nation, so the first line you go into is the hardest as you won't have any shared modules. And the Tiger is one of the worst grinds in my memory of playing WOT for a long time. But then, it also was one of my first, so that could have a big impact too. In the end for me both games are still great and very enjoyable (apart from the occasional frustration, but this stems mostly from our own physiological state I think, knowing when to take breaks is key ). They offer a very different experience from eachother.

    0.9.8 - Ranked Battles

WG, can you please do something to make the league flags more usable? Having to mount them on every ship you own and then having to correct the flag you normally use when they get removed (which I have stopped bothering with) gets really tiresome once you have almost every ship in the game. 1st world problems, I know. ;) but still, I feel like you could remove some frustration by making this into a passive buff you dont have to mount and just get for the duration of ranked?

0.9.8 - World of Warships Anniversary

Yes, we are very grateful for being able to enjoy the balance of tier IV carriers for this campaign. Since tier IV ships have such amazing AA, its a pleasure to see all their planes go down in a blaze of glory... oh wait. The new player experience in this game must be absolutely horrendous. I want to sell all my low tier ships after just a few games already... And yeah, I know I dont have to play it. But since this event is running I thought I'd check it out... WG, you really need to actually play some low tiers yourself.. :) Have fun

    0.9.8 - Armory

Terrible change if you ask me. before it was just one click you couldn't miss. Now you have to actually remember yourself about this every time you log in and go through several clicks... Makes no sense to me. the dockyard has a blinking notification for us to spend dabloons, but a free drop cannot be more easily reminded off? Weird
  6. A bit of a loaded question isnt it? :) Change is always something you need to get used to at first eh? But considering the benefit of having all modules and upgrades in one view I like it.
  7. Its not unrealistic and IMO its important to have discussions like this to make this better known. The fact that everything meaningful is calculated serverside is pretty obvious. It worked like this in WOT since forever, so WOWS is no different. If this were not so cheating would be a lot more rampant and obvious. You don't need a programming degree to work this out. Some understanding of the principle of having a client and a server and logical thinking about the matter is all you need. Wargaming also would not have become as big a they are if their games were that easy to hack as the amount of cheating would have been off the charts. So sure, there will be some visual aid/aiming mods that are illegal, but they come nowhere near the advantage you will have when you actually git gut.
  8. As mentioned, all the important decisions the game makes (RNG, registering hits, info on what you can see) is all determined on the server. So cheating if it does happen is very limited in actual influence on how the games go. Its far more dependent on the playskills that GraySlayer mentioned and after that the RNG of what your salvo's actually accomplish. Accusations of cheating is merely frustration by those that do not understand the game or would like to blame the failures on anyone but themselves.

    Eventful Retrospection

I kinda like the directives as an in game goal. And getting some free stuff is nice. But all the token nonesense doesn't do anything for me. I especially do not get their early access scheme in terms of making money of it? Why would I spend actual money to get something I can just get for free a month later? If I even care to get those new ships as well. :) And spending money means you even have to deal with lootboxes. Wtf WG. Considering that they keep doing these events, I guess people are actually buying into this crap? Thats just the weirdest thing to me.
  10. Nope, finished all directives, no 300 drop. Not like I expected one. I really hate how WG do these events. I know we don't have to play. But in terms of motivating people this is piss poor. Why should there be such an enormous difference between the possible drops? Seeing nothing but strings of 5, which you even know you must expect, is just straight up sadness. Ah well, at least I got another tier V shitter :D Which I can now also confirm is crap as Ive had to play it a whole bunch in order to get a few more useless tokens so that I could earn myself a tier VIII camo I don't need.
  11. Its not trivial though. I agree with OP and came looking here for this kind of topic. You want icons to be useful in the port indicating there is something new there for you. Abusing this useful UI system to keep bugging us about a stupidly overpriced tier X I have no interest in is something worth mentioning. If it would go away after looking there one time to see nothing new has happened fine, but it doesnt.

Thanks for this great gaming experience...again

It still is disgusting though. Unbelievable how WG just let this situation continue. But it has been mentioned before and the same is happening in WOT. They just don't give a crap. That much is very clear from how little they do about something like this.

    Developer Bulletin 0.9.0

The only valid option here is to leave the missions as they are and provide the RB option as an alternative. Removing these missions regardless of their progress is not acceptable.

How to react to the PR thing

Or just play the game as normal and ignore the event? Get some free stuff from the snowflakes.. its all good. Pity the event turned out bad, but whatever, we don't need it in our lives.

A sad story of the designers at WG

Indeed, the whole shipbuilding concept and execution on the visual level is amazing. props to WG for that. A missed opportunity to let everyone enjoy this. It would be amazing as part of a new campaign where you can earn a nice ship over time.

Thank you WG for Christmas events

The only nice thing about the event is the presentation. Which makes it even harder to comprehend the grind they ask people to go through, especially when they have paid money for the boosters. Why have all this nicely done visual stuff about buidling a ship and then come out and say: "Oh sorry guys, its only for 0.001% of the community". If you're not a part of that I guess you are asked to be quiet and enjoy the free stuff. EDIT: spelling

    Gorizia - The 'Moderate' Grind

Aye, WG are trying to keep us playing all the time, but its great to mix it up and play some other titles as well. A more balanced and healthy gaming diet will also increase fun in WG's titles. They should push us to play less. I.e. directives that require us to not log in for a day

Lol, well that makes the choice between the WOWS or WOT event really easy for the holidays.

    ST - Matchmaker changes

It's really tragic how poor the player experience is for new players and how little WG seems to care for it. You leave this imbalanced situation in the game and scare away loads of potential new players that get slaughtered by experienced players enjoying their easy mode. In WOT the exact same is happening for years already. And guess what, WG even sell these sealclubbing machines to their players for lots of money... It really makes you wonder...

    And I Sigh

Yeah it happens. But in those situations it usually helps me to focus on performance and not on the actual winning. Although it does get frustrating when it takes a while before actually getting a win. Then I just take a break and try again later. WG tries to push us into overplaying the game, don't fall for that trap and just play when you actually feel like it. It also helps your in game performance.

Italian Cruisers - One Month On (and a bit)

I kinda like the line so far, I've just arrived at the Amalfi and played a few games with it. As mentioned the tier V and VI seem kinda weak, although the Trento did start to grow on me a little bit just as I was finishing the grind. It seems to me that SAP is almost always the go to ammo though, unless you can guarantee citadels the SAP simply does more damage consistently on broadsides anyways. But I may need to experiment more with AP. I like the smoke, although it takes a little bit of thinking to use it properly. I've been trying to hide in it plenty of times while still firing the guns and not taking the concealement range in smoke into account
