Will react once home, but good insight.

If you mean Niyodo-Kai, that has been discussed, but then that thing would need 4x4 torps (2x4 on each side), and is really a stretch. Niyodo has been built on the exact same hull that Oyodo has, by reshuffling equipment to fit a "normal" cruiser. Torps in general are handled by way of centreline mounts on Agano, AganoKai and Niyodo. Only Suzuya has the lateral mounts, but that is a historical fact.

For aviation cruisers you have Oyodo, Mogami and Tone. Balancing them is a b1tch, mind... And then controls... oh god...

Niyodo's layout would be similar to that of Agano but with triple turrets. wider beam, but centrally mounted torpedo tubes nevertheless. 2x4x 610mm. Could be elevated as to give the torpedos enough clearence over the rails, but I think it could be done. Keep in mind tha the central big hangar would be gone and you'd have an aircraft platform similar to that of most CA's, with room underneath it to fit the two quad lanuchers. Firing arc was a 60°-ish cone with 20 forward 40 backward (so kind of limited), but stil pretty powerful. The thing with Agano's (and subsequently Agano Kai's) gunmounts is that they weren't exactly very quick-firing. The guns were still manually worked, so the best rate of fire ever achieved out of these guns was somewhere around 8 rounds a minute, but they were closer to 6 rounds/min sustained. Add to that that the AP round (in game as Kongo secondary) does 2900 damage and the HE can be prognosed to do 2200-2400 damage, you are way average for a T5 (and T6) CL. The AA suite could be their strongpoint though (as that is certainly going to be Niyodo's strongpoint). I think she probably still could get away with a 7r/m rof for both T5 and 6. As for Sendai, I don't see a clear benefit over Kuma, or indeed any real difference that would warrant them being in game for any progressional purpose. Sure variation is nice to have, but she doesn't warrant her presence technologically.

clears throat An IJN CL line has been laid out by Trainspite and myself and we found that we can stretch the line out to T8 where it would either expire or join into the existing CA line (some ideas were floated about stretching to T9, but so far we have not gone that way). The progression would go as such: At Kuma we branch out into a CA and CL line. the CL line is as follows: Agano at T5, a 3x2 6"/50-armed CL http://www.shipbucket.com/drawings/4736 https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Agano-class_cruiser Agano-Kai at T6, a 4x2 version of the above ship http://www.shipbucket.com/drawings/4719 "Niyodo" at T7. Now before you start googling, I have to put it out there: this ship never existed. She was supposed to be Oyodo's sister, but she was cancelled before laying down, which made her a prime candidate for what I was about to do to her: I converted her from an aviation cruiser to a classic light cruiser with a rear turret and regular aviation facilities. Basically a 3x3 155mm/60-armed ship. I made a drawing for her, unfortunately it's not available right now, but I'll post it asap. Suzuya at T8. Suzuya was a Mogami class ship from the second batch (the first two ships were also extensively rebuilt), and with some tweaking and stretching we would make her a permamnent CL while Mogami would become a permanent CA. Note that when we made this line stealthfire was still in effect and the line was made with that in mind, so we'll need to rebalance most of it. The strength of the line is the usual excellent IJN HE and torps. Agano and Agano-Kai have surplus Kongo-class secondary armament mounted in twin turrets, while "Niyodo" (like Oyodo) uses refurbished Mogami-class turrets. Also working on a RNCA tree with Trainspite. The progression is a bit wonky, but we managed to stretch it out to TX using design proposalsand common sense. Existing designs indeed only go out to T7, but I think what we put together would still be satisfactory. The TX is a 3x3 9.2"/47-gun-armed ship, one of the most well constructed ship guns ever.

No experience in the Murmansk, but based on what I heard she should be pretty decent. Experience with Molotov: Maneuverability is somewhat lacking (russian), but the guns are just amazing. You can blow almost any cruiser right out of the water in your MM spread. The gun velocities allow you to hit hard even from a distance.

They have 8 km range, but go at 76 knots, and do 21k damage. Oh and there are 8 of them per side. Yeah, such downgrade...

The problem with Myoko is that she is good for one thing and that one thing is spamming from mid to long range. Come close to a ship like Pepsi and you will get anally overhauled if the Pepsi driver has half a brain. Pepsi got her bad rep because she used to be seen from the moon and thus screwed over in the opening minutes of any match where she wasn't top tier, and even then a lucky salvo from a Fuso or New Mex could delete her. I for one love Pepsi to bits, especially because she is so underestimated. Sure, your armour isn'T the best, but when you get even the shallowest of side angle, you suddenly can butt-fnck any same tier cruiser and I have triple citadeled Ibukis with impunity (that caused a lot of cursing, mind). I have far better stats in Myoko, but I don't think she's better, simply because I have never turned a game around in that ship, while I have done so multiple times in Pepsi. After Aoba, Myoko didn't feel like a clear upgrade, tbh, it felt more like a trade. Trade of flexibility for damage farming. I feel much more at home in Pepsi because despite lacking torps, I feel more flexible.

I'm still alive. Guys, if it's a humanoid ship, it's heresy. If it's a cute anime girl (that mutsu girl was girl like), I like it.- 3,079 replies

Yeah, but thing is, historically Brooklyn gave up a turret for better firecontrol and better rate of fire to become Cleveland. We can discount all the "soft" factors (RoF, firecontrol) and make her a T Cleveland+1, or we can take those into account and put Brookly to T cleveland - 1 with the assorted reduction in range, accuracy and individual RoF. Either way is viable in a simple surface/surface scenario, but when it comes to utility, Cleveland clearly wins out with her better and more streamlined AA suite that allows her to be an effective escort vessel.

Okay, thanks for the info. The sketch does look interesting, believable even. I was thinking Iron duke (or other 13.5"-armed) ships more along the lines of T4 originally, with Revenge class being T5, but then again, Iron Duke would also be viable (as demonstrated by König).

How does he spawn two blocklines? That's double posting, even I can see that. I mean it shows how *edited* this guy is even through the block.

Can't read half this thread, chipmunk has spammed it to *edited* and I just see blocklines. König, you got that upvote for pointing out the bullcrap. Also, I'm a bit occupied right now, what's the imaginary rebuild of?

/native
