She had a hastily converted 4" magazine forward of X magazine (converted frm a small arms locker, so not really well armoured) which is where the shell exploded. The 4" ammunition exploded, which collapsed the bulkhead between the magazines and inited the 15" propellant. Also, it wasn'T a plunging hit. The shell had 11.6° angle of descent at the given range, no phisical way it could penetrate the overall decks. The deck edge in question was downcurving and 2" thick, below the main armoured deck. The shell came in through the side, above the main belt.

That was WW1, not WW2.

I mist remember this thread for when I get home so I can get rid of the firealarm sound. Also, modders, man your stations, people are gonna love you for it.

Time for German T10 BB with 48cm Guns :)
piritskenyer replied to Sunleader's topic in General Discussion
IJN 46cm/45: tested and deployed RN 18"/45: designed and tested USN 18"/48: designed and tested. ...KM 48cm: sketched onto a napkin after some guy on hitler-chocolate (meth) ejaculated a "battleship" onto a napkin. So [edited]legit it should be included. -
So this patch introduced something that is more of an annoyance than a benefit: a fire alarm horn. I'm not talking about the "oh-my-god-all-my-nodes-are-on-fire" type fire alarm, I'm talking a firealarm that is blaring every 4 (?) seconds when there is a fire. Anywhere, in any number on the ship. Let me tell you something dear developer in charge of sound: it's annoying. Very much so. It is distracting because it used to only be so that you had a horn when you were on fire on all nodes. Now this one is louder, meaner and more useless. And you cannot turn it off. Which brings me to my main point: Please provide the option to turn off alarm sounds or just some sounds in general. I'm not talking about volume setting, I'm talking disable. Yeet over the side. Dropkick out the window. I don't want to have a horn for a single fire, I don'T want one for all of my nodes. I don't want one for flooding, I dn't want one for anything. But I can't turn those off and they are providing me with one thing: not information, annoyance. I'm not going toforget I'm on fire, the view is tinted orange. I'm not going to forget I'm flooding, the bottom of the screen is tinted greyish blue. So please. With sugar on top. Let me disable at least some of the sensory overload.

I feel your pain. 142k damage in Saint Louis? Nope. 4 kills? Nope. Can I just sell back all of my assets and pretend I never played this game?

Can ship be cursed? I think I got one.
piritskenyer replied to Puffin_'s topic in General Discussion
Ships that for some reason perform below expectation with no apparent or logical reason? For sure. Old Cleveland was a nightmare for me, and my T9 cruisers are cursed. -
Premium Ships - should Coal/Steel ships be immune from specific Nerfs like bought Premium Ships are?

Is the resource you buy the ship with earnable? Yeah? Then nah. -

No regrets, getting fed up with the naysaying cynicism. -

I cannot describe the feeling in my lower areas right now. Time to propose HMAS Australia as a T7 prem now I s'pose -

Post treaty collapse actually. The proposal is dated 39/40, when all bets were off. -
Mouse that COULD automatically double-click legal?
piritskenyer replied to MarcoGn97's topic in General Discussion
My previous mouse had a double click button on it, it wasn't providing any advantage whatsoever, but it did satisfy my mild OCD in that full salvoes departed as one, instead of the first turret shortly followed by the other turrets at the same time. Since then I have a new mouse and I'm back to simple double clicking. -
Operations excluded from Directives...again !
piritskenyer replied to SEN_SEN_Channel_Portugue's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, tgey told me to [edited]off, they were too busy with the queue to care about being dead. Seriously apart from dead o'clock I never had a prpblem getting an ops game, even on [edited]newpprt which is a load of crap and should die in a [edited]fire -

piritskenyer replied to SEN_SEN_Channel_Portugue's topic in General Discussion
Yeah, the complaint is legit, saying they are dead is far from the truth though. There could be new ops too and newport should go where it belongs (the [edited]trash), but ops not ded. -

Ops are dead? Do ops know about that? -
Well, we could also just tell them, you know, to sod off. The battle off Samar demonstrated pretty clearly that BB (and CA for that matter) AP does exactly jack and sh1t to a DD because it just goes straight through. The AP fired by the japanese simply did not arm, and punched calibre-sized holes with no further damage into the upperworks of the ships. When the Japanese realised they were facing DD's and DE's and switched to HE, carnage ensued. So no, firing AP at DD's is not historically a good idea as such.

Oh look, a babby crying about being outplayed.

Hey guys, I have a thing that irks me greatly. Namely being T9 cruiser gameplay in general and my gameplay in tgem in particular. Here's the issue: T9 in any cruiser line for me is a stinker. It seems like no matter what I do I cannot get a win to save my life and I cannit figure out just what I'm doing wrong. Feel free to look at my stats (I would make screenshots, but I'm typing on the phone), you'll see that in any other tier I do decently, but on T9 my WR is in the red. I cannot figure out why. Is the ships? Am I doing something wrong? I had more than one heartbreakers in T9 cruisers (my overall damage record in a losing game in Ibuki and recently a game in Saint Louis in which I pushed and killed two TX's and killed two other T9's), but it seems that no matter how I do I cannot get a win. Even in the more utilitarian cruisers like Old Baltimore and Buffalo I can't (couldn't) win, even when obliterating literally all the DD's the enemy team had. Halp.

No. The gane files in april did not contain proper submarine models, only the comedy ones for the event. Plenty of maps have dynamic NP models like flights of plane, moving ground-based elements (trucks, etc), maybe for the april event there could be periscopes randomly spawned into matches with no submarine attached. Or it could have been an artifact of your PC having a conflict with the game. Or it could have been a fignent of your imagination. Whichever it was, you taking evasive action was beyond stupid, as a ship class that wasn't officially introduced couldn't have been in that battle and influence its outcome. Whatever isn't in the teamlist isn't. Sssshhhhhh!

Above T7 I always freexp the modules :| I might revisit the tier with fully dedicated captains and divisions to see if it improves at all. If you look at Old B-more, I'm aboce 50 games though (iirc?) which should provide a large ebough statistical sample Doesn't seem to change much. Divisioned or not, the outcome doesn't seem to be affected. Maybe I have to pick better divisionmates (Transfer made, you should receive the funds in a couple of hours. I expect a sharp increase in WR though!)

Forgot to take screenshots, but here https://replayswows.com/replay/63140 I just can't pull a win out of my T9 cruisers.

Bad economy , bad calculations ? You be the judge.
piritskenyer replied to LemonidasM's topic in General Discussion
Untrue. Damage percent affects your creds and xp. Example: Say you do 20k damage in T8 and you die. If you do 20k damage to a T8 BB, that's ~25-30% of their total HP pool. You don'T get much out of it. You do 20k damage to a T8 destroyer, that is close to or above 100% of their HP pool. That is worth a lot more creds and xp than the same amount of damage to the same tier BB or CA/CL. You can farm yourself sick with tiny amounts of damage on the entirety of the enemy team and your creds and xp will still be somewhat low, obliterate someone from full HP, you'll get rewarded. -

My point entirely. This guy can'T hold it.
