That is sound logic. The problem doesn'T affect me or would require effort, so let's just ignore it.
-
From experience, Atago is no less powerful than other cruisers. Torpedoes usually prop up my damage, they don'T strictly make it. Atago also has the best concealment of all CA's on T8, so if it can't disengage, it is out of position and doomed anyway. As others have said, the heal doens'T need to be a heapful, single charge "you fncked up, you can try again" or a "wow, this is a TX game, here's a heal" circumstantial heal would be good too. I'm perfectly fine with some of the cruisers receiving nerfs in exchange for the heal, however, I find it ridiculous that it is considered normal for some ships to be thrown into games as nothing more but farmable hitpoints.

Atago also gets 8 torps/side with a 10km range. Prinz Eugen gets fewer, shorter and limper torps, but still has them. Thos two ships can ambush other ships when played properly, and tbh Atago's heal isn't always needed for me with those accurate and sake-soaked HE shells. Atago is much more about salvo damage rather than sustained DPM, like Wichita that has to remain exposed for longer to inflict damage. As I said, my main problem is that a single unlucky turn, or other mistake can break your game in half when you are constantly uptiered. With Atago and Prinz Eugen (hell, even with Edi) you get away with it because when the one stray shell of the backsniping Montana wrecks your engine, takes 13.7k off your HP and leaves you hanging out there or you get spotted by air and every gun on the enemy team turns on you and shaves off half your HP before you can drop back to concealment, and heal up to a level when the next stray shell is not going to blow you up. With Wichita, Hipper, Baltimore, Charlie Martel, etc. you are well and truly in the sh1t when you get spotted. Hipper, Charlie and Chappy have a sightly easier time of it, as they have enough range to create a standoff range and have people in front of them that might be shot at instead, but Wichi, Balti, Cleve, Mogami don't have that luxury. the USN heavies have one saving grace, namely that they can bowtank 15" shells, but that only works if you are close enough. If you are close enough though, you are too close and someone else is going to tag you from a different angle.

Oh my god, you still exist? -
Basically what happens when German naval engineers take a whole lot of acid, crack and speed.

I believe so, yes. Yubari has changed over the years, or rather, the game changed around the Yubari, and there can be quite some confusion spawning from that. Not everyone pays attention to post dates...

My basic skillset for an IJN cruiser would be PT / EM / DE / CE Then and only then add SI, AR, BFT, EL (this is my Zao/Atago cpt fit btw) For my Mogami (I kept my 155 Mog) the fit would be PT / EM / DE / CE / IFHE / SI / AR

149k, then I did a misplay...

We're hitting levels of necro that shouldn'T even be possible.

I do. If you have a stealthy DD ally, say a divisionmate, you can one-two-punch any DD that tries to cap. You can pretty well just sh1t all over any other T6 DD in terms of gunpower, and your HP pool with SE just makes you scary for any DD up to and including some T8 ships. If you must operate alone, the trick is to do the hippy-shake as soon as detected. Any DD foolish enough to open up on you, as I said you can savagely kick, and anything that you can outspot, you can outmaneuver the shots of. I'm quite satisfied with my Aigle, and I know dedicated DD players who also quite like her (calling her a DD player's DD).

Which ship should I choose to fight American cruisers
piritskenyer replied to Ive_got_the_ships's topic in Cruisers
Although Monty's slow shells have falla ngles at long range that takes them out of autobounce range. My picks would be firespammy ships that have more range than USN cruisers. -
(CVL is the hull symbol for Carrier Vessel, Light, so not exactly )

As a cruiser player all I can say: You're just plain wrong mate.

@who_dares_wins Sir, I am offended that you have failed to recognise me and only recognised my divisionmate @T0byJug. Outraged, I say! Nah, just kidding, nice meeting you :) -

What Were Your Greatest Gaming Achievements Today ?

This little game. Not because of how awesome the performance was or anything, but it felt genuinely good going out of my way to protect a little ship. (And we exchanged pleasantries afterwards) https://replayswows.com/replay/38204#stats -
Greetings fellow forumites, Having my PC dying on me while travelling has left me with way too much time on my hands. HMS Vanguard I'll quickly go over the historical aspect of the ship, although not too much in detail. As you can see, she had a rather uneventful career and a somewhat sad end to her. How would she translate in game? Well, here is where the fun begins, and we don't even need the RN superheal to make it work. Survivability Armament: Anti-air Maneuverability Concealment Overall, what we find based on these (projected) stats, is that Vanguard would be, above all else, an actual (classical, so to speak) tank. She would make use of her hitpoints and [angled] armour to soak up damage, while dishing it out just as well. I decided not to give her any gimmicky consumable, so she is basically just a BB with good anti-air, strong (while certainly not the strongest) armour and generally just a sturdy ship. She doesn't get hydro, or radar (which she could comfortably have, given her radar equipment out of the shipyard), she doesn't even get an aircraft, as the only aircraft she ever had were rotary wing (and those aren't in the game) Hope you guys like the proposal, it would be cool to see the last ever BB in the game. So we have a "Who have you met" , a "What have you done" and even a "Just how much carrying does it take?" thread, but we don't have one where we describe our own mistakes and stupid "things" relating to the game. I'm going to start: I've been playing WG titles since '12, and in all that time, I've been using premium vehicles to grind credits and crew xp. Only I didn't realise until yesterday that when you retrain a commander for a new ship and put him in a premium ship, his skills won't be restricted in the premium ship like they woud be in the shi he is being retrained for. I counted a little and I conservatively estimated that my error cost me around 8k gold. So yeah, that's the stupidest "thing" today. How about you guys?

Vanguard: lacking something to be good
piritskenyer replied to __Helmut_Kohl__'s topic in General Discussion
They also have the short fuzes, so they are more suitable for anti-cruiser work with that AP, while Vanguard has the normal fuzetime, but no improved angles, and is as such better suited for achieving citadel pens rather than normal pens. -
