Algérie, Henri IV and Duca d'Aosta preliminary stats
piritskenyer replied to Darth_Glorious's topic in Cruisers
Yeah, except there wasn't, it was debunked that Algerie always had the standard /50 guns. 138, but wtv. -
Welcome to the insane club. I did a similar thing on my ARL back in the day, although I "only" have 1.15k battles in that
-
What they also are: unwieldy slow lacking any form of meaningful AA unarmoured Monitors were not designed for naval combat, they were designed to carry heavy ordnance with low draught to the coastline and bombard shore targets.
-
I would post all sorts of derogatory comments, but I don't want to get kicked from ST and get a load of WP's for it.
-
Heh, true. To be honest I think multiple people have tried to pitch seaplane tenders as "early" CV's for tiers 2-3. That could be interesting
-
CV's wpould be one of the last lines to be introduced once all the other baselines are in the game, as they start off at T4, while DD's start off at T2 and BB's at T3.

Hawkins is T5. Probably not a very good T5, but with all the stuff tacked onto it it can be made to work. York-class is the ideal T6 candidate with 3x2x 8"/50, progression to T7 to the Counties there is pretty natural. The real problem is what comes after those, but we have those covered as well. PS: I think it's "roll with the times", not "role with the times" *suppresses inner grammar nazi* From what I can gather, the 7.5" guns are prettttty teribru in terms of energy retention. They lose energy at a rapid rate and at 13km they are already past the 30° mark with regards to angle of fall. Expect a gun that can indeed tear through enemy ships at close range, but is pretty ineffective at anything over 8km...

Trainspite and myself have a full tree proposal brewing at this time, with quite some sources and time put in. Advise everyone hold fast and sharpen knives to take that one apart when it comes.
-
Bow is perfectly correct.

This is going to also depend a lot on maneuverability, as you can mitigate the bad turret angles with that. I mean look at what we are usually doing in a Pepsi (if we have her as an example): we don't just sail around at minimum 10-gun angle, but rather swing back and forth to expose guns and then to hide them. If the Ships will have bad maneuverability, then yeah, it's a problem, if they blessed with good maneuverability, this issue is halved.

*incomprehensible squeeling*

If I don't get an answer to it, I'm going to file it under "whining for the sake of whining".
-
Having this as well, I need some help!

Scharnhorst/Gneisenau (okay, they are different, but they are the same class), Wyoming/Arkansas, New York/Texas, Omaha/Murmansk/Marblehead, Iowa/Missouri, [old] Minekaz/Fujin/Kamikaze series, [new] Fubuki/Shinonome, Fletcher/Black, Atlanta/Flint, Benson/Lo Yang, Gnevny/Gremlin, Bogger/Oleg, Dresden/Emden, Leander/Perth. Didn't mention all the ships that sister ships on different tiers, or that are just reskins (Kongos, Myokos, Takao)... Must I point out that Hood has been found in the files as a premium already? Well, that is mostly wishful thinking, but we are all keeping our fingers crossed.
-
Yeah, but no word of the Admiral class as a whole yet. I'd imagine them putting Hood up in the condition she sank and then they realise a full Admiral with the planned 1942-44 refit.
-
Shhhhh, T7 is for Hood Admiral-class
-
If 3x 2x 15" with speed and good rld cuts it on T7, then 3x 2x 15" with regular rld, weaker armour, speed and ungodly AA *should* cut it in T6.
-
Let's not bring up Beatty, as a fair few people hold him directly responsible for the ship losses at Jutland...

Noone is asking you to log on to the channel, especially if you don't like the folks there. Which begs the question: why are you even posting into THIS topic.
-
You weren't, but I certainly was *cue evil laughter*

Supercharges increase V0, and thus penetration across the board, not just range at any given elevation. Might worth considering for Vanguard as a T8 prem (she was made able to carry and fire them, but she was never issued them). (Cue Trainspite rolling his eyes at me)

I think most of plungin fire citadel hits occur against shells entering the overmatchable superstructure, or ricocheting down wards off it, directly into the deck, at which point autobounce no longer occurs. This is a vague assumption, not a hard fact, but this is about the best idea I have.
