As a Mog player, I found NO to be much more tanky when I have to engage one. Unless they show me their boradsides or their rear, it's hard to inflict good damage on NO's with IJN 8" AP. Bow on it just bounces or does minimum damage. The NO has no such problem against an angled Mogami (or so it seems to me)

In light of the discovery that Indianapolis is going to have 13.4km detection I've gone ahead and reduced Pensacola's detection to 13.2km.

I wanted those god-damned flags, but I don't get to play at all these days.

For a T6 Pensacola preliminary the easiest choice would be either a 2F1A or a 2F2A design, although a 2F2A design may be a wee bit too strong. The interesting choice would be one of these rather awkward designs. But we're getting sidetracked. We are trying to balance Pepsi for T7 here, so keep that in mind
-
Is there a Pensacola preliminary with even more awkward gun layout?
-
Absolutely not. On T6 she would tear through everything she meets like a wrecking ball through a school bus: quickly, bloodily, and without breaking a sweat. She can handle T8 ships very well if not singled out, imagine if you never met T9's in a ship that could be the best T7 cruiser.

I *may* look into it when I get NO, but it's not very high up on my to-do list right now.

MediaUSS Indianapolis - American T7 Premium Cruiser Commentary
piritskenyer replied to Pupu_prpr's topic in Cruisers
Flamu is the agressive play business, so the turret layout there suits him better. It's a matter of taste really. On cruisers after a certain tier, IFA is a must. It saves people from taking a lot of damage very quickly.- 37 replies

Talking about the second picture there. The first one is indeed featuring Indianapolis, but the main thing is Pensacola with all her modifications circled in white.

MediaUSS Indianapolis - American T7 Premium Cruiser Commentary
piritskenyer replied to Pupu_prpr's topic in Cruisers
Supposing the guns are indeed the same Mk14's as found on Pepsi, the arcs will be the same... at 15.7km, which is Pensa's max range. Indy shoots out to a maximum of 16.9km, so it'd only make sense that her arcs would be higher at max range even with the same v0- 37 replies

The 1943 layout is the same that SLC had, but SLC did not recieve the 1945 refit. We established with Trainspite that SLC could fit in the 1943 (so current B hull) configuration as a T7 premium ship, with stats tweaked of course. That would lead to the (theoretically desireable) situation where the premium version of a ship is slightly inferior to the regular version.

Kuma has the advantage against the Svietlana, hands down. Why? She has better speed, better RoF (6* 10/min vs 9* 6.6/min with BFT), better torps, better handling, better range (when the Svietlana doesn't get AFT). Where the Svietlana has a slight edge is in the sheer number of guns to the broadside, which makes it somewhat handier when coming to saturate a DD's maneuver zone with shells. You should try the Furious Taco again, she got substantially buffed in one of the patches. RoF and turret traverse were buffed on the top guns. She is bound to recieve her historical refit config with the 3 twin turrets next patch. Aoba... In my opinion a much better all-rounder than her peers at T6, and overall the best T6 CA Myoko... I found her okay, but certainly not as good as her ratings suggest. If you can get it to work, it's a great ship, but she has the same problem the Furry had, namely crappy turret traverse. RoF is nice though.

No. You don't get mny meaning at all. What I meant is that there are trends that gho around from the dawn of repeatng firearms of which the first major confrontation was the first world war. It all started with Saving Private Ryan, which spawned MOHAA, then along came Band of Brothers, which spawned CoD 1. Then along came CoD 2 which was a groundbreaker in graphics, then along came CoD4 which was a gropundbreaker in concept. but going too far forward when people get bored of it is in and of itself detrimental to a franchise. -

The thing with the thingy is that people are getting sick and tired of the futuristic stuff CoD puts up, and BF has had the right ear and put up a WWI themed game when a lot of people were stirring about wanting a WWI or II throwback in gaming. It's a question of trends, and BF seems to have bet on the winning horse while CoD did not. Also the main difference between mods and an actualy WWI themed game is that this time it's a properly rendered and made WWI game, with fully fledged graphics (if your PC can handle it that is), and "realism". No-grav futuristic quickscope-shooting is getting a bit dull for most people. -
only time where I got less than 50k damage was when I found myself on the wrong end of a torpwall after 19k damage done in 2.5 minutes...

Yeah, I remember that match. It was straight up awful, as the first thing I did was run into a wall of torps. Sold the Nagato in rage shortly thereafter. BB gameplay is really not for me I think. And yes, I do hope we meet again, hoipefully in a scenario where I don't suck epically
