Good morning ladies and gentlemen, I have returned once more to propose a ship for the consideration of the public and of course, wargaming. Jeanne d'Arc Right now that ship is the French cruiser Jeanne d'Arc, a schoolship of the Marine Nationale between 1930 and 1964. History In game In light of her moderate characteristics, I am going to propose a few "game-mechanic-based" improvements. First off, characteristics: Survivability Armament: Anti Air Maneuverability: Concealment: So here we are. A somewhat slow, fragile, gun and AA-based cruiser that outdoes the Duguay in terms of gunnery and AA, but falls behind in speed (even with a boost) and hitting power, not having any torps at all. I hope you like this proposal, feel free to discuss/suggest. Yeah, I heard about the series, although from what I understand it's not as straightforward as the movie was, as it includes different subplots... I'll be watching it for sure, just not sure when. -

Advise you take your brain out, flush it down a toilet and just go for it. Your WR, and other stats are gonna suffer, but you will eventually get the achievements. I'm honestly more bothered by the national restriction than anything else.

Yeah, I remember that as well. I was like "how does he know?!" then I was like "How can I earn to know?" Strangers has been in the game for so long he legit knows more rules and mechanics than most of the playerbase, and I would lay money to the bet that he knows more about some rules and mechanics than some devs at this point.

I've used the same crosshair mod (green lemon type I) since CBT, and I always really liked it. Each tick is roughly 5 kts worth of lead and it has vertical deflection lines (the angled lines that go towards the centrepoint of a reticle) so that you can engage targets that aren't sailing perfectly broadside to you. I have had some beautiful deflection shots with that set of crosshairs, I find it's extremely easy to make corrections with it. -
Is it me or low tier cruisers are easier to play than BBs?

Don'T get hit in the citadel ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Seriously tho, I never had a problem with Omaha, Kone, and Furutaka, some of which are better armoured and some of which and worse off than Exeter. I got through at least one match without having to use a heal (I used it at the end of the match when we already won because why not, it was gonna cost me 22.5k anyway), I think the ship is okay. Not the strongest T5 cruiser, but not as bad as the two... let's call them experts are trying to make it look. -

Seeing what your stats are like in T5 cruisers, such as Murmansk, Kirov, Furutaka, I am very much suspecting that the problem lays elsewhere than with the ship. PS: Your best T5 cruiser stats are, ironically, with Exeter -

So I bought a Wichita. Things were going fine in the first two matches, and now, after 25, I have a WR of 40% with something like 55k avg damage. Where am I going wrong? I had games where I was above 100k damage done and we still lost, others where I died 3 minutes in with just above 20k damage done and we won. What am I doing wrong, I wanna improve, because honestly, I think the ship is awesome, and when I was playing it in the test iteration, I was actually kicking as$.

Okay, who in the hell ever writes ASWD instead of WASD and since when does LMB give you free view and RMB fire. smh. Thanks for the tips guys. I don't know what it is about Wichita that makes her not work for me, I'm desperately hoping it's just bad luck, but I can't assume that. I seem to be suffering from an extreme case of sh1t-to-the brain when I play her and don't know what to do. HE spamming at mid range, using the fantastic maneuverability to dodge works fine, AP'ing cruisers with the improved bounce angles works fine, it's just that I can't get consistently decent games and I can't get wins. Maybe it was the weekend, but I still can't blame that for my awful performance. I don't know, have I lost my edge, did I degenerate and lost braincells, I just don't know.

Now that we established how I'm the problem, you will be delighted to find that I created another topic aimed at fixing me. T8 cruisers should still get heals, I'm not going back on that.

I see you play above T8. (or at least it certainly seems so) I will admit, for some reason, I don't get USN cruisers (I perform badly in them apart from testing somehow), so you know what, I'll just give them up and not bother your highness with things that I think need adressing (like the relatively high jump in power between T8 and 9). I'll just go back to my damage farm in Japan and France.

Okay, you are right. Let's give all cruisers a single charge heal. I'm pointing particularly at T8 because T8 gets into TX matches more often than T5's get into T7. in 11 games today, I had 2 which was not TX. I'm not talking top tier, I'm talking not bottom tier. T5's are uncomfortable, granted, but they don't get nowhere near the same amount of sh1t as T8's in my experience (or then it is somehow more bearable, idk). Tbh, I mind the shift of having a heal (as well as the range or rof boost module) a bit too much to bear between T8 and 9, compounded by the fact that then you get almost constantly uptiered to the point where you have to be playing a battleship or a DD in order to get decent results. T8 needs to have a bone thrown at it, because right now it feels like fodder to TX's

Maybe read the entire thing before cherrypicking? Also, ever heard of superstructure pens? Ever heard of "being in a turn after the BB fired its guns but he just reloadboosts you out of existence because lol balance"? Oh and I'd like to see the day the perfectly formed transom of USN CA's autobounces whatever calibre of shell. Wait, it's vertical. I don't think that's workin' out, chief. So yeah, thank you for your input, very helpful.

If it was working as intended, more people would play T8. No, only T8 should get a heal because they are the first to have to face the monstrous firepower of TX. 18" guns, 460mm guns, en masse and there's nothing you can do to defend against them.
