Battle cruisers, will they be coming soon?

The big question is why there is such a rigid class system in WOWS when IRL it has always been fluid and dynamic? It should be much easier and simple to balance ships if they were simply based on a battle rating system like in the olde pen and paper wargames in the days of yore seperated by time period in order to avoid pure ww1 technology facing up against ww2 technology.

    Do suiciders get punished?

Stop blaming people for what is Wargaming's doing - Wargaming business decisions causes players to act this way. You can disagree obviously but that do not change the fact that WOWS is made in such a way that people becomes frustrated and act toxic on purpose as that is part of the business model in order to intice the players to spend money on progressing through the tiers. The game was never meant to be challenging, great or even fun; just look at the target group of players which is the lowest possible common denominator. The game was created to abuse human psychology to make the players spend money on Wargaming's games. The psychological mechanics that drives this kind of business model is well documented and understood and players lash out subconsciously against Wargaming when they suicide or in any other way play toxic or unsportsmanlike because they know inside that they are being taken for a ride by Wargaming - they are not doing it to punish the other players. The trick is to be aware of how the business model works and it will be clear why all issues of toxic players are the result of Wargaming's deliberate decisions and that all blame can be placed at Wargaming HQ. As is your right to - congratulations on your decision Go watch the traffic and/or take public transportation and you'll be enlightened about the true nature of mankind. That truth is that we are nothing more than robots made from flesh with just as much free will as a goldfish and that we act on impulses rather than on conscious thought. Our intelligence makes us capable of performing complex tasks and combined with our consciousness they make us aware of our own existence and inevitable death but all of our behaviour are inherently the result of biological programming and we are essential only passengers on a ride of which we have no real control. Civilisation is only skin deep, utter unbridled savagery is only a scratch away, kept at bay by fear of violence by the state. Enjoy the illusion though, have to say it is better to be ignorant than enlightened
  3. The premium consumables are there to make you spend money to slightly increase your probability of winning - that is it.

    Do suiciders get punished?

    1) I don't troll 2) You are not obliged to agree to -what I write. 3) *Edited of all the actions and decisions we make during the day are not consciously made but are rather the result of acting on impulses which no one has any kind of influence on. 4) This is a game with the sole purpose of grinding from tier 1 to tier 10 with a high enough amount of frustration built in the game so that the players will spend money on dubloons and premium content in order to preogress and to try to escape the frustrating elements of the game. 5) Having a good game experience or good stats is completely irrelevant to the goal of the game and it is designed to be frustrating and toxic. 6) Learn to accept that the game is not made for providing the players with entertainment and a good gaming experience, but solely to cater to the economic goals of Wargaming 7) Knowing the above it is clear that respect for your fellow gamers and Wargaming is completely irrelevant as taking care of No. 1 is the primary concern of each and every player. 8) It is perfectly fine to pursue one's goals single mindledy, ruthlessly and without regard for everyone else. 8) Have nice day

From Reddit: Statistics on the EU server population

Bear in mind that when a player register an account in WoT he or she automatically registers one in WoWS as well so there are lot of 0 games played WoWS accounts. You can see this by randomly looking up players under the 'Players' tab here: https://worldofwarships.eu/en/community/accounts/ Try typing 'bob' and you'll quickly get an impression on the number of registered yet never played accounts.

18% winrate-in-a-X-CV-player afking multiple times in randoms

It takes effort to go this low and the player in question must have done it intentionally given the number of games played as just pressing 'battle' and then disconnect or go AFK should net a winrate above 40%

The Death of the dedicated heavy cruiser

The problem is the same as for CLs: the battles in WOWS are representative of WW2 naval combat where cruiser could and did operate independently together with destroyer squadrons and fought similar enemy forces and rarely fought in battles where battleships were present and when they did the battleships would primarily target the enemy battleships first and therefore they first and foremost had to worry about gunfire and torpedoes from enemy cruisers and destroyers. In a real naval battle the most dangerous andpowerful enemy is targeted first because when that is defeated the less powerful ones have a far less probability of surviving the battle. If the least powerful enemy is targeted first that still exposes your squadron/fleet to devasting fire from the enemy's most powerful units and while you sink the weakest enemy you are dealt major to cirtical damage to your most powerful units which then will have a substantially lower probability of defeating the enemy's most powerful units. End result is usually the the side that targets the weakest ships first loses because their strongest ships becomes combat ineffective, crippled or sunk and then the rest of the ships are easy pickings. In WOWS the game rewards players that targets the weakest ships first which is why playing in cruisers can be so frustrating.

    The "new" Cleveland

The game could benefit of a more historical inspired game mode where battles like those fought in the Solomons campaign that mostly consisted of cruisers and destroyers would face up against eachother instead of always having to face battleships as well. Mission objectives other than capping could be used as well. Much more fun to play cruiser when you are on a level battlefield and where your skill is what matters the most.

Is WOWS the best naval game ever?

It is good game despite the sonar and target solution mechanics are arcady, lacking in detail and nowhere near as realistic and challenging as 688(i) Hunter killer and Sub Command are. Great fun though.

Cleveland to T8 is very bad idea

Unfortunately the most important factor for a cruiser's guns; Approximate Barrel Life(ABL) is not in the game. The USN 6" guns had between 2 to 3 times the ABL compared to those mentioned which IRL made the USN 6" CLs superior in staying power and time between refits, which is also the case for the RN CLs. This is *Edit* among other things why the USN and RN CLs were superior to most other nations of WW2. Simply speaking they could spend more time patrolling and performing their tasks and duties at sea than their potential enemies which is what count the most in a naval war. But this is not modelled in WoWS...

    Ive had enough

The 11 other players on your no good team.and it is all by design.

Cleveland to T8 is very bad idea

It is the inevitable result of a game using a tier system where the ultimate and sole purpose is to incite people to spend money on progression to tier 10. If WoWS had been designed around providing the players with challenging and entertaining gameplay there would not be a tier based system, as those are mutually exclusive.
