In discussions, imperial calibres are still being referred to in imperial and metric in metric, so really: why is this even an issue? PS: Example: I prefer using the term fifteen-inch-forty-two-calibre-mark-one rather than three-hundred-and-eighty-one-milimetre-forty-two-calibre-mark-one, not only because it's shorter, but also because the guns were gauged in inches in the factory, not in milimetres, which makes all the F'in difference in the world if you know how imperial-to-metric-conversions work in industrial work. In the case of the French three-hundred-and-eighty-milimetre-forty-five-calibre gun, I'll say just that because those guns were built and gauged for 380mm's, not for fourteen-point-nine inches, no matter who tries to bend it how.

I think what he means there is why force yourself to play, when you can just take it slow and steady. Play one game, if it frustrates you, stop playing it, if not, play another one. Do your daily bonuses, and play ships you enjoy. Now, on topic: Myogi isn't bad. She's not great by any means, but she's certainly workable. You outrange most cruisers and BB's you meet quite comfortably, you also outrun all but one two BB's you'll ever meet, so you can pick and choose who to shoot at and who to run away from. If you practise enough, you'll learn to land hits consistently (by way of learning the lead and deflection angles for angled targets), which is going to be a huge help for Kongo and eventually Fuso, you just have to hang in there and not rush the enemy, as they'll sodomise you if you're out of position, since you're a battlecruiser really, not a BB, so armourwise, most BB's will pen your broadside (angled, you will bounce) and CL's and DD's will pen your superstructure with AP. To compensate, you have 6 guns that do 10k damage each and can be fired every 30 seconds. They are also relatively accurate, so if you learn to aim them properly you'll be able to oneshot cruisers and already damaged BB's.

I got the ship when I had no reg T8 ships at all, and despite that she's one of my best performing ships to date (should take her out, but I haven't been playing all that much lately). Sure, my lack of experience with T8 early on does show statwise, but despite that, she's a very good ship. As brought up by ghashpl, a Kutuzov with IFHE now can outdamage her, but there are quite a few factors that are still and always will be in favour of the IJN ship: the stealth and the damage repair can make you a very long-lasting threat, while a Kutuzov that gets smaked by a BB once is forced to retire and spam from a distance. You'll be able to stealth up, repair some of the damage and again have HP to tank. That brings us to point n°2: in top/mid tier battles you can act as a pseudo BB if need be (IF NEED BE, very important), as you can tank anything up to and including 14" guns bow on. Any hit that goes into your superstructure, you can heal up. With well thought-out angling you can bounce most anything off your belt when charging headlong (requires quite a bit of practice and even then it's risky). It's always fun to charge down an out-of-position BB and watch him sh1t himself as he bounces, misses or does minimal damage (yes, I know 15" and up can overmatch your bow, but with 193 games I don't remember that many occasions where I was cit'd at point-blank bow-on). All in all, yes, she's a ship that is worth it ery much, and with all others she has streagths and weaknesses. She's a very different beast from Kutuzov and not in a bad way.

Will it reduce turret times though? I know RoF will go up, but turret times? I don't remember that part...

I don't think RN 6"AP gets better normalisation, ut rather better bounce angles.

I didn't say anything about the quality of the changes, but the end of line comments on the notes give you an impression of the ships' pre-nerf performance. That's all I can say, and even now I'm dancing on a minefield.

Maybe read the notes Tuccy put at the end of each line? Maybe that will clear up some confusion? You guys fly off the handle way too easily based on stats and no actual play experience PS: Darth, you don't actually know that, so stop making it look like you do.

Oh my god, this thread. There is a fundamental difference between iChase and Flamu, that being: iChase seems to be looking at what is good in a ship (even if he has to look really deep), while Flamu likes to slam the bad parts in ships. It's a different approach. Neither is fundamentally wrong, but they are driven from different points of view, one being that you have to cope with what you have (that is basically advice for people that want to like a ship), the other being that you have to know what you can't do with a ship. Instead of taking one or the other as gospel, how about taking away the best from both? I for one find Flamu annoying because he slams anything that isn't outright overpowered (IMO), but I also dislike iChase because sometimes he dances around something that's bad. In this case, I'm willing to try IFHE 240, because the numbers are getting my hopes up. If it doesn't work, well, I'll ditch it. In short: yeah, you guys are displaying signs of fanboyism

Vanilla means "basic", "unupgraded" or "unmodified", not "boring". Think vanilla client as opposed to modded one, or vanilla cruiser (like the original IJN/USN ones) as opposed to the RNCL's that are anything but vanilla.

Not bad, but very few 200mm-category guns are below 10.15seconds of reload and that is usually on the higher tiers. I don't mind restealthing while reloading on my current 8" ships (Aoba, Pepsi, Indy, Atago, Ibuki, New Orleans), but just keep in mind, that up to and including T8 most 8"-armed ships don't go below the 12 second mark on reload. PS: I actually like this idea very much.

There is no path of righteousness. I made that comment out of sheer frustration, because every time I click on this topic, I expect to find something interesting, and finding 4 or so pages of fluff on "oh-emm-gee, where are the brits" and "oh-emm-gee, shut up tea-a-boo" or "Bismarck is a he because this" and "Bismarck is a she because that" annoys the everliving sh1t out of me.
