Argentinian T7 Cruiser on the horizon
piritskenyer replied to darkstar73's topic in General Discussion
She was refitted with a bunch of bofors and oerlikon guns at the expense of her 4x 4" guns in the '60s, that could do for AA. After all, she could get away with being more of a surface combatant rather than a fleet escort. Yeah, she'd definitely need the stealth mod to survive. All in all, I'm inclined to push down the ships one tier, but then where would Veinticinco de Mayo go? That ship doesn't look T5 to me (she'd be wasted there imo), but then we would have two T6 ships? Actually, screw it just release them all as prems... -
That... is more than probable.

HP can be artificially boosted (speed is probably going to need some minimal boosting, 1.5kts or sth like that - still looking for trials speed). Tell you what she does have: 10 r/m/g, which is essentially the same output as Helena and Boise (NdJ) in their current iteration. Probably a bit finnicky to balance, but I think it could work. HP on current Helena is probably artificially low. With post-war modifications and 8r/m/g she could fit the bill nicely for T8. And like I said, it would be interestingto see how you balance the same ship in two different tiers. Also, on Savannah, yeah, that was my exact thought, I am currently developing that idea. Yeah, like I said, doubtful. It could hack it in T8 no problem (15r/m/g results in a nice output), but I really have no better idea. She's huge, mind, so HP wouldn't be a problem and she just screams sensor ship (hydro+radar). Plus at T9 you get access to damage repair. That said, Maybe Tamandare could be passed over (or made a T7 prem) for Almirante Grau on T8, -
And yet, you have taken time to configure your emblem. Also, please leave them be.

Argentinian T7 Cruiser on the horizon

Okay, here's what I've come up with, feel free to tear it to shreds Shipname (operating country) (country of origin) (rough description) (?) ARA Murature (AG) (AG) (3x 105mm/45 Bofors) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ARA_Murature_(P-20) ARA Nueve de Julio (AG) (GB) (4x6" protected cruiser, in light of recent discovery name doubtful) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ARA_Nueve_de_Julio_(1892) ? Bahia class (BR) (GB) (10x 120mm/50 Vickers) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazilian_cruiser_Bahia ? ARA Venticinco de Mayo (AG) (IT) (3x2x 190mm/53; 6x2x 4"/45; 2x3x 21" TT) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Veinticinco_de_Mayo-class_cruiser ARA La Argentina (AG) (GB) (3x3x 6"/50 Vickers Mk W; 4x1x 4"/50 Vickers Mk M; 2x3x 21" TT) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ARA_La_Argentina_(C-3) Almirante Tamandare (BR) (US ex St Louis) (5x3x 6"/47 - would be interesting to see how the same ship can be balanced on two tiers) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_St._Louis_(CL-49)#Transfer_to_Brazil BAP Almirante Grau (PE) (NL ex De Zeven Provincien de Ruyter) (4x2x 6"/50 Bofors rapid fire - doubtful for many reasons) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BAP_Almirante_Grau_(CLM-81) ? -
Argentinian T7 Cruiser on the horizon

I managed to work out a tree more or less for south america up to T8. I'll post it here if anyone is interested. -
Situational, really, but generally speaking when transiting I will sometimes drop wide spreads in the general direction of the enemy's path when sailing my Atago or Mogami. Otherwise when I have a concrete target, I will fire narrow spreads, although if tbe chance of evasive action is high, I may drop a qide spread in there jist to cover the area.

Git gud. Unless you are playing stock, the ship's fine. The problem is you.

I don't think anyone has yet besides the actual devs :P Also is that a pun? :D

Yes and no. Yes because it would have caused inessant and toxic whining from everyone, And no, because their reason was mainly that sitting in smoke and just spamming HE may rack up tons of firedamage, it isn't exactly effective gameplay resultwise. Remember fire damage is repairable 100%, HE pen damage 50%. Meaning that you get high damage, low influence. Also it was deemed boring.

Sorry to say, but that is not a sensible thing to think. Sensible in a way would have been to think along the lines of firechance reduced to the levels of Belfast as previously mentioned, but to 3-5% is just ridiculous. In another way it wouldn't have made sense at allntonreduce firechance from that of Cleveland, as Cleveland always had that 12% (and more in the old days even) anseriously messing with that could/would have been problematic.

Yeah, what she also has in those stats are: - unhistorically slow speed - huge turning radius - sluggish rudder - abysmal range All stats considered, something smells like fish to me

TBH Boise's stats look extremely strange to me... As if they were stock stats as if on a silver ship, instead of stats on a prem ship... I mean 13.8 km range on a T7 cruiser with this concealment and sluggishness is just baaaaaaad...

You just described Dallas :D Downtiered one with no statchanges... It would be ridiculously OP and I would be perfectly fine with that.
-
Off the top of my head Indy has much more sluggish rudder shift.

I'm sure WG are shaking in their seats right now because of the economic uncertainty your refusal to contribute is going to cause them.
-
No, you are just bad.

Hello mate, Thabks fornthe heads up. One thing though: this isn't a bug, it's an oversight. I imagine it can be quite easily fixed, onve they get to it, but I also imagine it is rather low down on the priority list. Thing is there are other more pressing issues the community is chewing on the devs at the moment. Again, thank you for the heads up, Happy sailing,

Hi gents! As you may have guessed it from the title, today's proposed/discussed ship is going to be *drumroll* the USS Wichita. This ship review and Game Implementation Proposal (gonna coin the term as GIMP) is brought to you by Trainspite and myself. Again a lot of research and knowledge credit goes to him. The way we'll do things is this: we're going to review the ship's historical background and then we'll look at the possibility of her implementation into the game in two ways: as a reg and as a prem ship. Let us begin. Wichita firing her guns in 1945. Here you can also see the unique secondary battery layout. - Picture credit: navsource.com "Well, Toast, this is nice and dandy, but how does that translate into the game?" - I hear you ask. Well, fret not, here's what we concocted up with Trainspite: Wichita in her Atlantic camouflage from 1942, this would be her premium camouflage wether she appears as a prem or a reg - picture credit: shipbucket.com Line drawing of USS Wichita of how she appeared in 1945 So here we are. Overall a pretty strong looking ship. I hope you like it. At least half the credits go to Trainspite, as mentioned aready. Sources: www.world-war.co.uk navweaps.com navsource.com shipbucket.com

I think 4-5 seconds would be adequate, idk what I wrote in the opening. The 5"/38 being outdone by any similar design (other than the 4.5"/45 Mk V of the RN) is indeed ridiculous as they were one of the best constructed medium/light guns in the world.
