Which ship you never see in game? how make them more popular?

Funny you should say that, the clannie in question snipes people's citadel a minute into the match in his Champagne :D

Perhaps. Although I had a clannie tell me the guns behave very nicely.

Funny you say that, I've seen three of them in the last week, all three times they came pretty close to the top.

    T8 cruiser heal

Hello there I don't post often these days, but when I do, I have a good reason. Today that reason is to whine suggest, or rather reiterate a suggestion that has been floating around for some time, namely universal T8 cruiser heal. Now why would I suggest such a thing? Simple. I spent my day in the Wichita, with appalling results. Now, most of that I'm chalking up to me being sick and getting radar-to-the-brain (where you mindlessly try to approach smokes to radar them and get obliterated for your trouble, a problem I alleviated by not taking radar), but then I got this match and I started laughing maniacally in frustration, anger, displeasure and all the suicidal thoughts that told me to punch myself in the temple repeatedly until I manage to inflict enough internal damage to pass out or die. Now this is fairly typical "eat-sh1t-and-die-T8" matchmaking, but I'd like to point out one thing: every single unit on the enemy team, yes, every. single. one. has a heal. Myself and our DD don't. And this is where I made a very interesting observation, which made me laugh even more: I have personally beaten the Atago down to less than 10k HP, after which he managed to disengage. Can you guess what happened the next I saw him? Yu guessed it, he reappeared with 15k HP and happily plunked HE away at my team's (not very competent) BB's. I ended that match with something like 45k damage (pretty poor, I know, but not the point) and I had to spend most of the match ducking and weaving just to not get shot to sh1t by the at least 2 enemy units targeting me. Another example where I couldn't help but laugh in my complete helplessness was when a JB reloadboosted me as I was trying to disengage and while his first salvo missed, his second didn'T and his third was in the air just about the time I was fading off his view, still hitting and sinking me. I mean yeah, don't get hit, but you know how hard it is to evade an 8-gun french 15" salvo at 13 km every 10 seconds? Not very. If I had had a heal, I could have survived it and maybe not end the match with a damage number so low I won't even bother saying it. I'm not asking for RNCL levels of zombie heals, I'm asking for something more along the lines of Atago's heal, which is perfectly adequate to support a reasonably well armoured and maneuverable cruiser. Presently every T8 cruiser that presses battle and doesn'T have a heal is at serious risk of being shut out of the game they play for simply being nothing more than unlucky. I'm not trying to make excuses, I have been playing like garbage (so if you wanna come at me with gid gud comments, don't worry, I know I suck, my point still stands). I think that after the DD vs CV situation is resolved, the class that will need a bit of reworking is cruisers, T8 ones at that in particular. They right now get the sh1t end of the stick: they are often used as filler in TX matches (even though there seem to be more than enough TX ships queued but whatever), and are so mostly helpless in anything other than second or even third line support roles. Sure, you might have radar, but if you go forward to use it and you don't tuck yourself behind a prohibitiveisland, you get blown right out of the water. EDIT: Before someone points it out: Yes, I realise the carriers in that picture don't get heals either, but again, that would be beside the point. EDIT2: derp, wanted to add poll

Ark Royal and Bearn: Why bother with the Bearn?

I suck at CV's, like really badly. I got Béarn because it's a french ship and a historical one at that. I play a lot of T6 ops, and she definitely is fun, if not particularly strong. I enjoy skip bombing, and as s/one else mentioned the AP bombs have insanely high pen (if you drop from anything than the highest of altitudes, you'll overpen the bejesus out of even the Fuso that spawns in Raptor Rescue), but it's no hammer of the gods. The skip bombs do reliably light fires though, so if you can stick the DoT on people, you'll do fine.
  9. I only beached like twice? I think? And only after the Slava beat the crap out of me, so you can't prove anything! Nice seeing you guys :)

A couple... But they never caused issues before. I'll go through them I guess...
  12. Met @Yedwy today while grinding Tashkent with @lup3s today. O7
  13. I just had a thought: Two TX ships are going, two new are coming. Khaba has a range/reload Unique Upgrade that just makes it even more gunboaty, while GK has a straight reload upgrade that also makes the secondaries better. What are your thoughts/hopes for potential new UU's for the new ships. Moskva kept her own UU, so I don't see a reason for these ships' UU disappearing. Thoughts?

First game in the Tashkent (after a long slog in Kiev) Stacked quite a few flags and extra bonii.

subs literally extract the fun out of the game

So I was knocking down bonuses in coop. Got front aspect pinged and I couldn't outturn the torps. Yeah, chief that's not good game design there.
  16. It was my pleasure after so long!

