I first noticed something is wrong with the distances ingame when i looked at the mission debriefing and saw that i traveled over 70km in a 18min game....wtf!?
that would make an average speed of over 230km/h.
To verify that i pointed my crosshair at a point 5km away and reached that point with my 30kts (55 km/h) in just under a minute which would result in a speed of over 300km/h.
But the speeds ingame are not labled too low its the distances, so when you think you are shooting at 20km with your fancy battleship its really only about 3,3km^^
and the reason the shells take so long to reach these discances is they scaled down the shell velocities at about the same rate.
so much for a semirealistic naval warfare game.......
I understand that this is all done on purpose to make the game easy to play and allow people to hit something without a targeting computer, but this big of a discrepancy between game and real values feels to me like wargaming thinks their playerbase is stupid and wont notice (or care) anyway.
long live the simplicity of arcade gaming......