subs literally extract the fun out of the game

They said they wouldn't introduce subs that are like "modern nuclear subs firing ADCAPs". So now we have subs that are like "modern nuclear subs firing ADCAPs".
  18. There's a reason why their most famous and longest serving ship is a submarine rescue ship that's mire than 100 years old...
  19. With all due respect to the EU team, on a Company level, that's like the pot calling the kettle black. It's been months that the community was effectively insulted by the devs, being told we don't know what we're talking about and that we're just a vocal minority and as such, our opinion doesn't matter. The main problems I still see with submarines are a couple of things: Torpedo homing. This is the big one for me. More specifically, the ping and counterping mechanic is badly designed. The recharge time of a ping is 10 seconds (IIRC), while the quickest DCP reload, if I'm not mistaken, is around 35 seconds (Not counting soviet BB's). This presents us with a very obvious problem: You cannot defend against pings. You simply just cannot. The torpedo ranges involved make it near impossible to defend against actively homing torpedoes at one point or another, especially if damage that needs to be repaired is involved, such as rudder or engines. This effectively overloads the DCP consumable, where one already has to make a cost/benefit analysis before using said consumable, calculating wether it is likely/possible that critical damage is going to follow immediately after using the consumable. If it is also used to delete homing pings, this analysis gets very badly reduced, as the consumable is suddenly required to prevent critical damage, instead of controling it. And since it is going to be on cooldown for at least the next 35-40 seconds, the ship can be retargeted and hit regardless. Which leads us neatly to another point: Torpedo bonii. Torps that follow pings partially or completely bypass torpedo protection measures, making them insanely powerful. This would be fine if making a torpedo lock was difficult or breaking torpedo lock was easy. This is presently not the case. If one manages to break torpedo lock, they probably have their DCP on cooldown, which means that the next torp lock is going to set at least one flood and do a truckload of damage, and with DCP on cooldown, the sub gets a cake, gets to eat it and keep it. Submarines can hide away from ranged damage. Sure, dive time isn't unlimited (thankfully), but a submarine can dive to avoid being shot at if they manage to get out of position. In order to depth charge them, a DD or CA/CL needs to drive over them and drop depth charges on top of them (assuming ASW mortars, lightweight ASW torpedolaunchers or ASW torpedo carrying missile launchers aren't introduced), which in most cases means going far out of position, into the sight of the enemy team getting shot at. And who wants to do that. Overall, I think submarines are going to be horrible for overall game health. Teams are going to be pushed backward, with neither team really wanting to push into the middle zones where they can get spotted, pinged and destroyed by submarines with relative ease, so the entire game will just devolve into a grindmatch worse than conservative TX games already are. I wouldn't be surprised if there were suddenly a lot more games that end because the timer runs down and whichever team with more points win rather than having wipeouts or one team running up their points or running the enemy's points down. In other words, much more 20 minute games, which wouldn't exactly serve the company well...
  20. So... Basically modern combat?

  22. I don'T usually post anymore on here, but today I'll make an exception. @Crysantos, @MrConway, @YabbaCoe, I met two of you personally and all three of you are nice people who I kind of like. None of the following is directed at any of you. Okay, so. WHAT THE F..K Any time I come to read the forums, anywhere I look, all I ever see is generally contempt for submarines. A very small number of people seem to even enjoy them at all, and noone seems to be very satisfied with them whenever they interact with them either as friends or foes. And then we are told that they are getting into randoms anyway. We are further told that there is a target popularity to them that they are "expected" to achive. Which all makes me believe that noone actually gives a crap wether the community wants anything anymore, the decision is coming from top-down and since some stubborn [edited] who thinks they are a marketable or good idea decided that it must be so, they will be pushed in. I'm sure that when this is pointed out to the devs or whoever, we're gonna get a "but the spreadsheet..." reply, but here's a point for you: The spreadsheet ain't worth jack crap (it is, just not the way you think). I understand that the active community of the game is far too small to take in relevant feedback, as the dull mass of the playerbase doesn't know of or doesn't care about the forums, reddit, the devblog or what have you, and so as their understanding and skill at the game remains mediocre, they are also the demographic who the game needs to be marketed towards and as such balanced around. However. Those players out there at large should not be the people the game is balanced around. I'll tell you why: They don't know better. They also don't really care, they don't much care to learn, they don't care about winrate, they want to shoot stuff and that's the end of it. The people (well, most of them) who are here, or on reddit, or in the streams, or on any other platform, screaming about issues concerning balance, fairness, classes and what have you, they are the ones who should be listened to. They understand the game. They know what they are talking about. Sure, there's gonna be the occasional troll or idiot, but when 98 people out of a hundred is telling you that something is broken, maybe you should listen to them, because all of those 100 people are interested and invested in the game enough to come to a platform to voice their opinion, and sometimes, voice factual statements that may not show up in stat sheets because for every player who can properly play a Kamikaze, there's about 5 who want to pick a gunfight with an Atlanta. What I'm getting at is that yeah, you should take feedback on board, not just say you will. If you happen to have piles of written feedback saying that subs are awesome and should absolutely be put into randoms (such feedback, if signed by a senior executive or the head of Lesta does not count as "piles"), by all means, point us to it, but don't say "we listen to feedback" and then go pull crap like this (by which I mean put in a class that almost literally noone seriously wants) It's not often that I get knots in my stomach when hearing gaming news, but when I read this one, I literally almost threw up in disgust. People who can formulate an opinion much more eloquently than myself have been screaming that subs are a gimmick that have no place in general gamemodes, most of the community has been saying they don't belong, and here we are. Ridiculous.

CHEATERS, come on it's just a game!

May I interest you in some File GreaseTM? Or some new Diesel SparkTM brand sparkplugs, specially developed for Diesel engines. Or if these haven't caught your eye, how about some BlinkONTM blinker fluid? I do wonder what your opinion would have been about pre-0.6.3 gameplay... EDIT: If none of the above products seem right to you, you may have to file an ID-10-T form with costumer service.
